Transcendence
"the crossing of the boundaries of experience and consciousness, of this world"

"beyond experience, lying outside the tangible"

....these would be two definitions that attempt to grasp the concept of "transcendence." Both definitions can be wonderfully applied to the fragrance from Prada. Here, something occurs that breaks through the mundane and brings a hint of the beyond. The scent does not feel of this world; it elevates, transports the consciousness, allowing one to glide into cloud-like heights. It is so incredibly light, as if it were not a fragrance, lighter than air, one can hardly describe it...

What does it smell like exactly?

At first, not so intense...funny enough, I don't really like the opening, it smells like...hold on to your hats: marzipan :D

But after 10-15 minutes, it takes off into space!!!

A delicate veil of musk, mineral notes, and extremely well-measured Ambroxan envelop you and draw you away from the here and now. A masterpiece of a fragrance veil, so delicate, clean
and yet perfectly wearable for men. Additionally, minimally perceivable woody notes underline the whole experience and add a bit of edge. By the way, I don't think it has much in common with "Luna Rossa Black | Prada," that one is much too coarse compared to this. Also, in terms of longevity and sillage, I disagree; Cargo de Nuit lasts all day for me, and the fragrance veil reappears from time to time. My surroundings also perceive it extremely well and can't get enough of it. However, it must be said that it remains quite linear in the mid-development. This is bearable due to the wonderful scent ;-) The musk-Ambroxan drydown comes out beautifully in the end and remains noticeable on clothing for days.

The price? Okay, it's steep...I was always lucky on Vinted or got it here for just under 200 euros...but that is still enormous. However, I must say, you get a unique piece; I have never smelled a similar, elevated (in a good sense) fragrance...

How did you like it?

Melancholy
I have been in the perfume testing business for a long time, but Platinum Égoïste Eau de Toilette only came into my view quite late. Why? No idea, as I have always been a fan of fresh scents. This one is more of - or almost - a historical relic, a fragment from the 90s, the time when I grew up. Nevertheless, in my opinion, it has gained more beauty than the often-used label "old school" would suggest.

What is so beautiful about it? It is somehow melancholic, a fresh scent that wants to bring to mind the time without mobile phones, the internet, and so on. A time when CEOs were still called managers or bosses, and cars didn’t talk back. You see, sometimes I do like to reminisce about that time!

The freshness here is not the dry Aventus freshness of the 2000s, but rather a somewhat sweaty-mossy-lavender freshness. One that wouldn’t even claim to be fresh itself :D this fresh-green-spicy note is what I love about the scent, a sensual nostalgia in a bottle. Moreover, it is a real beast on me, lasting easily all day and being perceptible around me for at least 6-8 hours. It allows me a long-lasting time travel to my youth. And I want to emphasize once again: it does not feel old school! Long ago, houses like Kiton with Red have reintroduced this "90s freshness" into the here and now.

This scent must and should never be discontinued... it is wearable all year round, incredibly beautiful, and apart from the cheap bottle with the strange cap, simply great.

Intimate Summer Heat
I don't often write complete reviews anymore, only when a fragrance inspires me so much or has a distinctive feature worth describing.

First impression...
What stands out immediately here is the brilliant spray head, which places the fragrance wonderfully - and truly uniquely - on the skin. This one has achieved that remarkably well. Additionally, there's the high-quality, heavy bottle in a vintage stripe pattern. The first impression - before you even smell anything - is therefore completely positive! You get the feeling that this must be a valuable little essence.

Summer heat...
...and this feeling is confirmed by the fragrance. I have rarely experienced such a wonderful, intimate, soft, and rounded olfactory experience (possibly with the Helmut Lang fragrances). Similar to Helmut Lang's scents, I am enveloped by a delicate, powdery-citrusy cloud, in which juniper, pepper, and cypress are distinctly noticeable. It feels like an old-school cologne that has been modernly interpreted and enriched with natural ingredients. Very elegant, yet intimate and familiar at the same time. Moreover, it is practically always wearable, whether in summer or winter. However, it is the summer heat that brings out the best in it. Here, the longevity and sillage are significantly extended. I'm wearing it today at 27 degrees, and it really shines. It pulses and reappears, especially when I sweat. You feel like a sweaty Italian gentleman (sorry for the outdated image, but that's how it is...) in an Italian metropolis sipping espresso. I do not perceive the distinctly synthetic base at any point - not even in the drydown. They seem well woven and rather support the H/S.

Intimacy...
I particularly like the described intimacy; it conveys a sense of warmth and security while simultaneously exuding a certain erotic tension. I had the film "Call Me by Your Name" in my mind the whole time, which takes place in the sweltering heat of Italy, and the passion of the two protagonists could be expressed through this fragrance. Under the Italian sun, powdery-fine scent clouds waft around, emphasizing the erotic tension between the actors.

Conclusion...
A truly wonderful, rounded, natural fragrance that on some days certainly resembles a cologne in terms of H/S. In return, you get a masterfully woven olfactory experience that transports you to another world. Especially on hot days, it performs extremely well and pops up under the nose from time to time (I love that!). It is therefore ideal for the office, work, and all leisure activities. I only see the fragrance as unsuitable for a very young audience.

Have fun testing!

Denmark
What does Kiton Red have to do with Denmark?

VERY VERY little...except for the colors red/white, which can also be found in the Danish flag..Moreover, I am currently in Denmark and, typically for the country, it is raining, so I have time and can finally write a detailed comment again!

BUT...
How did I actually come across Kiton?

Actually, in one of my many perfume sample orders, there was a sample of the original Kiton Men...and what can I say, I was already smitten! A quick search on Parfumo revealed that there was a small amount of new Kiton fragrances, and RED sounded the most appealing to me based on the statements. So, I quickly ordered samples and later also a bottle. That bottle can be described as quite valuable, albeit elegantly minimalist (fitting for Kiton clothing).

The scent itself is already special-non-special :D
It is quite linear and without extensive complexity, but it is valuable and of high quality. To categorize it, I would describe it as classically spicy-fresh; it carries something sweaty-metallic within it, which I associate more with old-school fragrances like "Dreamer" or "Nightflight." However, luckily the freshness prevails, and the aforementioned sweatiness stays skillfully and perfectly balanced in the background. The violet note will certainly contribute to it not appearing too fresh and gives it a distinct masculine touch. If I were to assign the scent to a type of man, I see a well-groomed, sporty, shirt-wearing Italian lover in an Italian metropolis (Sorry, I couldn't capture it better). So it is indeed a scent that may seem odd to fans of sweatpants ;-)

As already mentioned, Kiton remains linear until the end! The longevity is well-balanced at 7-8 hours, and the sillage ratio is PERFECT. It projects, but not too much; rather, it releases a little cloud to the surroundings every now and then. That's how I like it best!

However, the price is something to swallow. 250 euros (without any prospect of discounts) makes it a real investment...

For me, it has been very worthwhile, and I hope you have just as good experiences with it!

Best regards

Benedikt

Compliments, Compliments, Compliments
It's so crazy, when I look at my somewhat high-quality fragrance collection, where each scent was carefully chosen and is allowed to stay, it's my CHEAPEST fragrance that EVERYONE likes...

Just today was another one of those situations:
I was eating in our cafeteria after work when a colleague approached me, lingered briefly next to me, and said that I smelled fabulous. The CRAZY part is, I had been wearing 9PM for 7 hours already! Consequently, it not only has a great scent aura but also an enormous longevity and radiates beautifully.

If you want to describe the fragrance, it can first be noted that it is very similar to Ultra-Male. However, it should be added that 9PM appears significantly fresher. It lacks the heaviness of Ultra-Male, which I, as a fan of freshness, find fantastic. Otherwise, we are dealing with a sweet-fresh-spicy Tonka-vanilla mix of the classic kind. The base DNA seems to be something one has smelled before at first whiff. However, Afnan has managed - consciously or unconsciously - to incorporate a fresh-sparkling lightness. The scent can thus be worn in almost any season and by any age group. One smells, on one hand, freshly showered, but also sensually masculine. You can hear my enthusiasm.

The price is ultimately a TOTAL BARGAIN, I paid just under 25 euros including shipping for 100ml and have been wearing it for a week - which is rare for me - up and down. There’s something ADDICTIVE in this little potion, do you know what it is?

By the way, there were two more situations where I - again at work - was complimented on the fragrance. And before that, it had only happened to me once in 4 years at work that compliments for fragrances were received :D

Compliments, Compliments, Compliments, that's all I can say!

Thank you for reading

Bene
