THE ONE! FINALLY!
As a big fan of the "Le Gemme - Tygar | Bvlgari" DNA, I am, of course, familiar with all the alternatives that the market has to offer today. However, with some of these variants, something just never quite fit for me:

With Rosso Pompei, it was the strict woody undertone; with Vibrato, it was the overly synthetic and completely overpowering floral notes that gave me headaches in the heat; with Aqua de Dora, it was the developing dryness in the drydown; and with "Le Gemme - Tygar | Bvlgari", it was the longevity and simply the completely unjustified price.

It seems that this new fragrance combines only the best components from all these variants. For me, it’s an incredibly rounded, fruity-fresh, almost tangy and invigorating olfactory experience that accompanies me and those around me all day without being intrusive. It embodies good mood and positivity in a bottle, which can be worn by absolutely anyone, is liked by everyone, and still brings a distinctive uniqueness.

Compared to the mentioned alternatives, this fragrance offers an incredibly worthwhile price-performance ratio, which easily catapults it to the top spot among fragrances of this DNA.

A very strong release from WIDIAN! This will be my summer signature for the upcoming summer. I already can’t get enough!

You Found Me!
There are some scents that we are introduced to as children we never forget! Hot summer days, the bubbles and fizz tickling our nostrils as we open an ice cold Ginger Ale! You found me as an adult and I am so thankful! Yes, Widian Ginger takes me back to my childhood and I love the simplicity and the direction of the perfumer Hamid Merati-Kashani on this frangrance! Longevity is stellar. Worth a serious nose dive.

Widian can do fresh scents too! I Comparison with other fragrances
Widian has already convinced me with several fragrances; "London | Widian / AJ Arabia", "Aswan | Widian / AJ Arabia" and other bestsellers like "Sahara | Widian / AJ Arabia" have shaped the brand very well. Often, however, the brand tends to have more "heavy" scents or rather cold-weather fragrances, apart from a few newer ones that cover transitional phases.

With "Ginger | Widian / AJ Arabia," Widian has made a significant step towards fresh scents, why? Let's get into it!

- "Ginger | Widian / AJ Arabia" starts with a beautiful citrus explosion, really juicy bergamot and lemon create a sparkling feeling with the slightly sharp ginger! Underneath, a hint of green from the magnolia emerges, and a minimal sweetness from the violet, but everything still remains in the fresh context with the citrus.

- After that, the fragrance gains a woody-earthy creaminess in the drydown, but don't be alarmed, the scent doesn't become creamy; this citrus-woody aspect still predominates, just a bit creamier.

- The longevity is brilliant, I expect nothing less from a freshie, really solid. The performance is also very good in terms of projection, top at the beginning, then more skin-close, but we know that from other freshies (I would have given 7.5 for projection, but unfortunately, that's not possible).

Now to the exciting question, how does the scent compare to other freshies?

- "Ginger | Widian / AJ Arabia" has a similar top note to "Afternoon Swim | Louis Vuitton," "Aqua de Dora | Pana Dora," "Mahina | Parfums d'Elmar," "Le Gemme - Tygar | Bvlgari," and "Vibrato | Sospiro." Yes, they all share this fresh citrus opening, hence the initial comparison to these fragrances.

- Afternoon Swim has a significant similarity throughout the fragrance development from my perspective, only that the citrus in "Ginger | Widian / AJ Arabia" is a bit more vibrant and brilliant, and the scent performs much better. Additionally, Widian adds a small floral-creamy twist here.

- Vibrato and "Ginger | Widian / AJ Arabia" have a similar start, but Vibrato becomes significantly powdery in the drydown and does not go in this slightly woody-creamy-floral direction like Widian. After a few minutes, there are already noticeable differences after the opening.

- Aqua de Dora has a similarly fresh opening, but not as sparkling. Moreover, Aqua de Dora goes in a different direction in the drydown with this distinctly noticeable chestnut note and the generally dry-woody DNA.

- "Le Gemme - Tygar | Bvlgari" has a more elegant citrus and an ambrox-based woodiness in my nose in the drydown, yes similar, but it also lacks this floral-creamy-woody drydown that characterizes "Ginger | Widian / AJ Arabia."

In this respect, "Ginger | Widian / AJ Arabia" is already distinct if you know the fragrances in detail and can pick out these nuances. Personally, I like this touch in connection with the performance; at least currently, "Ginger | Widian / AJ Arabia" is clearly my favorite from this comparison.

I did not bring Rosso Pompei into the comparison because it is simply too overpowering, even though it goes in a similar direction with the citrus at the beginning, but the difference is already much greater in my perception.

Well, definitely worth a test!

genial summer freshie - but I don't understand the hype
I've read so much about Ginger here that I really wanted to test it, hoping to finally find my ultimate summer freshie. What can I say: yes, Ginger is a great summer scent, but I can't understand the hype!

Ginger starts fresh, citrusy, and ginger-sharp, which I initially liked a lot. However, I immediately thought of Renaissance by Xerjoff, as it is quite similar. After the initial burst, it becomes beautifully green and woody. What I personally didn't like so much is the "creaminess," which strongly reminds me of Renaissance.

It's definitely a rather masculine scent that I don't see on a woman (sorry).

You can wear Ginger from spring to autumn (the temperature should always be above 10°), then it fits almost everywhere, both in the office and in leisure activities up to sports, anything is possible.

I don't see the longevity as strong as it has been rated. For a freshie, it's okay, but I wouldn't say it lasts longer than 6 hours.

Repulsive Acceptance
Maybe it's due to my difficult relationship with my father, who knows.

Ginger is a scent that just doesn’t suit me at all. But I’m still glad I tested it.

It starts off with a sharp herbal cloud, biting in the nose, with an old-school characteristic. It reminds me of old fragrances, of my father, of old men, right from the beginning. I’m not criticizing old men; I’m only critiquing the scent, and I would place it more in the 50+ category, not 30 and below.

As it develops, not much happens. It becomes softer but still retains the note of old men who like to wear perfume, the old stuff, you know, patchouli, fresh, but somehow bitter/sour in the background. Unremarkable, you’ve simply smelled this scent before, whether from parents or grandparents; it’s just so entrenched and absolutely not foreign, you don’t smell anything new or interesting here.

I wish I could say more, but after several hours, there’s just not much left to say. Simple, old-fashioned, you’ve smelled it a thousand times. I would almost say it carries that biting top note of the Ambassador, just not exactly the same. Those who don’t like Ambassador probably won’t like this scent much either. However, Ambassador is MUCH more intrusive with its biting aggressive chemical top note, which is not the case here.

Unfortunately, it also has zero longevity. I know how well fragrances hold on my skin; I can perceive Xerjoff fragrances intensely for hours. This scent fades within an hour and is only faintly detectable. Perhaps that’s why I struggle to provide a meaningful evaluation, simply because it can hardly show any performance.

In short:

I don’t find it terrible, no - but I just find it incredibly unremarkable and overused. This is the kind of freshie that doesn’t stereotypically waft like soap; it’s the kind of freshie that simply exists bitter-sour, and you already know it from everywhere.

For me, it’s a no-go, but I think my old mom would like it; it will certainly be a ladykiller for 60+.

Borrows Tygar’s DNA of sour citrus, piney ginger.
Adds a floral heart and a creamy, musky base.
Feels smoother than Afternoon Swim, Vibrato.

Lemon & ginger, heart of musk & florals. Initial on-skin dry-down rather poor (sandalwood & violet). Among the worst Tygar/Vibrato takes.

The best, most balanced inspired-by-Tygar offering I’ve put my nose on to date. Better than the archetype. Decent longevity to boot.

Widian’s Ginger reimagines Tygar’s DNA with fresh citrus, spicy ginger and a smooth musky Ambroxan. A good freshie, yet overly familiar.

This is a smoother version of Sospiro Vibrato. Widian really outdid themselves with this creation. A summer banger!
