Where is the Frankincense?
What on earth were they thinking, taking a perfume that has so many fans off the market, only to re-release it in grotesquely altered form?

The surprise was great when I had the chance to snag a vintage version a few weeks ago. It reminds me a lot of the old Samsara, which is one of my absolute favorites. You can clearly smell the real, creamy sandalwood, and the fragrance notes listed here refer to both the old and the new version.
Unfortunately, the quality of the ingredients and the blending ratio of the fragrance notes have completely changed. Civet and frankincense (which must be included) remain subtly in the background in the vintage variant, while in the new version, it almost overwhelms you, so it’s best tested at -20°. The sandalwood has lost its radiance, which is always a clear sign of a synthetic substitute, as I have yet to encounter a good sandalwood surrogate.

Still, I must admit that it is an unusual perfume with a very high recognition value, which not everyone dares to wear, and you really need a strong presence and healthy self-confidence to convincingly convey the poisonous sillage and longevity.

The top note doesn’t play a significant role here. Primarily, I perceive heliotrope, jasmine, rose, benzoin, sandalwood, tonka bean, vanilla, cedar, civet, and the unlisted frankincense.

I give the unreformulated version 100%, while the reformulated one gets "only" 80%, because it is still a special perfume, albeit not wearable by everyone, which unfortunately could not match the old quality.

6.2.2014: The current bottle looks a bit different again. I will test at some point whether the fragrance has been reformulated again.

More of a Crazy Rose
I would have never thought to test perfumes that already have the word "Rose" in the brand name, but thanks to Don's sample set, I have now had the pleasure and absolutely do not regret it.

I always found coriander to be strangely soapy and couldn't imagine it in fragrances until now. However, in "Une Folie de Rose," it is used so cleverly that, in combination with Ylang-Ylang, it creates a synergistic connection that could easily last until the end, but unfortunately, it smells almost like "Stella" in the dry down, which is almost boring again.
Almost ... because the base notes prevent it from drifting too much into the generic, and the coriander-Ylang symbiosis makes a subtle appearance towards the end.

Longevity and sillage are not overwhelming, but for a perfume in this category, they are quite good, and I am now curious about the other fragrances from Les Parfums de Rosine.

A successful perfume for young and old :-)

Safe to Use
All four fragrances from Sentifique that I tested start with a strange, aquatic-metallic-medical note that at times reminds me a bit of oud.
Fortunately, this note disappears after half an hour and the fragrance notes merge into a very beautiful, creamy composition.
I can clearly perceive all the listed fragrance notes, and if the longevity and sillage weren't so weak, this would definitely be a candidate for purchase for me. Unfortunately, I have to pass.

More Being than Appearance
I bought DLHN based on the high rating and of course because of the fragrance notes, without testing it beforehand. Only later did I notice that longevity and sillage were rated at only 50%. If I had seen that earlier, I probably would have hesitated.
Well .... that person must have been nose-blind, because the sillage is very strong and the longevity with 10 hours (2 sprays) and only slightly diminishing projection for the price (and also independently of that) is quite satisfactory.
Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the two specified flowers, as I am not familiar with the scent of the trumpet vine and I can't remember the saffron flower - Spain was a long time ago ...
The strong sillage is clearly due to synthetic sandalwood. The whole room smells of it and I find it pleasant.
The bottle (without inscription) looks good on the shelf when you turn the press label to the back :-)
A very feminine, floral-sweet fragrance that is very well received by my surroundings.
Definitely worth a test.

Edit:
After the 2nd spray, I unfortunately have to revise my rating and go from 90 to 70%. This fragrance is unfortunately very synthetic, although not bad, but it annoyed me during the 2nd testing. However, as a closet, room, or laundry scent, it's great :-)

Drizzle
Here again, the typical earthy Demeter scent note repeats itself - this time leaning towards "Dirt." Slightly aquatic at first and then the obligatory Demeter flowers return.

As expected with this fragrance, the sillage is strong at first, then disappears after a short time, but when you want to completely remove it, it resists.

Creepy!
