The name says it all
Villa Erbatium is a young niche perfume brand based in Seoul, South Korea, founded by Minseo Ha and registered in the EU in 2022. The flagship store in Samcheong-dong, Seoul is designed like an alchemy lab and is worth a try on its own. The brand has gone viral on Tik Tok and has already released over 35 fragrances in a very short time.
I have already reviewed Bambini Soap, here is a fresh hotel bed linen fragrance. The fragrance was created by the perfumer Ha Minseo Caterina herself and belongs to the "Woody Floral Musk" fragrance family, with main accords such as soft powdery, floral, musky and woody-ambery.
Hotel Cotton has been available since 2024 and is not yet available in Europe.
For me, much better than Bambini Soap. They wanted to capture the scent of freshly laundered hotel bed linen in an elegant boutique hotel - clean, inviting, cozy. That would be Blanche by Byredo in a softer, more feminine and less synthetic version. The fragrance is truly reminiscent of luxurious hotel laundry flair. Soothing, clean and soft. Some people dislike the synthetic note that is often present in clean, pure and musky fragrances. A contemporary, mild "clean fresh" fragrance, without complex top notes or heavy gourmand notes.
Compared to classic soap or laundry fragrances, it is soft and warm, less clinical than many other laundry fragrances. Less sharp or cutting the air. It is a timeless, clean fragrance with a strong focus on cotton, musk and amber nuances - ideal for an understated, calming signature scent that is fun to wear day after day. All seasons, but clearly a daytime fragrance.
Silage is medium, longevity is 4-5 hours, which is very good for this fragrance family. It is easily perceptible in the first 30 minutes after spraying. After that, it becomes more intimate, more of a skin scent. Not a fragrance that fills the room - this is deliberately designed to simulate the feeling of freshly laundered bed linen, not perfume.
This feeling of sinking into the expensive bed linen of a luxury hotel can now be recreated at home. You still have to strengthen the bed linen for the full experience. A light vintage touch in the drydown here too. Minimal, yet present. You have to like musk. Drydown sweeter than opening.
Very classy luxury hotel soap vibes. Reminiscent of a historic, small brick hotel on a narrow street with lots of little craft stores.
I'm still undecided, I don't need the slight vintage note so much. Much better in my opinion than Eau de Coton by Guerlain.
