Neroli
I was expecting this to be an edgier CDG version of Paper Soap by J-Scent, but found this to be too neroli-centric in the opening to be an actual soap scent. I find it difficult to appreciate neroli unless it's blended and softened by other notes. This perfume is an example of the type of pure neroli note that I don't particularly enjoy, unfortunately.

Fuzzy clean
I found this at Target several years ago and it was the only fragrance that intrigued me in the Good Chemistry line. I remember thinking that it was perfectly unisex: aquatic and cool yet soft and clean with a certain fuzzy aspect to it. It seemed assertive but not abrasive. I used to put on a couple of spritzes and drive to my favorite indie movie theater to watch movies by myself and then walk around the city at night. Today I'm taking out the bottle to give it a quick sniff, and it smells crisp and ever so slightly sweet, perhaps transformed in my mind through the lens of nostalgia. What a simple unassuming fragrance, what a perfect little time machine!

To add:
From what I understand this may very well be a one-ingredient waxy aldehyde perfume, but I am yet to confirm this hypothesis. Comme des Garcons Play Green must have this as an ingredient whatever it is as once the top green notes dissipate you basically have Cool Glacier left behind.

Juicy
This is very juicy in the way that Juicy fruit gum is juicy but with a strong vetiver backbone. I like it but it's a little too sweet, and you would think vetiver and other non-sweet notes could balance it out, but they don't for some reason, at least not in a way that works for me. It seems somewhat unfinished. I'm testing this on a cold gloomy day, so I think I might need to give it another chance in warmer weather to see if other notes will come through.

Black Locust
For the longest time I was looking for a perfume that smelled like black locust flowers(Robinia pseudoacacia) with little success. Then a couple of years ago I tested this at a duty free store with no expectations and was immediately surprised by how closely it resembled black locust. Once it's settled on my skin it shifts towards the citrus flower/leaf dimension, but that black locust flower nuance doesn't go away. It's beautiful and unpretentious and definitely a love for me.

Neo-Animism
Loved playing around with this fragrance. So fresh but in a unique way that stands out from the typical cologne scents. I'm not sure what South African Green soap is supposed to smell like, but to me this actually smells like a combo of two soaps I'm very familiar with that also happen to be green: Green Palmolive bar soap(not to be confused with Palmolive dish soap!) and Irish Spring. If you smell those two together, it should give you an idea of what this would smell like in the opening - Palmolive that's been made edgier through the sharp green notes of Irish Spring.

Unfortunately, for some reason the dry-down hasn't been working for me. It's not a specific note I could point out, just something about it seems to overwhelm me after a while, but I'd like to continue revisiting my sample to see if I can get past this in the future.
