Opera Mate wears well. There’s a polished sweetness from the start — not syrupy, but definitely forward. The woods underneath are smooth and controlled, and the transitions are clean. Nothing feels synthetic or rough.

But it never really shifts. The profile stays pleasant and cohesive, yet it doesn’t reveal much dimension over time. It smells good throughout the wear, but it doesn’t create tension or a memorable moment.

Well constructed.

I was really surprised by Opera Mate. I didn't expect it to be so gourmand, but the combination of roasted chestnut, crème brûlée, caramel, and suede works really well.

A warm, inviting scent, perfect for winter. The nutty chestnut gives it depth, and the sweet and smoky notes are very harmonious.

The longevity is top-notch: around 8 hours on the skin, even 12 to 14 hours on clothing.

Sure, the price is not low, but the scent itself is absolutely convincing. Anyone who likes gourmand and leather should give it a try.

I certainly don’t. The chestnut is truly unbelievably dominant and I actually got a headache. I probably won’t be able to smell chestnuts again….

Maybe if you’re into chestnuts, in winter, applied very subtly for absolute niche fans. I’m definitely out on this one.

However, I have to give credit to the fragrance for its phenomenal sillage and longevity. I practically had to remove the first layer of skin to get rid of the scent. The bottle, of course, like all minigames bottles, is 10/10.

I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, unless they want to leave the house that day….
