Afterhour I know differently
AFTERHOUR - "A perfume that captures that feeling which, together with the first rays of sunshine when leaving the dark club - still with ringing ears, sweaty garments, and smoky hair - announces the dawn of a new day and the winding down of the past party." That was what I had in mind when I ordered a bottle of Afterhour.
What did I expect? An extravagantly smoky scent, at times synthetic, at times chemically reminiscent, which would only be used on very special occasions. Unfortunately, this fragrance does not meet those expectations for me personally.
What is an exceedingly sweet-fresh and quite successful composition that vaguely reminds me of the Armani Code line with its characteristic gum note. The progression seems relatively linear to my nose. I do still notice a certain development of oriental notes (I think of Indian herbs and Far Eastern hand water). However, all of this is, in my opinion, far from a unique scent with recognizability and an association with the Afterhour atmosphere.
Personally, I will not wear this fragrance. However, I can certainly imagine that it would appeal to some people. I personally would attribute the scent more to younger adults. One definitely won't offend anyone with it, and even in the gym, one shouldn't stand out particularly.
One last thing: The bottle design is outstanding. A bottle cast in concrete with subtle branding. Super successful, tactilely interesting, and really nice to look at.
