Undeniably Coco Mademoiselle but with Less Citrus
Well, I finally stopped by Macy's today and tested CMI. As many reviewers have said, it is very close to CM EdP. The biggest difference is that the citrus has been toned down in the Intense formulation, and that makes it a bit smoother (and thus more acceptable to my nose). At least that is the main difference as far as I am concerned. I cannot tease out notes of amber, tonka, vanilla, or even rose, but I could identify it blindfolded as CM. Personally, I like it more than CM EdP simply because the citrus is so much less stringent.

Re performance, projection and sillage are very good. Longevity seems to be quite good, too. For the price point, it is a good fragrance with better than average performance. In fact, it out performs my recently purchased Frederic Malle fragrances by a mile. (Make of that what you will.)

However, if I wanted to recommend a Chanel fragrance to someone, excluding the exclusives, I would recommend both Coco EdT and Coco EdP over any version of Mademoiselle. Mademoiselle is certainly a nice fragrance, but there are so many nicer fragrances from which to choose. It is worth testing in any case.

Fragrance: 7/10

Projection: 8/10

Sillage: 8/10

Longevity: 8/10

The other Chanel’s sit down when she enters the room. Period
This was the second Chanel in my collection. I had been turned off by the heady aldehydes of no 5, but boy am I glad I did this fragrance.

First thing is first, on me, this fragrance needs to be applied on recently cleaned skin It’s top notes are fresh and citrusy with a sweet floral note that comes through as the fragrance warms. The lime is clearly identifiable in the bergamot and makes it quite a fresh but comfortable scent. just 4 sprays, once on each wrist and in the crook of each elbow.

It’s about 2 hours after I first applied the perfume, it has taken a slightly sweet, slightly edible, slightly bleachy scent. The bleach effect fades leaving the smooth sweet scent of a cocoa and patchouli aroma in the crooks of my elbows. When i first bought this(as a safe blind buy) I wasn’t wowed by it but needed a fragrance that would work for spring and the office... which this does i believe. Some people might find it too much in a close setting, but it’s butter smoothness and inoffensive composition makes it a remarkably safe but noticeable concoction.

After 4-5hrs it becomes a skin scent to my nose, however others tell me it is still there, and beautiful. After 8-9 hrs the scent bubble is much smaller but whiffs of it catch you at random moments. It becomes a lovers perfume, one where only those in bed with you can smell it too. I took a shower, my OH can not stand fragrance in bed sadly.

Deeper, darker, smoother, and more refined
I adore the EdP version and have for many years, but this is somehow even better to me. It takes out what I criticize and amps up what I love about the EdP.

As soon as you spray, you are hit with the unmistakable Coco Mademoiselle orange. But this time it’s stronger, smoother, and sweeter than the EdP. It loses its bright, brash start, but not to its detriment.

Soon you are greeted by a lush floral heart—one that is richer than what you would find in the EdP. I detect more rose than anything.

After a while the patchouli kicks in, and it’s much more abundant than in the EdP. If you love patchouli—especially Chanel’s style of patchouli—than this is for you. The base wears more earthy and less musky than the EdP, which I much prefer.

It’s hard to improve on something as popular as Coco Mademoiselle, Olivier Polge really knocked it out of the park.

Is this a strong perfume? Yes. Is the sillage that much greater than the original? Not really.
Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense opens up with less of the orange and other citrus notes, than the citrus had, but with an even stronger initial punch. While this is the intense version, to me, it isn’t that much more powerful than the original Coco Mademoiselle.

What I do get more of in the opening act is patchouli and amber. The citrus is there, but that bold and juicy orange is tamped down, and seems to share duties with other citrus notes much more so.

Intense is pretty heavy on the patchouli note, which I don’t usually love, but it works very well within this composition. The perfume has plenty of sweetness and smoothness from the vanilla, amber, and tonka bean notes.

Moving deeper into the wear, the jasmine and rose begin to come through more. In this edition, the jasmine still has predominance over the rose, but the rose is present and noticeable.

Again, the original is not only more citrus dominant, but also has a greater use of the floral notes.

Mademoiselle Intense finally finishes its development with an amber, patchouli, and vanilla blend. I do still get jasmine on my skin, at this point, but it’s basically just supporting those three notes.

More Wearable
I have Coco Mademoiselle EdT, EdP and EdP intense. I am not very fond of the EdT, I like the EdP better, but the best and most wearable, in my opinion, is the EdP intense. It has a simpler, far fresher expression and it goes with every occasion. It starts out beautifully fresh/citric with a lot of summer vibes. It turns more rosy/powdery after half an hour and finally it shows the ‘intense’ with the tonka bean and the vanilla. The patchouli in this is far less dominant, which I find charming. I suppose that is why I have difficulties with wearing the EdT, which is all about patchouli. The EdP is way better with the lovely dry down and Intense is even better.
I recommend trying Intense - fresh as a summer night and strong as a sunbeam.

Surprisingly delicious. Wait for the 30 minute mark then the differences between Intense and OG really start to show. I love the patchouli/ vanilla

It's all fruit juice and cotton candy. Coco Mall-rat. In the late late drydown the Mademoiselle returns.

Beautiful patchouli perfume. This is timeless. Customers usually prefer this to the original. Smell great in the air and men love it

If you are someone who prefers patchouli and vanilla, this actually might be the Coco Mademoiselle fragrance for you.

I wished more Vanilla and an extra depth + darkness from Patchouli so this would have been different enough compared to the OG. Not bad tho.

Beautiful women's fragrance - it has no flaws. Citrus, flowers, jasmine with roses, and the base of tonka beans, vanilla - long life.

This is nice but it’s a bit flat. I prefer the EDP as if feels like it has a bit more going on. This also seems weaker. Not for me

Deeper, woodier, smoother, and less musky than the original while remaining recognizably Coco Mademoiselle.

Sadly not my cup of tea at all. The opening reminds me a bathroom freshener, the drydown feels heavy and cloying to me.

Deeper but not heavier: this edp keeps its gentle ,discrete, classy character for a touch of feminitiy in the colder season or by night
