It's been a long time...

... since I got really positive and context-free feedback on my fragrance. Today with the Aqua de Dora it was just like before!
I remember when I first started wearing perfume. I bought the Versace pour Homme Dylan Blue Eau de Toilette "back then" and *unbelievably* two even distant friends were so enthusiastic that they kept asking me about it and even bought me the fragrance again.
When I started wearing a variety of different fragrances, however, the compliments became less frequent... i mean, it's not really that common to receive compliments, is it? Acquaintances who know about my interest in fragrances do approach me from time to time and give me positive feedback, but nothing more than that.

Finally, I was here on Parfumo and saw a forum post, 15% on a reputable fragrance site. I looked at it and saw that the price was already good anyway, the usual prices that Pana Dora charges were already undercut by 50€. I was shocked, maybe that's why the voucher doesn't apply?
Wrong thinking. I was able to get the Aqua de Dora for even less.
There was just one catch: I didn't have enough money in my account...
Oh, I'd also had Pana Dora on my radar for a long time and really wanted one, but I'd never had the chance to test it before.

Hmm... Blind buy?

I mean... maybe I'll be lucky and I'll like it and maybe my salary will arrive soon, then I can just about pay on time and have made the bargain of my life.

Too late! It's 00:03, 3 minutes too late, the discount code has become invalid because of all the hesitation, the shopping cart has just jumped up by 70€ to RRP.

What luck that the store has a partner site. Got the same offer on the partner site and it hasn't been updated there yet.

So... Blind purchase!

Two days later my salary arrived, I was able to pay in advance on time and now it was time to wait and see.

While I was waiting, I had a chance to browse through Parfumo. I quickly found out that many people find the fragrance similar to Turathi (Blue), but I only sold it recently because I hardly ever used it and didn't like it in some areas.
Well, if in doubt, I'll find someone who wants the fragrance if I don't like it.

The day came, I was out of the house and saw that the package had been dropped off at the post office. Will I get it tomorrow after all?
Well, I'm sure the day will still be great, I've authorized myself a car.
But when a family member came home from work, he had my parcel in his hand. The day could hardly have gone better! Two birds with one stone!

I take the cylindrical packaging from Pana Dora out of the box. A chic shade of blue, simple and beautiful. I open it up and there it is, possibly the most beautiful bottle in my collection: wow! The simple shape of the bottle with the high-quality blue label on the front. The impressive deer (?) head as the lid. The perfect blend of exaggerated flacon pomp and absolute simple class. A dream!
Test sprayer: good atomizer.

Finally to the fragrance:
It opens fresh with a certain citric quality, which smells less like lemon fruit and more, as the notes suggest, like lemon peel. I would describe it as a bitter-green component that conveys this peel scent. Grapefruit is also very noticeable. The whole thing turns into something fig with a little aquatic. Very pleasant. A woody component is constantly added in the heart and base, which rounds off the fragrance perfectly. It transports you to a seaside where you can sip cool water with a lemon on the rim of your glass and lie under a fig tree.

The similarity to Turathi (Blue) is definitely there, if you want to go cheap you should go for it. However, I find that the Aqua de Dora gives me exactly what the Afnan could not. The aquatic and citric twist is important here, as the Afnan works more with mandarin and a little more wood. However, if you don't know both of them well, they are already close to each other.

For me as a niche snob and flacon fanatic, the increase is definitely worth its weight in gold.

The fragrance is incredibly potent for a freshie. I did my usual spray routine of 5-6 sprays and it was 13 degrees outside.
We come to the point:
I was asked about the scent several hours after applying it by 2 fellow students and an exam supervisor.
"Marc, what are you wearing today, it smells so cool!" - sounds like a bad advertisement, but it was the exact words of one person. Incidentally, she only smelled me as I was walking past when handing in the exam, i.e. when 7 hours had already passed since I had put it on.
That really surprised me, in the morning I was still unsure whether I should really wear the fragrance or whether I should go for a slightly heavier fragrance like my "XJ 1861 Naxos | XerJoff" in the spring weather.

I guess it paid off, so the blind purchase and the application and the anticipation and everything else. The fragrance has it all and I don't want to miss it this summer. I hope this really long story has got you this far and was helpful enough for you to classify the fragrance.
