Shaken neatly on the ear fig tree
After a long time we have again the topic "fig scent". Not a bad thing in itself when I think of Coros by Acqua di Sardegna or Phylisokos by Diptyque, for example. Both highly pleasant creations that sniff relatively authentically for the fruit or the leaf of the mulberry plant.
But as I was allowed to learn in the course of some tests, unfortunately there are a lot of blender and cheater among the fig scents. As of today, I must also count Marc Jacobs Men among them.
The reason for this is this exorbitantly dominant, yet very artificial fig imitation, which seems rather unpleasantly penetrating than flattering the nose with nature-identical fresh-fruity aromas.
Even the whole accessory, on the other hand, looks pale and does not compete with the plastic-like growth of the plant itself. Here perhaps a bit of citrus, there a hint of floral notes - and around it a slightly penetrating, cheap soapy water structure. Can be worn in an emergency, but I hope this will never happen.
The only thing I have to leave to the fragrance - and strangely enough this does not quite reflect the experiences of other perfumers - is the personal impression that Marc Jacobs Men, in contrast to the usual misshapen fig waters, does not convey a coconut note. Otherwise: there are soooo many great alternatives!
