Powerful spicy-woody
I recently tested on the paper strip this masculin scent because it attracted me and not only for the temple-shaped bottle. In comparison with the more balsamic Roma uomo (classic version), this one is more powerful and strong, very spicy and Woody and extremely masculin, with a strong character and a good sillage. I loved it immediately.
I'd like to smell this scent on my man's skin!

Finer and more charming than twenty years ago
Essenza has a very high, perhaps almost identical recognition value as the original, which is already quite clear from the beginning.
They also wanted to use this and the similarly named women's fragrance for the 25th anniversary of Biagotti as a marketing tool and revenue generator.

The men's fragrance is much clearer and more commercial for the present time.
Also much spicier and rounder.

Due to the cedarwood, the scent is warmer and more wearable than the yellow original from 1995.

Biagotti has long belonged to Procter & Gamble, which is not a problem for me; I don't find this company so bad, but for many, it's a reason to quickly classify the perfume as poor.
Sure, Pampers, Plenty, and perfume are far apart, but all products are appropriate for their respective times....

Since I know Roma from back then, yes exactly from 1995, I was without prejudice, rather with a certain romance regarding the feedback from people.
I even thought that Roma was one of my first fragrances, where certain individuals, mostly female, wanted to know from me what it was exactly.

Also understandable, after 20 years I would have expected more innovation myself, but I believe they didn't want to alter the scent too much, but rather adapt the past to the present. Which has certainly succeeded.

Not as dominant anymore, not as intrusive, not as clear-cut.

But with a nice spiciness, a pleasant dry down that lasts longer than many others. Probably the vanilla and sweetness that seems so pleasant to me.

For an everyday scent that can really be recommended at any time, absolutely fitting.

As a novelty or trendsetter, it is certainly not suitable, as there are enough others.

Still, as a reliable value and companion, it is worth considering.

A Spicier Wind Blows Through the New Rome
Roma Uomo is actually a simple fragrance that is not often smelled on the street these days, even among Italians. However, it shaped a generation, even if Minotaur or Sculpture might execute the same theme even better!

Now, suddenly, the brand new Essenzadi Roma Uomo appeared in my perfumery, and I test it cautiously. Unmistakably Roma, the first hours are very similar. The scent is just a bit less sweet, spicier, and darker. Like Roma Night or Roma Seriös. Since I prefer sweet fragrances, I would choose the original, but the new one has its charm. Not an outstanding fragrance, but a good companion for the office or the evening.

The top notes are already citrusy and sweet, also fresh and soapy-clean, but you can already sense a certain formal vibe here. Perhaps due to the juniper or heliotrope, who knows. Fundamentally, there is also a vanilla base here, sprinkled with (spicy) fruits and a lot of sweet soap and warm stones in Rome's evening sun.

The bottle is quite a dull brown, but not so bad after all. The sillage was pleasant due to the toned-down sweetness level and not a monster like Roma Uomo in warm temperatures on some trains in Cologne. Longevity was really good at 8 hours!

Anyone who likes the original but wants to appear more serious and mature can definitely take a look here! But overall, I do doubt its justification, as it stays extremely close to the original... on the other hand, a flanker must also contain original DNA, otherwise it could just be a new perfume... a real balancing act for perfumers, and I am generally skeptical about the whole flanker concept! The fragrance is good, nothing more and nothing less!

The WOW Effect!!
A few words about this brilliant men's fragrance!
I've always been a Biagiotti fan!!
I find the Roma Uomo series was and is unique!
When the first Roma Uomo hit the market, I was immediately thrilled!
Such a scent has never existed, at least not for my nose!
A fragrance with a recognition effect!
That's exactly what I like!
Over time, the Roma Uomo was revised and lost some of its personality!
Until the release of Essenza di Roma
I found that really brilliant because it is very similar to the original!
It is a slightly heavier fragrance but very pleasant! The vanilla note makes the scent so perfect! Everything harmonizes perfectly, in my opinion!
However, I cannot understand why sillage and longevity only received 3 stars!
The scent projects well and is easily noticeable! And the longevity is really great!
All in all, a thumbs up fragrance????

Roman Renaissance
I often ask myself whether there really need to be variations of a good and successful fragrance, especially under the same name. Some scents bask only in the glow of the well-known name, yet remind too little of the original or are so similar that rehashing them without distinction seems pointless. With Essenza di Roma Uomo, however, this has been very well achieved - at least this time.

The marble of the packaging has turned out a bit darker and brown, almost chocolate-like. The bottle retains its column shape, still satin-finished, but the brown color either recalls the dark stone of the packaging or the woods contained in the fragrance. Some may even think of metabolic end products, but that would be doing the fragrance a great disservice. The silver cap provides a successful counterpoint and stylishly elevates the bottle. It is certainly not to everyone's taste, but it is not bad either.

With the first spray, one immediately recognizes the origin of the fragrance. While one initially tastes fresh and fruity notes of bergamot and mandarin, which still become noticeable after some time, the spicy and characteristically soft-warm notes of Roma quickly emerge from their cover. The Mediterranean spices in Essenza, however, are more balanced compared to heliotrope, the woods, and vanilla, providing clearer accents than one is used to with the classic.

Thus, the fragrance becomes somewhat lighter and more suitable for everyday wear. The absolute presence is still there and compared to many other current fragrances, it is quite immense. However, the fragrance has shed some of its heaviness and finds its volume in bitter, spicy, and slightly floral notes. The original character of Roma is immediately recognizable and can be promptly named. I like that, very much. Nevertheless, Essenza is still not a fragrance for every occasion and every season. For the warm season, it still has too little freshness for me, and for the office, it still has too much volume. Even with this edition, a moderate, if not humble, application is still required.

Roma experiences a small renaissance with Essenza. Although it leaves the sales staff a bit puzzled with its introduction in summer. Give it a little time. The character remains, it has just developed and expanded a bit. Extremely positive, in my opinion!

Not fruits or berries, not bubblegum, not cream, just a very Italian sweet. Not typical, but it has a slightly barber-like masculine feel.

It leans towards the original, but sweeter/ a few dark accents/ creamy-spicy notes complement it.

Famous Roma Uomo DNA reinterpreted. Less sweet vanilla and a bit spicier. A good daily scent from autumn to spring.

I liked Roma Uomo, not particularly well, but it was okay. In my opinion, Essenza is a bit more masculine..manly.

Spicy-woody sweet, with a refreshing green note that keeps the scent from being too sweet.

Over 20 years ago, I really liked this synthetic sweetness in the first Roma Uomo..but that time will never come back, 100% not!

A bit more rugged and masculine than Roma Uomo. Very, very close to the original. It's not worth owning both since they are quite identical.

Spicy, dark powdery floral with green juniper and woody notes. Moderately sweet, very intriguing. It's all in the blend. Italo-Orient!!

A Roma offshoot with more spice and less sweetness. Unfortunately, the Roma DNA is lost - no recognition among the current fragrances.
