What can I say?
I have to say, I was very excited when I had the small white package on the table yesterday, in which Creed packs its perfume samples. As a "newbie" in the world of fragrances, it was something special for me to hold samples of niche perfumes in my hand, not least because of the high price (compared to designer fragrances). Five in number, I was interested in one in particular, Creed Aventus. It was to be my introduction to the niche world and gave me reason to write this review. Forgive me if my nose may have led me astray as well. "There is still no master fallen from the sky" it says yes, but I would still like to describe with this, my first review, my experiences with the fragrance.

There he was now, the "king" or the "fallen boxer", in any case one of the perfumes that polarize incredibly. The official description was promising, after all. An "ancient conqueror" was the inspiration, "for today's adventurers" a must as a fragrance. "Smoky pineapple" was how the scent was described to me and I let myself go into it with tremendous interest. Hard to say what I was expecting. Swoon? The feeling of having found THE fragrance? A scent like a magnet, equal to what Grenouilles (I hope spelled correctly) designed in "The Perfume"?

The beginning left me wondering. "Smoky, seeeeeery smoky definitely .... Citrus? yes, some pineapple too ... Ok, so that's it..." I got up, leisurely strolled around the house and asked the family once. "Yes, it's good", "but you can wear it", "200€ for 50ml, what?".
Hours of lying on the sofa and doing sports passed. With the Dry Down I liked the DNA better and better. "Kind of warm", "Kind of comfortable".

"What can I say" - that's how I titled this lyric, and that very questioning emptiness washed over me. It smelled good, yes. Pleasant, yes. This scent haze is great, yes. But 200€? This is THE scent? A really nice fragrance, but as special as you always hear?

If I look at the history that this fragrance has, what many associate with it and look at what influence this according to some Youtuber "most complimented fragrance" had on the perfume world, how it was one of a few niche fragrances to conquer the mass market (at least in the US), one thing becomes clear to me:
Yes, as a perfume enthusiast, you should know this fragrance.
But if I then tie my experience. When I ask myself, does this fragrance really convince me? And if I still in addition the batch problem consider, I come to a second conclusion:
You do not have to own this fragrance.

I can understand everyone who is excited by this DNA. I will perhaps also - should someone come across me wearing Aventus - compliment it. But I myself will not buy this perfume for now. For 200€ I am missing this one thing that blows me away. What that is, I don't know yet, but I'll keep looking. How nice it is that tastes are different.
