An Extraordinary Treasure
Years ago, I had this fragrance as a sample and never forgot it because it had something truly special. I only remember that I used up the entire sample and was very sad when it was empty. Since then, it had somehow been on my wish list without urgency.
Now, I finally have it in full bottle size through a swap, and I now remember why I could never really forget it!!
Flowers & fruits in perfect harmony!
Yet it is also herbaceous and fresh with a hint of sweetness.
It is truly a treasure, a daily companion, and very underrated in my opinion. I knowingly have not smelled it on anyone I met.
The bottle is simply fun and very cleverly designed. Here too, it is very unusual. This faceted glass fits so well in the hand,
that you don’t want to put it down...a real hand charmer!
It is simply an all-around cheerful, colorful, sparkling fragrance with Japan vibes that can bring a smile to my face even in gloomy spring weather :)

Roma, my first love
Roma was one of the first great perfume loves of my youth, when I started to take an interest in perfume at all :)
I loved antiquity and was very much into Greek and Roman mythology, and at the same time, I fell in love with the music of Rondo Veneziano, which was so new and extraordinary back then "Classic meets Pop"... Amazing!
And fittingly, at some point, Roma by Laura Biagiotti also became part of my collection in this (which I thought was) beautiful column bottle.
When I smell my old bottle today, so many memories come flooding back. Roma is a classic... many other perfumes have come and gone over the years and were sometimes discontinued... but Roma remained.
I have always read about the bad, new reformulations and didn't dare to buy Roma anymore, for fear of being disappointed.
In recent years, I have discovered so many fragrances and briefly fell in love with some. But when I rarely smell my old Roma bottle, I have to say that it can still absolutely hold its own today. I find this scent somehow timelessly beautiful, and I think I will soon get one of those new bottles.
A tiny little one... to test it out :)
It would be nice if Roma could become my daily companion again... somehow I have missed it without even realizing it.
Addendum (one day later):
I have been searching for an eternity, like so many others, for my personal holy grail... the ONE perfume... the signature scent... my TREASURE!
And last night, after writing this review, I wondered what in the world makes a signature scent.
- The scent should have accompanied me for a long time, ideally.
- I should share beautiful memories with it.
- Everyone should recognize me by this one scent.
- I have loved this scent unconditionally for an eternity... and still love it today just as much as many years ago.
So what on earth am I still searching for???
Today, right after work, I went to a drugstore (where fortunately you can still get the lovely Roma) and bought a 25ml bottle to test (due to reformulation and all).
Barely home, I sprayed it on...
...and there it is again...
MY ROMA!!! ...MY TREASURE!!!... Welcome home :))
Roma is the most worthy signature scent in my entire collection!
And personally, I don't find the reformulation nearly as bad as it's portrayed in some reviews here... and the scent is (for me) still just like it was back then... unmistakable! Maybe I am a scent barbarian... but that's just how it is for me :)
The bottle is just as beautiful as it was back then, the liquid has a beautiful, harmonious color, and I also find the frosted glass delightful :)
On MY skin, I smell the old Roma... that's just how it is... and I indulge in it and am simply happy :)
It's really a shame that it seems to develop quite differently for some people.
I have finally (re)found my holy grail... and amusingly, it has actually always been there...
I am now ceremoniously adding it to my account :)
"Oh"
I wish everyone reading this review a moment when they realize that the best things are often closer than one might sometimes suspect ;)

Daymon caresses the soul
What can I say about this newly launched fragrance that does it justice?
Daymon arrived at my place today, and the bottle itself is an absolute dream... very extraordinary and unique. Each bottle is a one-of-a-kind, and I was very excited to unveil it from its high-quality packaging today.
You can immediately feel how much love went into bringing this perfume to life!
I am still very new to the world of niche fragrances, so I wanted to dive right in and take the plunge by ordering it directly from Mendittorosa in Italy.
There was no opportunity to test it anywhere yet.
First of all... I like it! I like it very much!
A very complex scent that develops beautifully on my skin.
Right after spraying, a very pleasant, mineral, and primal scent wafts into my nose.
I immediately think of stones... an entire sea of stones!
Then it continues with a not overly sweet cinnamon note, which lingers only briefly.
The fragrance evolves into a very soft, precious, and harmonious whole.
For me, it leans more towards the feminine side, but depending on the type, I could also imagine it well on a man in its later development (although there might not be too many men who would want to wear it - that's my spontaneous feeling about it).
My association with this fragrance:
I see a warm country.
There is a beautiful bay with glowing turquoise water.
This bay is surrounded by a large sea of rocks.
A campfire is burning... Someone has brought a guitar and is playing a cheerful song.
People are dancing freely and unconstrained through the hot sand, celebrating life.
And only when you embrace... very closely... do you feel Daymon gently on your sun-warmed skin, because Daymon can connect the souls of people.
...
This fragrance does not want to overwhelm or stand out. I find it very close to the body, beautiful, velvety, and soft.
Now that it has been breathing on my skin for a while, I can no longer distinguish individual ingredients. Perhaps I am not professional enough for that.
But as a whole, it is an absolutely special and extravagant fragrance that, for me, precisely because of its uniqueness and softness, has the potential to be a signature scent!
I have never smelled a fragrance like this before.
Daymon has no significant sillage, and thus I wear it, like a talisman, very close to me and share it only with the people who are dear to me.
Daymon is a dream come true for me.

Help, it bites me... a funny story :)
Ok, today I freed this bottle from a swap package from a dear Parfuma.
It was a blind swap... I was actually already skeptical about this perfume before the swap... Decadence... what a name and then such a silly little bag "pffft" (for me personally, one of the most terrible bottles ever!!)... so if there is a woman on this planet who is NOT a lady, then yes, that would be me!
But the curiosity was too great, so I swapped.
Well, as I said, I’m holding this ladylike little bag in my hand... spraying the concoction on my skin (No, no test strip, going all in, either fully or not at all ;) ) ... sniffing... oh God... it bites me!!
Immediately I have this dino in my mind that I saw yesterday in a really brilliant perfume photo. Yes - that fits... a little TRex is currently biting my arm... uargh... what was I thinking or better yet - what did I expect??
Hmm... ok... that was probably nothing.
I put the bottle in the dark cupboard (what you do with biting dinos), door closed... Parfumo on... it’s going into the souk... IMMEDIATELY!!
But wait a minute... very slowly... what’s happening on my skin? Is it getting gentle? Is the TRex falling asleep? Hmm... maybe I’ll give it a little more time. Let’s think.
But I have to leave soon...
I take it with me, why I don’t know.
I keep smelling it.
Again and again.
It is very strong.
It pulls me out of my cozy sweater.
Headache candidate.
I open the car window... I gasp for air.
Maybe I overdid it with 3 pumps.
And I keep picturing that little biting TRex in my head.
This image really fits like a glove!
I drive to my mother.
She knows me well.
She knows that between me and decadence lie worlds... light-years!
I show her the little green perfume bottle bag...
She: "Oooh how cute!!
...sniffs it...
"Oh yes - that suits you"...
I: "Whaaaat???... you can’t be serious - I’m shocked!"
That’s roughly how it went down.
Yes, and now I’m sitting here with the dino perfume bottle bag and don’t know what’s going to become of us... but I’ll keep observing it a little from the thicket ;)
And by the way... a big respect to everyone who has read this far, because I really wrote NOTHING, but absolutely NOTHING about the scent "haha" :))
But I just had to get that off my chest ;)

Beautiful Dylan Blue, cuddle up to my heart...
... or something like that :)
I keep smelling the Granny Smith note... and since I really love apple scents, I naturally enjoy perceiving it for a long time. No trace of blackcurrants. But I can actually smell the clover. Please don't ask me what clover smells like, but that's how I imagine it. The scent reminds me of something, and I can't quite put it into words yet. It changes constantly, is somehow not really tangible, yet fresh and extraordinary. I admit it's a bit synthetic... but I almost think I like that :) Personally, I don't see Dylan Blue on a businesswoman at all, but rather on a strong, confident woman who needs nothing more than her blue jeans, a simple T-shirt, and this fragrance! I grew up in the 80s and I see a movie in my mind..."The Outsiders"... the woman wearing this scent could be in it... alongside Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, and Matt Dillon. Hmmm... I'm really curious to see how the story unfolds with us...
