Allrounder with Lemongrass
I'm surprised that there are no reviews yet for this great Vieri from the brand Mind Games. I tested it through the sample set of this fantastic American brand. The scent is by no means a bestseller and is rather faint in the background, which is also evident from the few reactions here. This doesn’t always mean much, as hype can often be a matter of taste and some fragrances don’t resonate with everyone. In my opinion, this Vieri is an extremely versatile scent that might appeal more to men, but still fits within the unisex concept. Especially in the opening and the first few hours, it is a lemongrass scent. A wonderful note that radiates a very relaxed vibe for me. Overall, it’s a great mix that comes across as rather understated and cool. Prices are somewhat overpriced for this brand in my opinion, but you can get this Vieri for under €200 (RRP €270/100ml).
The eye-catchers are the great chess pieces that match the name Mind Games. The names are also inspired by chess. The packaging is absolutely fine as well. A great overall package that somewhat justifies the price. Whether it justifies €270 is something everyone has to decide for themselves.
The fragrance impresses with a wonderful lemongrass note that dominates the first hours. A lovely note that I personally perceive as relaxing and also has slight spa vibes. Along with it, there is a typical lemon note with a lightly peppery spice. This is followed by more relaxed notes of tea, lavender, and a gentle spiciness of ginger. Fruity notes of blackcurrant and juniper lighten things up a bit and create a great mix that is quite pleasant and suitable for everyday wear. Additionally, there are woody notes that fit perfectly with the lemongrass, specifically guaiac wood and amber wood. The mix of spice, citrus, and wood is the focus here, and it succeeds with a harmonious blend. This is further rounded out by musk and a very subtle leather note. The scent is rather masculine, as there is also a slight aftershave vibe coming through. Overall, it’s not too pronounced, so lemongrass lovers could definitely go for it. A great daytime scent that doesn’t stand out too much.
Performance is in a solid range, making it well-suited for everyday use. It lasts around 8 hours, with the latter hours becoming a bit milder than the lemongrass start and the first hours.
Overall, a great fragrance with a wonderful citrus-spicy aura with woody accents. I can recommend it for people who enjoy wearing understated fresh scents.
