A cheap hit of sugar
Sometimes this can be a delicious cloud of sweet vanilla musk and lemon curd, and other times it's not and ends up being far too sweet and cloying. I can never tell.

Soft lasts for freaking ever too, so if it's a day where it's too sweet, just 3 or 4 sprays is going to be quietly following me around for the whole day, and unless I'm able to shower and change clothes, well into the next.

I do like these violin shaped bottles though, 35ml is such a good size and these are quite nice to hold.

Needs to sit a bit after first spraying.
The whisky note has really calmed over the last few months and thankfully now no longer makes me smell like an unwashed and clumsy alcoholic.

Spraying this now, it opens smelling kinda like rum raisin chocolate, but this doesn't last very long and it dries down to a warm, woody iris, pretty quickly. It's nice, and reminds me a bit of theatre trips to the west end as a kid, for some reason.

Weakish longevity and sillage with an hour or so of moderate projection (at most) till it's a skin scent, which then sticks around for 4 or so, increasingly faint hours after that.

Edit: Reapplying this throughout the day with a spray or two to different pulse points every few hours, starting from when I first spritzed in the early morning till about 7pm, builds this so nicely on the skin. You end up with a pleasant, moderate scent bubble of rum raisin chocolate, that actually lasts all night and needs no more top ups.

Also for anyone interested, layering this with Angham by Lattafa is very much worth trying. It brings out the cocoa note in the Angham and the gingery vanilla compliments all the boozy woods and iris really nicely.

The bottle may be kinda dumb but this is surprisingly good, and a pretty good dupe for the og too..
Way back when I was a student, I lived above a fairly fancy tobbaconist for a few years, and every few weeks, as a little treat for studying/surviving, I would get myself a half ounce of their house blend clove rolling tobacco.

On paper, this perfume smells exactly how I remember a freshly opened pouch of that stuff smelling.

The tobacco here is fantastic. It's the most prominent note and smells very freshly cured, like almost too juicy still to be smokable.

Spices are mostly cloves but there's a fair bit of cinnamon bark too, think that floral cinnamon not the sweet stuff.

Dried fruits wise there's a prune note that's really nicely blended in with the tobacco, and I'm not getting any other fruits.

I'm not getting any vanilla, cocoa, tonka or wood either, but that may just be as it's a new bottle sprayed on blotter paper.

Man though, I really want one of those fancy clove rollies right now. I've been holding the blotter paper to my nose and smelling it this whole time and the back of my throat even tastes like smoking one of those now.

Edit: it's a few minutes after I posted the review, I just picked up this blotter again and there's a fair bit of vanilla and some cocoa in the scent trail, just not right up close like I was holding it earlier.

Really looking forward to wearing this when the weather gets cold.

Edit 2: the review above was originally written 3 months ago (07/2025) and I've worn this quite a few times now, so I can update!

On skin this opens near identically to how it did on paper, but the dry down is fantastic too.

That sticky prune is the first to evaporate but once it goes the tonka, vanilla and cocoa powder bloom. It then takes a few hours for all that gorgeous juicy tobacco to slowly start to inch back, until all that's left is this dark, sweet vanilla.

This takes around 8h with a fairly low intensity (depending on how trigger happy you are on the sprayer) arms length sillage for the first hour or so, then progressively closer till it's mostly gone by hour 8.

Topping this up a few times throughout the day smells so good, the opening over the dry down is delicious.

Also if you only spray your clothes, the tobacco and dried fruits last for at least 8h+ but there's less of that tonka and creamy vanilla.

All the others I've tried from this range (all, including the men's, except the green one so far) have been good to go fresh out of the box, so I sprayed this hoping it was no exception.

Right now, all I can smell is bitter suede and sour birch wood. I wouldn't wear this perfume as it is.

Will update my review if/when time in the perfume cupboard changes Meringue. Here's hoping.

Edit: Lmao, I forgot I was planning to 'macerate' this as the green one just arrived, so I pulled it out along with the pink one to admire the set all together and play with them a bit, doing side by side comparisons and whatnot.

It's literally almost exactly 24 hours after yesterday's review and Meringue is already smelling SO much better.

On blotter paper: It's still bitter and very suede and birch forward, but the vanilla and the sandalwood are now present and it's become creamy and just altogether a much more balanced scent. The lack of sweetness here is really sexy too.

On skin: I didn't want to shower again today, so just sprayed over the few pumps of Stash (SJP) I put on this morning, and wow. I smell incredible right now. If you own Stash, you should try this.

Unisex. Intimate sillage, with moderate to low intensity projection and 8 to 10h longevity depending what it's layered with.

Percy Pig sweet, anyone?
Sweet Paradise has a really interesting chewy quality to it from that barley note.

Aside from that though, this smells almost exactly like Marks and Spencers' Percy Pig sweets. I do kinda like it though, it's comforting and a bit nostalgic.

Poor sillage and longevity currently, unless massively over-spraying.

Edit: it's been nearly a month and the top notes last for much longer and the sillage is now moderate for most of the wear time which is up to 6 to 8 hours now.

Like this perfume more than I thought I would and I wear it around the house surprisingly often. Also it layers so damn nicely with La Fin Du Monde and Celebrate For Her, too.
