Most dupes copy Dior Homme Intense, this one copy DHP.
DHP is Florentine iris, leather and sandalwood, but all of the ingredients are of the best quality, and so well blended....and the leather stay all the way to the end of the dry down. Sillage is great and the scent lasts at least 8 hrs on my skin.
Obsidian smells "kind of" like Dior Homme 2014 because there is a leather note, the main difference is the iris note, in Dior the iris is much more lipsticky, the iris feels smooth, polished, and unmistakably refined.
Obsidian's iris note is much lower quality.
The big problem with Obsidian is that it was manufactured to smell like Dior Homme Parfum 2014 for like a minute......thats why I bought it, I smelled in the shop; it really smelled like the original, ( well, a watered down version of it) after reading the reviews in here about the strong performance, I bought it, so I could use it to mix with the original......
Then at home I tried again, for a minute it smelled great and 80% DHP .....but after a minute it was more like Dior Homme Parfum 2025 and after 5 minutes smelled like a generic iris scent........the leather note was gone and in place of that, smelled like a chocolate note...after two hours I can not even smell anything on my skin.....
I felt tricked .......
This is NOT a masterpiece as someone wrote in a review........

Dior Homme Parfum IS a masterpiece, is a high quality scent with a very high quality iris note and Obsidian is far , far from it.......

It's not a bad smell, but it certainly isn't anything different or special either. For me this shares more the same dna with 9pm rather than actual dior homme. And the fact that people who hype this aren't even themselves sure which version of homme this actually smells like tells a lot i think.

The whole scent is linear, has hella a lot synthetic notes in it and overall it smells on skin and in air mostly like a 9pm with a small twist and less sweet...

You can buy this if you want, but there are much more better options out there than this. And I'd specially recommend paying attention more to the info about colognes like these, cuz the hype with these arab budgets is usually very coordinated than you would think. Don't be surprised if your negative comment gets multiple people shortly after disagreeing without much explanation why.
In short: Nothing competitively special nor different. There's better options out there. You can buy it if you want, but don't expect much, based on what most people hype about.

It feels like a confession of sorts to say that I have never owned a bottle of Dior Homme Intense. Not the iconic 2007 debt, its 2011 reformulation, nor its 2025 triumphant return. I've tried it many times on a tester strip across all three bottles and have never really got what it is about.

Rayhaan Obsidian is so true to the DHI DNA that it even has the same feel; that is to say, I never got DHI on a tester and I didnt get Obsidian either at first. Then I tried it on skin and everything changed. It was so good on the skin that I went to Dubai Mall a few weeks ago to try DHI 2025 on skin to see if it is indeed the same. It is.

Whereas Aquatica is a reimagining of Virgin Island Water but does it better, longer, harder and richer (but not as smooth or well-blended), Obsidian is as far as my New Nose can ascertain, as close to the original as any clone could be. I couldn't pick either one out in a blind test. Now, DHI is so well known that it almost seems redundant to go through the notes. We know we are getting this gorgeous, slightly intoxicating iris freshened with some citrus notes, smoothed out and enriched with some lavender over a very fine woody base. There is some leather and I feel like a bit of amber or something in the base too but these feel tertiary. The star of the show, the whole raison d'être is the lavender and the iris. Obsidian delivers all exactly true to Dior canon lore.

The talking point here, and I feel a hallmark of any truly great fragrance, is how it FEELS.

Obsidian sits just above the skin with a slightly more understated sillage than the original after an hour or so, but it matches it every step of the way in terms of actual longevity and how lovely it smells on the skin. Lots of people describe DHI as a superlative date night fragrance and you need to try it on the skin to properly understand that. Obsidian absolutely nails the brief here. It is a wonderful skin scent that projects just enough to embody the idea of "intriguing sillage.". It is gorgeous. I mean truly gorgeous. It is a fragrance I think most guys who have even a passing interest in iris as an accord should own.

But here comes the kicker.

I think Obsidian is too close to the original to justify keeping it.

If you like how it feels, then you should own the original. Aquatica is better than its original, smells a bit different and performs in a way the original doesn't, so you can justify owning it. Obsidian is exactly the same as its original pretty much. So that is why I've given it to my best mate and ordered DHI 2025. My view is that if something is a 1 to 1 copy and you love it, then you should own the original if you can, if money allows and if you have the opportunity. I'm not exactly flush with cash these days, but I am proud to say that I don't own any dupes that have no performance or olfactory advantage over their original muse, and I am not keeping Obsidian because of that. I love the DNA and the feel so much (and so does my partner) that I need to own the original. It is a fabulous creation and I want to support the hard work and creativity that has gone into it. Dior do not need my (or anyone else's) support but it is the right thing to do. I recognise many or even most will not agree with me, but that is how I feel. Am I being naive? Maybe. But that is how I feel.

yes it brings the smooth iris and leather from dior intense in play. I do find it similar to dior homme parfum 2025 and in between dior parfum 2014. i also sprayed around 10 sprays across my clothes and skin. i enjoyed it. i would go back and get whaffs of it and it was very nice scent. i got some compliments for it. It is also a bit colder here so i like how it pushes through the cold and settles on skin. I would like to wear it as a classy modern dress to impress scent.

The scent is masculine, creamy, a bit of chocolate and prominent iris, it becomes way more sweeter in the dry down, it sticks to the clothes and skin for 8-10 hours.

I think this is mainly a perfume for a guy that's no fuck buy or stuff like that, you have to dress properly for this, nothing fancy but at least a clean adult look, no young boys.

The sweetness is a bit too much for me, the leather is super sooooft but the sweetness dominates the drydown with the iris, it's a bit too "cosmetic" smell for me but I give it a solid 8/10.

For the price, it's a very good option if you like this DNA of Dior Homme.
I don't think this is worth more than 70-80 euros, (some influencers say this is a 300 euros scent).
