I expected white cream/soap, I got pink floral body lotion
Expectations are dangerous, as one of three scenarios usually occurs:
a) Disappointment - the scent is NOT as expected
b) Confirmation - the scent meets expectations
c) Positive surprise - the scent does not meet expectations, but is still enjoyable
With "Out of the Shower Skin Musk | Overose," my expectations based on the notes pyramid were somewhere between Dove soap, maybe "You (Eau de Parfum) | Glossier," and "Marseille | Comme des Garçons." Something white, clean, perhaps a bit creamy.
Spoiler - scenario c) occurred. And strictly speaking, the pink bottle color that initially bothered me fits quite well. Because... *drumroll* ... instead of white soap, there is delicate pink floral body lotion.
Clean? Check!
Well-groomed? Absolutely!
Skin accord? Yesss, but by no means as extreme as in You Eau de Parfum
Additionally - and this is omitted from the pyramid - there are some pink flowers involved. Magnolia, cherry blossom, something like that. Nothing overwhelming, no monster rose or anything, but it is definitely floral, not clean/alderhydic soapy! And - and this is my only personal criticism - with a borderline sweetness similar to some "Fresh Flower" fabric softeners. I could have done without that, it prevents a "want to have" feeling for me.
Out of the Shower Skin Musk reminds me of a light version of Chance Eau Tendre Eau de Toilette or very much of "Angelica Florae | Roos & Roos / Dear Rose" - the latter is, despite having COMPLETELY different listed notes, in my opinion very similar (though significantly cheaper).
In terms of price, I find the Overose a bit excessive for what is offered, especially since the designer sector provides several alternatives. The longevity is in the normal range, not a powerhouse but also not fleeting.
