Soothing Mint Cocktail for Muggy Days Indoors…
Normally, citrus scents have an invigorating effect on me. Sprayed on in the morning, they give you that first boost of energy. I expected this effect from Acqua Ice Eau de Parfum as well. It was a muggy day full of thoughts, and I didn’t want to leave the apartment. So I consciously reached for it for the first time. Not because it matched my mood, but rather because I wanted to give myself a kick in the backside to finally wake up. And then something completely different comes out of the bottle…
Acqua Ice Eau de Parfum starts with a very realistic mint note (which, by the way, lasts surprisingly long), which is nestled in a base of bright citrus fruits and ozonic woods. From the very beginning, there was no energy boost, no party cocktail with a few bits of mint thrown in; instead, there was an astonishingly calming dose of mint water that could organize my thoughts. The chaos in my head diminished, the clean note of the wood triggered my calming nerves, and almost immediately I could navigate the day better. I had imagined it differently, but I liked this surprise.
I perceive salty notes here only to a limited extent, more like something uplifting, like a sea salt accord that is blown around you on a windy day by the sea. Not unpleasant, always in the background and supporting the thought that you are enjoying a cooling and well-mixed drink on a mild yet breezy summer evening along the promenade, and then really switching off. No party, no loud conversations, just you with your glass in hand.
It lasts a good five hours indoors, and the sillage is hardly worth mentioning. But it has something; of all the Hermanos scents I have tested so far, it seems the most high-quality (only Exotic Moss Eau de Parfum can match it in that regard), and it is one of the few fresh scents that doesn’t pander to youth and instead has an almost therapeutic effect…
PS.
Is there a faint hint of Acqua di Giò Parfum in the background? That would at least explain the cooling aspect that the scent insinuates!
