Oud and Rose- mostly mass appealing
The quality is certainly there with this one. Just got a bottle in and I'm here for a review. The oud and rose are delicately balanced and very nicely blended. I could tell this reminded me of something when I sampled it on skin and it hit me- Bond No 9 Signature Scent. Both are rose/Oud scents, but Bond is more sparkly and effervescent while this one is not. A lot of people marked this is unisex/male leaning, but I think it's more female leaning. I think it's best meant for formal events, or perhaps even daily wear in the work environment. Also best meant for colder months, but versatile enough for all months except the hottest ones. I did give it to my wife because I know she likes it a lot more than me (she actually loves it, while I like it). It's actually a beautiful scent, but it's not my style. I can see where people say it's similar to BR540- but it's different. The oud makes it slightly more earthy. Again, I can really tell the quality is there with this one. I just can't comment on the longevity because I've just sampled it on skin about 15 minutes ago.

Visiting the Mango Harvest
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the vast desert, lies the oasis Annone,
Mango trees, citrus groves as far as the eye can see, enveloped by desert air.

The harvest of ripe mangoes is in full swing,
But through the crowd, a whisper spreads, rumors begin to circulate.

With rich gifts from the not-so-distant sultanate,
The princess is visiting, the royal caravan approaches.

On elephants and camels, the caravan makes its way through the oasis,
Baskets filled with the finest treasures, whose value can only be guessed.

From some, rose petals glimmer, from others pale irises, dusty, dry, pure,
Backpacks full of red gold, fine threads, spicy-sweet, they must truly be precious!

A cloth in the color of ivory stretches over the large, royal tent,
Lavishly and comfortably furnished, it stands surrounded by a field of roses.

To forget the hardships, the princess relaxes deeply in a bath of milk,
Anointed with nourishing essences, her skin as soft and delicate as velvet.

In gold-plated bowls, fine, gentle oud wafts in light tendrils.
The tent filled with a hint of mystique, offerings of incense from the nomads.

On musk cushions and with a view of the sweet floral sea in the shade of tall palms,
Delicate wisps drift over as the oud chips continue to smolder.

Petals, nut grass tufts sway back and forth in the warm wind,
Her gaze wanders over beautiful landscapes that are truly a feast for the eyes.

Fin.

Annone - it took me more than a year to form a concrete opinion about the scent. And now? Now it has landed at the top of my wish list - sometimes it just takes a little more time to find a treasure. Annone from the house of Pantheon Roma, which draws inspiration for its fragrances from the love stories of the Italian Renaissance, feels to me like a love story to the Orient itself. Fresh, sweet-sour mangoes, zesty bergamot, and wonderfully spicy, crimson saffron threads present themselves in a phenomenal opening. The fruity and slightly sweet-spicy notes are then underscored by fresh, light rose and a soft, powdery iris, with the heart note indeed focusing more on the iris. Even here, one can easily detect animalistic, dark-woody oud nuances, which give the fragrance a beautiful contrast and an interesting depth. As it progresses, the oud note crystallizes further, becoming woodier, slightly cheesy, and breathing even more character into the fragrance. Yet it never fully steps into the foreground, serving more as a harmonious link between all the other notes. Over time, it becomes softer with a well-measured dose of vanilla and a hint of musk, while now and then a bit of nagarmotha flashes through, keeping the scent from becoming boring in its final hours. All in all, Annone is a fantastic release that has truly brought me great joy during testing.

An Oriental Evening Just You and Me and a Piece of One Thousand and One Nights
This fragrance has been with me since last year. At first, it was the story behind the scent that captivated me. For those who don't know, the fragrance from Pantheon Rome Annone is about a century-old love story. It’s about two people who fell in love on a warm night. Drawn in like a magnet, I purchased this fragrance as a blind buy. And what can I say, with this scent I was able to end my thousand and one search for the most perfect saffron fragrance in the world. It is a saffron scent combined with fruity notes. It withstands both cold and hot temperatures and gives the wearer a long, long mystical aura. For me, it’s an absolute recommendation. It reminds me of a night in the desert with stars above me, wrapped in a garment of red silk and pearls.

Amore Rosa - Troppo Amore
With "Annone | Pantheon," I definitely wanted to test the second fragrance that is very popular from Pantheon Roma, alongside "Dolce Passione | Pantheon." This is not another gourmand, but rather a more classic fragrance in terms of its orientation. It is the interpretation of an oud for the average fragrance user. So, a scent that aims to draw attention through the now widespread combination of rose and oud.

The fragrance pyramid appears rather atypical for such a mixture. Bergamot, mango, and iris are not found in every common oud. The intention, in my opinion, is to create differentiation with fresh, fruity notes and to give a slight kick to a familiar DNA. The question is whether this succeeds.

At least on my skin, the fragrance does not reach its potential, as it behaves too much like the generic mass of oud fragrances and primarily radiates through its very prominent rose, which becomes simply too unpleasant and annoying for me over time.

The fragrance builds up somewhat more pleasantly than I am used to from other scents in this category. "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Parfum) | XerJoff" is my prime example of how it shouldn't be done. That was just cloying rose with a bit of background fluff. Annone at least tries to find a certain balance with the bergamot and, to some extent, with the saffron against the rose. However, with my rose-sensitive nose, I can hardly perceive any of it, as it gets pushed too far into the background. The rose does seem quite dominant with the few saffron threads, but at least not as cloying as in the Xerjoff. A fresher rose that experiences a bit of spice and makes a noticeable effort.

The oud component builds up slowly in the background, but does not come across as animalistic or dirty on the skin. It is much more the typical notion of an oud that has more woodiness and darker tones.
That’s about it for the explanation, as the progression or the end of the fragrance development seems to be reached quickly and has no more highlights afterward. Since the rose dominates too strongly on my skin, the other notes recede so much that no change in the DNA can be perceived.

On the other hand, the longevity is fitting, lasting around eight hours. The sillage is not as loud and striking as with other fragrances in the category and feels more subtle. For that, I can be glad, as I don't have the rose constantly in my nose.

In the end, there will surely be one or two lovers of this fragrance, but for my part, it is too generic and interchangeable and therefore not worth its price.

Rose - Oud designed a bit differently
Annone is, for me, a fragrance with a rose-oud combination that comes across a bit differently.
Overall, in my perception, Annone is quite spicy, slightly sweet and fruity, as well as creamy-woody.

The fragrance starts with a rather ripe mango that gets a spicy touch from saffron. The saffron, however, is quite pleasant and fits relatively well with the ripe mango.
Nevertheless, the woody oud note is already noticeable in the top notes. It does not come across as animalistic, but still relatively strong and present. The rose, which is also recognizable early on, joins in.

This is indeed designed quite pleasingly, but one must say that it can also be demanding.
I think there will be many people who will not really like this fragrance.
Personally, I am not a huge fan of this DNA either, but I still find it pleasant and can appreciate the "quality." Somehow it gets to me, but somehow it also doesn't.

Over time, the mango steps a bit into the background.
Saffron remains, rose remains, creamy oud becomes more intense. Additionally, there is an increasingly slightly sweet impression.
The oud actually comes across as quite creamy. A relatively present, self-assured oud, which, on the other hand, is somehow pleasantly creamy with a slight sweetness.

The performance is really good!
It lasts easily 10 hours on me and the projection is not really worse. It definitely packs a punch. For me personally, it is a bit too much, especially with this DNA. Nevertheless, it is not completely overwhelming. There will certainly be people who find it brilliant.

Sweet mango, oud and saffron meet dominant rose, but the musky Ambroxan overpowers, leaving the scent feel overly synthetic and unbalanced.

A beautiful rose oud. Fruity and tangy refreshed by mango. Saffron stays in the background. Dark sweet-warm base. Rose always present.

The typical saffron-oud-rose overload with a hairspray note, is that you, Montale? I liked it before, but I can't find my way back, over.

At first, it was too strong for me, but later it became a beautiful scent with a brutal sillage - a DNA you don't find often.

Not an oriental night, but Baccarat Rouge, just not so loud. Mango is definitely noticeable. Becomes milder over time with rose and iris.*
