Lovely and interesting

I did not like this on paper, but it's delicious on skin. The bitter citrus opening is nice, but the drydown is magical. I wish it had better projection, but the longevity is decent. The Maker DNA is subtle, sophisticated, unisex, and they all layer well with each other. Libertine is a really great summer fragrance.

They almost had me

Libertine opens up very bright, sharp, and refreshing, but this feeling dies down rather quickly. You still catch the zesty lemon and leafy greens on your skin, but it is not as potent + the woodiness comes through a lot more on my skin so the profile changes quite a bit. The woodiness is kind of dusty and dry, and I dont fully enjoy this aspect of it so I wouldn't buy a full bottle.

Mild, mild and then... men's cologne?

I'd be interested to smell starfruit in another fragrance (where it's front and center) as I've eaten this fruit a few times and it has a very mild sweetness with a very faint tropical aspect to it. I don't know how that translates itself into fragrance. I get a fruity, but very mild, tangy beginning where the ginger soon overwhelms the more shy fruits at the top. I also get a somewhat subdued green aspect. Overall, it's pleasant, but I feel like it's pretty generic and it doesn't really have any wow factor to it or anything unique to it. When the drydown starts coming in, that's when the whole fragrance takes a turn towards masculine territory. The vetiver and cedar get stronger as time passes and it's giving me fresh men's cologne with freshness. I no longer get any fruitiness.

It's not a bad fragrance, but it's definitely giving generic and laid back. I don't have anything against it, but I don't really have anything... going for it? Add to it the masculine aspect I get in the drydown and it's a no to me and my nose. On to the next!
