Can’t make up my mind
Eek, maybe osmanthus is not for me. Clashing, unpleasant leathery aldehyde that smells a bit cat pee-ish.

Edit: and then here I am on wear number 3 and I can’t seem to let this one go. After you get past the unpleasant first 25-45 aldehyde-addled minutes, this stuff somehow transforms into the most clean-girl floral-aldehyde scent. Soft, soapy, creamy floral with just a kiss of earthy musk.

Study on Osmanthus
I have been wearing this from a sample recently.

It's a beautifully done soliflore, a study on osmanthus: how to emphasise and accelerate the many facets of the flower one by one during the perfume's development. Supporting materials like aldehydes and honey are helping in this process, but they never take center stage, Mekha Aranya smells like osmanthus from beginning to the end.

It opens bright and sparkling, feels slightly oud-y at this stage, then it starts to sweeten with the peachy-honey notes of the flower getting more attention, and eventually it dries down to a cozy skin scent with the leathery tones of osmanthus in front and center.

Mekha Aranya is very accuratly named, wearing it does feel like wrapping yourself in a little personal cloud, diffused light shining through. From a sample at least the sillage is intimate but it follows you around the whole day.

One of the most interesting way to use Osmanthus
Absolutely interesting scent! It opens up in a very unique way with an addictive aroma. It's beautifully hazy yet fruity with a noticeable yet sensual leathery nuances not only from Osmanthus in the opening but in the base as well. On my skin leather takes a step backwards after the opening and even it is in base note it stays under Osmanthus Absolute. It's there but just a right kind of subtle whiff and honeyed Osmathus is very much like Apricot - not cloying at all which Osmanthus can be sometimes. The scent settles down into a soft and sophisticated bed of Sandalwood and soft Musk, a little bit creamy fruity smell.

In overall this scent is very unique. The list of notes is quite simple like is the scent itself but it keeps me all the time curious about the evolution of the fragrance. I think Osmanthus Absolute is here the hero and the note which which shifts back and forth like a chameleon from a subtle fruityness to classy leathery tones in it.

The concentration in this perfume is 15% and the bottle is ceramic. This is office safe and very attractive in hot weather as well. Yet, this is not a typical fruity scent in any kind of means. It's not juicy and it's not sweet.

The bottle may looks like childish if you don't know the history and an interesting story behind the picture. About the drawing and "animal" in it, from the brands website:
"Mhom, Mom” is a distinctive mythical creature, resembling a fusion of various animals. In some regions, Mhom may have a face resembling a mix of a cat and a lion or a dog with a gazelle-like appearance. Some variations may include a tail similar to a dolphin but with legs. While the features are not clearly defined, it can be summarized that Mhom is an imaginative creature blending characteristics from various animals, typically depicted with four legs. It is believed to have been influenced by Chinese art before merging with Thai local art.

This review is based on a sample but I have worn it many times during a couple of months.

Oh dear... It starts sweet and then smells like cow dung in the meadow... Sorry for this description - but it hits the nail on the head.

It could have been so beautiful if it weren't for the leather, some special animalistic note that just overwhelms and bothers me.
