Successful Pearl
I accidentally rediscovered my love for the scents of our western neighbors, the Dutch, two years ago. Especially the border town of Venlo, which is not too far for me, offers a fantastic selection of niche fragrances at all price ranges. One just has to overlook the rather opulent bottles. Our neighbors like it that way. I would love to drive over there again on a Monday morning. The town is empty then, as many shops open only in the afternoon, and you can still sense the charm of the old town by the Maas. But at the moment, everything is still a bit tricky with the regulations.
During my last visit, I discovered the fragrance Golden Pearl but dismissed it again. My husband knows my preference for fragrances, but he found my choice a bit too lavish. Next door, there was a reasonably priced drugstore scent.
On Thursday, I went shopping at Lidl. I couldn't believe my eyes. A display with fragrances for ladies and gentlemen for Valentine's Day, and testers included. Four scents from NG Perfumes from the Netherlands. Until now, you only found the La Rive plörre there. A brand that has slipped from once very good quality to quite low.
Since I know Golden Pearl, I put it and its neighbor named Femme, as well as the two men's fragrances for my better half, in the cart. For a mere 4.99 euros, it was no issue. In the Netherlands, the fragrance is at least twice as expensive.
Golden Pearl starts fresh and fruity with a gentle floral hint. Something like freesia and peony, but very delicate. It is followed by a floral spring bouquet of blossoms, but there's also a bit of the scent of grass in there. That takes away the sweetness. Sandalwood and a small trace of smoke make the fragrance creamy soft, but the flowers, as often happens, are not pushed aside. Gradually, the scent becomes creamier and lasts about 8 hours on the skin.
For me, Golden Pearl is extraordinary, but not intrusive or overwhelming. A fragrance that is always appropriate and also represents elegance. It has a bit of similarity to Coco Mademoiselle and Noa. A sort of in-between. Price/performance is excellent.
The bottle is named. Round matte glass with a golden cap. I like it a lot.
Just bought a refill, where the beautiful scent practically came to me. I would love to drive over to him again.
