A "little man" stands in the forest

A leathery little man in the forest, as absurd as this description may seem, it is fitting for this unique fragrance. Irish Leather Eau de Parfum smells just as I would have expected Green Irish Tweed to smell at the time. But unlike the Creed creation, Memo's version is not an overpriced disappointment.

Green, earthy, boggy and a small dash of leather. This fragrance walks an extremely fine line when it comes to not being off-putting, but Memo masters this balancing act with flying colors. The manufacturer advertises the fragrance as "Gallop of the wind" and depicts a white horse galloping through the wide, wet pastures of Ireland towards the horizon on a cool morning. For my taste, a very fitting illustration for the fragrance. I appreciate the bold uniqueness and strength of character of the fragrance, but I have the feeling that it is more of a men's fragrance despite its unisex categorization. My gut feeling or nose feeling is confirmed by the Parfumo community: Of the 322 users of the fragrance on Parfumo, a full 75 percent are male.

As befits a good leather fragrance, the performance is by no means disappointing. I was able to smell the fragrance myself for a full eight hours with four sprays on my neck. The galloping horse has a lot of stamina.

The bottles are one of the best things about Memo fragrances. This bottle is also a success, but I think the drawing of the white horse in the meadow in front of the Irish castle, which you can find on the Memo website, is more fitting than the bottle design. Even if it is very artistic, this horse confusion seems like a kind of preliminary stage of a brilliant artist on the verge of madness.

The price may be high at 160 euros for 75 ml, but you also get a unique fragrance with great performance. However, I would actually advise against a blind buy for this amount of money, as not everyone will probably like the fragrance due to its special composition.

If your nose gets along with Encre Noire Eau de Toilette, you will probably also like Irish Leather Eau de Parfum, so I can recommend this fragrance to men in particular. For women, I would rather recommend French Leather Eau de Parfum. However, my personal Memo favorite still remains African Leather Eau de Parfum.
