The Insurrection
Insurrection wild was once again one of my blind buys for a small price.
Hooked by the quite positive reviews and the unisex suitability of the fragrance, it quickly landed in my shopping cart and thus in my collection.
It’s always an exciting moment when blind buys arrive, so I eagerly opened the rather large package.
I was quite amazed by the high-quality looking packaging, in the form of a brown, sturdy box, labeled with golden print.
It somehow looks like the demonic perfume bible...
By pulling on a tab, you now draw out the glass bottle, which lies there like a small sanctuary, and if you’re suffering a bit from sleep deprivation, like I am at the moment, you hear demonic hissing and see bright beams of light.
I must say, even though the craftsmanship is certainly not the best, I am still really impressed by the attention to detail and the grand presentation.
Now, onto the scent.
At first impression, I detect a landing of honey that one tries to rid oneself of with a sharp men’s shower gel.
I’m annoyed for a second by the piercing shower gel vibe and am soon rewarded with a candied cherry, enveloped in dark chocolate. The shower gel stays subtly in the background but is still a permanent guest in the cherry chorus!
Yes... After all, it is also declared as a men’s fragrance :)
The scent becomes softer in the drydown, thanks to amber and delicate suede. The honey also finds its way back, and the cherry celebrates its successful insurrection, just like Che, with a Cuban and a peppermint candy...
From now on, the scent feels linear to me, and it suits it well. The sillage is present but not intrusive, and the scent lasts on my clothes for a solid 12 hours. So all in all, I am totally thrilled with the quality and overall impression of the fragrance for the ridiculous price. The world needs more insurrections!!!! :D

S. O. S.
So, after two days of latent nausea, I’m back to report on this cute little fragrance :).
I spotted the harmless-looking small bottle from afar at my fragrance dealer. I approached it and found the whole situation almost creepy. Due to previous comments, I was quite excited (perhaps biased) and approached the whole thing with the necessary respect, because after all, I wanted to take the train home later without getting arrested.
So... I opened the thing very carefully and smelled the cap...
Well, what can I say. I quickly closed the cap again, because the stench (yes, stench) of a moldy wooden boat on a tilted ocean burned into my nose! The already dead crew of this boat is still eating salted Katjes herring, washed down with seawater, and how could it be otherwise, they are throwing up on it.
Of course, no one ever cleans up the mess. If you listen closely, the undead are still singing sad songs about suffering and doom. The slimy green octopus sometimes offers comfort.
This must definitely be the signature water of the Kraken pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean. That’s exactly the image I had in my head!

I spared myself and my environment the skin test, I was afraid my arm would fall off.

Maybe it's mega sea art, but it stinks!!!

Failed!
Since my perfume budget has once again been exhausted this month, but I can't help myself, I spent the sunny afternoon in the city at the park. A summer scent is needed, I can't find anything appealing in the German "winter" and its gray dreariness, and I definitely craved summer in the city!!!
Of course, summer fragrances are not usually launched in January and February; first, the old stuff is brought to the public with red flashy pseudo discounts. Stoic as I am and blinded by greed, I didn't care. Full of determination, I headed straight for Mr. Ford, as soleil blanc had stuck nicely in my memory, and I was immediately approached by a dramatically made-up lady with: "Welcome to Tom Ford," as if he himself would jump around the corner at any moment.
I asked her to apply soleil on my skin right away, and in the meantime, she informed me that this was a scent from Mr. Ford's private collection (when is this Mr. Ford finally going to come and greet me personally?). The private collection is exclusive (so overpriced) and for people who know about fragrances. "Aha," I said, "what a pity, I really like it, but unfortunately, I have no idea about the subject; otherwise, I would have bought it." I left the lady and Mr. Ford.
On the parfumo site, soleil plein was shown to me as a scent twin.
Ha!!!! I thought to myself, I'll show you, Ford! Determined, I reached for plein soleil from Mr. Yves while feeling quite confident. I let the two fragrances run against each other, and they actually resembled each other... The first five seconds...ylang ylang and tuberose were the common denominator. But soon it became clear that plein soleil was the slightly corpulent, prickly sister. Plein soleil does not develop and remains linear, the scent somehow loveless and dull. Tuberose hardly lets any ingredient shine alongside it and just puffs along. The delicate creaminess is also absent. Well, it is not a bad scent per se, but in direct comparison to soleil blanc, unfortunately, it completely failed!

Mhhhh...bähhh!!!!
Mhhh, vanilla, caramel, my gourmand heart is doing somersaults!!! And then the price, a dream. So off to the big R and diligently spritzed on my wrist. In bright anticipation, I held my nose to it uuuuund bähhhhh!!!!, what are those scent molecules playing at?! Where is my vanilla? I was promised caramel... Boohoo, cruel world!
I stepped outside to catch my breath and ate a Kinder chocolate while rereading the reviews here. I buried my nose again excessively into my wrist... No, nothing, I smell undefinable disgusting water, sweet, cheap, even for the price it's an imposition (okay, maybe a bit harsh but I'm just disappointed). I have nothing against inexpensive fragrances, on the contrary, I own quite a few myself.
A week later, I had to change trains at Frankfurt Central Station and the typical urinous scent cloud wafted around me. A woman or a man, I don't know, was trudging in front of me and pulled out a small pink bottle from their jacket pocket... So I'm out.

Ode to Mom
I am a child of the eighties, yet this is only reflected in my passion for fragrances. Loud, sweet, opulent, always in search of THE scent!!! The blame lies with none other than Mom.
I could describe my childhood through various scent memories. The first thing I perceived even before I opened my eyes in the morning was the lovely fragrance of my mother. The sillage gently woke me, flowing from the bathroom into the bedroom. Later, when I became interested in perfumes, I gradually remembered all the scents. From Paris to sun moon stars. In contrast to me, she used bottle after bottle.
Since I became a mother myself last year and am now on parental leave, I like to combine our walks with short detours to my fragrance dealer, who, oh how wonderful, now fills ten ml of scent for ten euros. Packaging and bottles often attract me like magic, so I neatly sweep one or two notes that I don't like under the proverbial rug, beautifully adorned. Were the 80s perhaps also superficial?!
Thus, I ended up testing this Estee Lauder. The name sounded promising as well. I took a quick sniff from the test strip because little Parfumo started to fuss and detected nothing disturbing, so I decided to take it and go.
While walking, I sprayed the fragrance on my wrist and waited. A sweet, juicy scent enveloped me on that sunny January morning; it must have been the apricot. It felt incredibly familiar. Rose and lily of the valley flirt a bit with the carnation, but rather unsuccessfully. Medusa, dressed in fine satin, eats honey bread while the snakes spew apricot jam. It doesn't undergo much development. The fragrance has, as expected, a high radiance and lasts on my skin for eight hours until it is only very faint. You will definitely be noticed with this sillage, and some might even get Alien headaches. Fragrances of the 80s unite :))
Memories of beautiful moments interpreted in a modern way, as there's a bit of Lush shop in there too. Similarities to sun moon stars and Narcisse are evident. Both fragrances were favorites of my mother. May my little Parfumo also grow up with a scent DNA that he associates with love, trust, and beautiful memories.
