Spa Like Embrace
This is a new favourite and I don't say that lightly.
I've been a gourmand lover for years but as time has gone on, I've started appreciating more green and aromatic scents.
I was specifically looking for something that smelt like Champneys - Slumber, Awake and Calm, but perfume (seriously Champneys, you are sleeping on some major money by not making even EDT's!). Mon Guerlain Intense, is pretty close to Slumber.

There's a large plume of lavender, bergamot and patchouli initially.
But it quickly dies down into what I wish it would remain, as intensely, for longer. A beautiful powdery iris, gentle, sweet vanilla and resins, musky, soft lavender and a tonka blanket. It smells like a spa. Like Slumber. A luxury spa product that doesn't give you a headache, it envelopes you and increases and depeens as you warm up.
The base is warm resin, wood, vanilla and musk.

It doesn't shout or demand attention, but you can't stop smelling it or chasing it on your skin. The lavender, patchouli or floral notes aren't headache inducing or too powerful. The lavender smells like French Lavender. Sweet and powdery, as opposed to English Lavender which tends to be soapy.

On clothing you get a much more clean and crisp fragrance from the bergamot, lavender and jasmine notes. It's much fresher. On skin it's divine. Both together, fantastic.
I only wish Intense meant longer lasting, as it seems to fade to base super quickly and become almost a skin scent.

This is firmly a new obsession. I hope I can find a fragrance that is stronger, has more lasting power, but the same balance. I adore this as is though.

Musky set honey
I really enjoy this. It's a true honey, like cloudy set honey, with the pollen type musk, a little like Tokyo Milk - Honey and the Moon but less sweet.
I don't really get what's Arabian about it. The date notes probably deepen it and make it richer but is indistinguishable. It's a well balanced honey musk, made a little fresher with bergamot and slightly floral due to the white flowers and pollen.
More feminine leaning.
I think overall it's a really well balanced fragrance.
Arms length projection and fairly long lasting.

Smoky, leather and wood
Not a safe blind buy.

I wouldn't say this fragrance is true gourmand for those looking for a gourmand oud fragrance like others by Montale, as Arabians Tonka is. It's a mature scent.

The pineapple is minimal to my nose in the middle and base, as is the coconut and vanilla. Top notes are a bomb of juicy charred pineapple but quickly fades. The leather and wood are smoky and the strongest and longest last notes, possibly the saffron and cinnamon too although I dont really pick up on these notes. They are all offset and made lighter, less overpowering and a little sweeter by the cinnamon, vanilla and slight creamy but almost undetectable coconut.
This is a very unisex fragrance, maybe even slightly masculine leaning.

It's not sickly or overpowering as I was fearing. It doesn't screech, but as typical for Oud it is rich, deep, and smells expensive, but all the notes seem to balance well.
On skin it isn't the longest lasting, probably 8 hours. It radiates arms length to intimate. On clothes and hair it lasts a lot longer. 12 hours plus.
Top notes until it fades to middle and base could be considered slightly medicinal.

This is a good evening fragrance or for special occasions. I'm unsure how it will perform in summer as I originally attended.

Musky Honey
This is a true honey fragrance. Like a jar of set honey. The iris and wood lends to a powdery musk. It's sweet but not too sweet for me.
It lasts a long time on clothes and the longevity is good on skin. The projection is good too, within arms length at least. I imagine it leaves a nice trail.
I love the Tokyo Milk branding and the packaging is beautiful.

Nag Champa
This is what I've been looking for in an incense fragrance, although looking at the notes you'd never think incense.

The opening is Nag Champa which I love. The bitter almond middle does have a slight medicinal quality and is indeed a little bitter which could be unappealing, however on me I feel it is balanced and manageable. The base is what I would have wanted from shalimar. Think of the opening of Shalimar plus the dry down mixed with honey. Spicy, powdery, warm and resinous. If you want to smell like Nag champa incense this is very close.
The projection is outstanding. I'm an over sprayer but I definitely shan't be with this perfume.
The longevity is also excellent. Good for this autumn and winter. I'm not sure how it would perform in warmer weather but with 100mls I'm sure I'll find out.

I really enjoy this. It's much more sophisticated than I had imagined with depth, warmth, sweetness and meditative qualities.
