Gentle Alien
The company NG is located next door in the Netherlands, a mid-range drugstore fragrance. The brand rarely makes its way to Germany, and then only as a special or clearance item. Here, in contrast to the Netherlands, it is frowned upon as a cheap scent. I was "next door" the other day and found this fragrance.
The unusual bottle alone captivated me. A dark purple obelisk. Simple yet striking. The golden cap is adorned with a triangular purple stone.
It was visually clear to me which direction the scent would take. Alien as a great role model waved hello. But I can't call this scent a dupe. More like a nice cousin. After an alcoholic opening, it becomes floral, sweet, and slightly powdery with a strong hint of anise or cumin in it. It could also be fennel. From the flowers, I detected jasmine and a bit of lily of the valley. Together with the sandalwood and other woods, it's a successful blend that becomes heavier later on. There's also a bit of patchouli, which I really like. Probably for that reason, the bottle is purple. Yes, the scent is heavy and herbaceous-spicy, but not overwhelming like Alien. Alien in a gentle form for spring and summer, and I like that.
In summary, it's a mature and independent scent that indeed bears resemblance to Alien. Longevity is about 3-4 hours, and since I don't like to drag a scent trail behind me, it's perfect for me. Alien is just too intense for me, and that's why I never bought it.
