Rayhaan Aquatica Review/Compared to VIW

For the price, this fragrance is extremely comparable to the original Creed VIW. Opens with a bright, fresh cut lime note that is very addictive in the air. If you have ever had a limon paleta, it is that exact creamy but bright lime opening. The mid starts to indulge more into the coconut within the fragrance, it is a more coconut milk vibe, adding a little bit of creaminess to the fragrance, not in a lactonic way, but thickening up the bright lime into the drydown. The drydown is a lime-forward coconut milk, and I really love it personally. It doesn't go into that coconut sunscreen note that some people associate with coconut; it is surprisingly natural. I get 5-6 hours of longevity from my bottle, not amazing, but still an improvement from the original Creed fragrance. Doing a direct side-by-side, Aquatica has more lime to my nose, while overall being a more projecting fragrance. If someone smells this in the air, they're going to immediately know that it is Creed VIW. If they're familiar with the fragrance, it really is so close, maybe a 9/10 clone?

What a stunner

I personally love VIW by Creed. It’s a special fragrance that is just so easy to love and one that I find myself sniffing everytime I approach my fragrance collection. There’s something so calming and alluring to it. However, it is well documented what its major pitfall is- longevity. For all its stunning scent qualities, it falls short of any inkling of performance. It’s gone within 2 hrs, like it wasn’t even there. It also really doesn’t project much. It doesn’t fill a room either.

Enter Rayhaan Aquatica. I have waited for you for a long time. There were a few other attempts by different companies to get close (Malibu party in the bay, st barts, Hawaii volcano, etc) but none were as accessible nor performed as well. And if they did they were not really close to VIW and more of an inspired by type of frag. Also Malibu party in the bay is crazy pricey for a dupe and good luck finding it for sale.

Aquatica is about 97-99% there. It’s a little stronger on the lime note (some say it’s closer to the OG VIW, which I have never sniffed). But all the other parts of VIW are there. The coconut, white florals, and clean musk all find their way into the Rayhaan take and develop over time. Speaking of time, this thing lasts. It pushes for a good 2 hrs and then settles close to the surface. I sprayed my chest before bed and was pleasantly surprised to smell it in the morning. Without having to stick my nose directly into my shirt. So you’ll be able to detect it for at least 8 hrs on clothes. On skin a little less. Full disclosure, my skin is a bit dry due to cold weather, heater running, and my water softener system not working atm.

For the price this is an easy scoop. I got mine from BeautyHouse on TikTok. It’s less than $40. If you like that VIW scent or even enjoy a limey coconut scent this is very easy to like. And its performance is great. It’s not nuclear nor room filling. It’s just right. This bottle has incredible value at its price point. This is like Liquid Brun caliber. I might end up selling my bottle of VIW as it is now just taking up space on my shelf and have a much better performer on my hands.

Not for me

I like Creed VIW and have been considering it for a while. This scent came up that a lot of people recommend as getting close to the VIW DNA, so I was intrigued.

I blind bought a bottle and I was quite excited to try it out hoping this would be like a CDNIM-type of hit.

The opening I was hit was a blast of lemon and as it dried down I was getting hits of coconut mixed in. It's an okay scent in the air but up close it smells like cleaning detergent with coconut. I wore it a couple times to the gym and i could smell a lime/coconut bubble around me the whole time.

It's just not for me though at all. It's something I might keep for the occasional beach day as in the air it smells very playful but not something I'll reach for very often.

It's similar to VIW in the notes but VIW is just a much better scent - there's no comparison. This smells juvenile in comparison to VIW. For £30 though can't complain too much. It performs much better than VIW.

King of clone freshies

If a niche house sold this for $250, people would still snag Aquatica. It is that good. I'm not certain as to how this smells compared to VIW (old batch and new), but what I CAN tell you is that, assuming that this smells remotely similar, I have no need to try the OG. Aquatica is perfect on its own for me.

You get a beautiful lime and bergamot opening. The first 5 minutes or so may be rough, but that harshness quickly goes away, and what you're met with is a beautiful, almost cozy coconut and lime combination. You get a nice, subtle hint of that rum note further in the dry down, which is accompanied by a touch of sugar cane and musk. This really does evolve as it sits longer on your skin. Aquatica really is such a people pleaser. This is one of the few where the hype is well warranted. Hell, I'd say that it's underrated for the kind of juice quality you get.

Longevity is good for a freshie. I get no less than 5 hours of a strong scent bubble, with about 2-3 hours of fairly decent projection. Again, good for a freshie. Do not buy this expecting beast mode. Very rarely is a genuine freshie beast mode, and for those that are in that category, they may not be the most mass appealing. Aquatica is mass appealing. You'd be hard pressed to find someone that won't like this. It is not "heavy" nor cloying. It isn't exactly light and airy either. Instead, it's comforting, like a coconut hug.

Rayhaan Aquatica has now become a mainstay in my collection, and a signature scent for me in the warmer days and Philippines heat. I would suggest you all to get yourselves a bottle. Even if you don't like the notes listed, get it anyway for warmer weather. Aquatica is inexpensive enough to warrant having it in your collection.

Amazing cheapy

By far the best cheap and blind buy I have ever done!
Well, I am not sure how close it smells compared to Creed, however, by it's own, it's an amazing elegant smell, that I really love, also, if someone told me this is a creed creation, I would believe them because of it's pure elegant smell . The only bad thing about it is the performance, but to be honest I would not expect a high performance from such DNA.
