A sample is all I need

Very woody and warm. The vanilla and smokey woodiness almost gives me a chocolate note and my partner actually said it reminded him of dark chocolate. This is dark and dense, but it does get fluffy and more vanilla after a few hours (this is like Vanilla Skin from Phlur's strict mother). Wouldn’t recommend if you’re a gourmand or floral girl as temping as it seems unless you know you’ll like a heavy sweet wood.

Smells like smoking wood

Initially I quite liked and enjoyed this fragrance. It starts off as a soft, smooth mix of vanilla, cashmere and palo santo, however as it dries down the scent gets stronger and stronger. I actually found it really overbearing as time went on. To me this is a really dry scent that becomes a deeper and smokier. It actually reminds me of “By the fireplace” by Maison Margiela which I really don’t like either. I don’t get any peach, just smoky, almost charred woods and vanilla. Someone actually described this as smelling like Cedar and I’d agree. It’s a shame because it had so much potential in the beginning. Maybe the new release of cashmere and vanilla will be better.

Cashmere & Palo Santo DKNY / Donna Karan - Free Foil Sample

I received a foil sample from DKNY. I don't think a foil sample is the best way to try a fragrance, as they don't seem to give the full scent. I did enjoy this fragrance, although I don't think it's that unique. To me, it smells like your standard vanilla-amber perfume, with a slightly woody base. I did enjoy the Palo Santo in the dry down. I found this to have decent longevity and moderate sillage. I think these would be improved in a spray bottle. It reminds me of a lighter version of Mugler Angel Elixir.
