Magic Incense Shop
I was overjoyed when I held the Discovery Set from Nishane in my hands for my birthday. I had wanted to try Ani and Woolong Cha for a long time and was also curious about all the other treasures. Because one (and only one) would be allowed to move in with me as a full bottle. Which one would it be?

My heart was captured by Nanshe. It was my soul scent. Do you know that feeling? Most perfumes are like a pretty costume. With one, you feel a bit more feminine, another sparks activity. Yet another soothes or inspires. And then there are those that just don’t seem to fit you at all...

Nanshe, on the other hand, belongs to those scents where I feel that I and the fragrance are one. Not forced. Just a second, more expressive version of myself...

Nanshe reminds me of a fair-trade shop or an oriental knick-knack store. A bit dusty, the air heavy with the sweet scent of incense sticks. But not scratchy. More powdery soft. The dry down is super warm, sweet, and there’s something fruity in the air without acidity. At the beginning, it has a hint of overripe banana for a few minutes - I actually don’t like that very much - but that’s just a moment of 3-4 minutes. Then the fruity sweetness remains and wraps itself in this oriental woodiness. Powdery. Gentle.

I’m not a fan of the bottle. It looks very bulky and I don’t like the color. I would have preferred gold, red, and orange instead of this beige... But I’m not going for a walk with the bottle; I’m just taking its wonderful contents for a stroll...

My conclusion: Ani will probably have to move in with me as well, but this Nanshe had to be the first. And it’s also the only fragrance I’ve ever been approached about. However, I wouldn’t recommend it as a blind buy.

Dali wanted him to stay...
I love art and painting. My art teacher in high school was such an inspiring woman that painters would rise from the grave, lively and eccentric, when she told their biographies. Salvatore Dali has fascinated and captivated me for years...

How surprised I was when I received this little gem as a sample from the Advent calendar by pafory.

What an intoxicatingly sweet scent. I mainly get the fougere notes and the honey. Along with the slightly sticky fruity sweetness of apricot and dried plum.

It lasts very well on the skin. On clothing, it lasts forever.

And now the tragedy: I think it fits perfectly with Dali's surrealism. Because for me, a distinct note emerges that I recognize from collecting urine. I am inconsolable. I gave it three days to prove itself, thought I could get used to it. But no way. I had to wash all my clothes. This urine note is unbearable.

Conclusion: It should definitely move in as a full bottle with me. But we cannot be together!
All the other notes are sooo beautiful. Definitely give it a try! Just know it is definitely not a candidate for a blind buy.

The Cucumber Perfume
This scent actually has nothing to do with cucumbers, but since I perceive it more in the color green and my partner doesn't remember names, rather nicknames for the perfumes I assign him, it has become our "cucumber scent."

I bought it right at the beginning of our fragrance journey for men's scents. Because the bottle has such beautiful shades of red and my partner loves red... a blind buy, then...

And then the rude awakening. It smells so much like my father's Trabant garage on paper that I was left wondering if I nostalgically love it or actually despise it in reality.

I then tested it on many men in my circle to find out who ultimately likes it, so I wouldn't throw my money out the window... you know what I mean.

And lo and behold: In the end, it develops wonderfully warm and resinous on my partner's skin, and we won't part with it! The slight leather note fits both in summer and winter - especially when he wraps himself in his expensive leather jacket again. With this scent, you don't need a heavy motorcycle. It's heavy, angular, testosterone-filled, and masculine on its own. Without being brutal. A blind buy that I truly celebrate in hindsight.

Back to Childhood
I unexpectedly stumbled upon this little treasure of childhood... It was in the 2022 Advent calendar from Pafory...

The scent is pure childhood for me. This is how Dad and Grandpa smelled when we went out nicely... Sweet, incense-like, elegant, aftershave... there’s something light-golden in the fragrance. It reminds me of "Cola with Lavender," even though no lavender is listed. It creates a cozy feeling when wearing it - it warms, envelops. A true crowd-pleaser...

For me, it’s a little discovery, as I usually don’t pay attention to vintage scents. But I will probably track this one down in at least a small quantity somewhere. Even though the bottle with the pebbles is appealing. I also don’t find it too masculine and will wear it myself.
