An Effervescent Happy Scent
I really love L’eau and find it can go from day to night with ease, but I just wish it performed better than it does now. When I was running low on my first bottle, I debated whether to forgo buying it at all and just stick to Eau Premier, as I get much better silage and longevity with that. But I so love the creamy citrus vanilla combo in L’eau. It is so uplifting and makes me feel fresh and clean no matter how muggy it gets outside. For that alone it is worth it for me especially during the dog days of summer.

Powdery Rose Bliss in a Bottle!
This is how I hoped Jean Brosseau's Ombre Rose would smell. But Ombre Rose smelled dated to me, as if it was a throwback to the 19th century. Rose Poudre has an elegant vintage appeal yet still feels very modern at the same time. What distinguishes this for me the most from Ombre Rose is that there is actual rose used here. In Ombre Rose I wasn't sure about that. I just sensed the rose, or rather, envisioned the rose, but I never really got the scent of rose outright. Here I get a bouquet of mixed, sweet, spicy roses wrapped up in a musky powder on an amber base. The combination of notes diffuse beautifully around me in an elegant, soft, powdery cloud. While the silage is low, it is always present, and something that I was not only aware of but could smell the whole time I wore it. This is not an intrusive scent either, as it will not impose itself upon others around you or scream PERFUME. People will just think you smell good.

Overall, this is only slightly stronger than a fragrance mist, but unlike something like that, has great longevity where a few sprays lasted and could be smelled throughout the day. It really is very pretty and I'm finding somewhat addictive, as I've been craving it more and more lately. And while I've sworn off backups because of the already ridiculous size of my perfume wardrobe, I just might make an exception for this.

A Refreshing Summer Staple
I received a sample with an order from Chanel and it was love at first sniff. Aromatic, citrusy and refreshing, that is lightly floral, lightly woody, lightly green. Everything is beautifully done and very smooth with no sharp edges. Overall, a very well-balanced scent. I am not a big fan of what I've tried so far from the Chance line, finding them geared more towards younger women, but I think this can be worn by anyone, of any age, and would smell great on a guy too. It's very elegant and sophisticated in its simplicity. Sometimes less is more and this perfume embodies that. Perfect for warm weather wear it has since become a summer staple for me that I can't imagine going without.

A Cozy Scent
The present-day reformulated Eau de Toilet is very nice. I used to have a vintage Eau de Parfum but my niece liked it so much I gave it to her. It smelled great on her too.

Missing it, I purchased the latest edt and couldn't be happier. Scent-wise, it isn't much different. Lighter yes, but composition, the same. Sure, it's not as rich as the vintage, especially since I had it in edp strength before, but it isn't as terrible as I was expecting it to be. Actually, for a reformulation I think it's very well done as it doesn't smell synthetic at all. I don't think it's outstanding or earth shattering, nor do I feel it's sultry or seductive, but to be honest, I never thought of it that way even when I had the vintage edp. I always thought of it as just a nice cozy scent perfect for chilly days.

Honestly, this really isn't my house as not many of their perfumes are appealing to me; but out of all the Cartier scents I've tried to date, (and I've tried quite a few), I think this is one of my favorites. Considering that this is a reformulation I think Cartier did a great job, especially in light of the restrictive confines they've had to work within today.

If you must get a vintage there are plenty of bottles available online; but if you like the overall scent and are not particular that a few little nuances might have been lost in the reformulation, this is a nice alternative.

Fresh Fruity Aquatic
This is a tropical aquatic that's light and inoffensive. I usually wear this in the summer after a day at the beach. I'm not a fan of ginger, but here is lightly done, adding a soft, spicy element that blends nicely with the citrus notes, melon, and orange blossom. I use this with the moisturizer and a misting of this after that smells great for a few hours, after which it disappears. While this is nothing outstanding, it is a nice, slightly spicy, floral scent that's very refreshing and helps to keep me cool when it is oppressively hot. I like most of the Calgon line except the sweet ones, but this is the one I always repurchase. I'll keep doing so unless Calgon discontinues it.
