Savon de Marseille
If you've ever smelled Savon de Marseille you'll know right away, that this is it!
To me this smell is about herbs, orangeb blossom, lavender, verbena, fresh citrus peels, green olives and cypresses. And, the new fragrance captures this Mediterranian aromatic coctail spot on. Plus, they enriched it with neroli, which are very natural-smelling and quite bright here.
I love that they made this fragrance so, that it smells like handcrafted soap (they probably used some aldehydes to help recreate the soapness in the composition). However, at the same time my nose somehow knows that this fragrance belongs to Comme des Garcons - there is definately the brand’s DNA in it.
Marseille perfume is in itself rich enough, yet it is also smooth and harmoniously done.

Neroli
I was expecting this to be an edgier CDG version of Paper Soap by J-Scent, but found this to be too neroli-centric in the opening to be an actual soap scent. I find it difficult to appreciate neroli unless it's blended and softened by other notes. This perfume is an example of the type of pure neroli note that I don't particularly enjoy, unfortunately.

Summer!
I love wearing this on a hot day, or when I am pretending it should be a hot day. It smells like Marseille soap (you know when you know) but I also smell sand/beach. So it is a clean smell, but the 'sand' gives it depth and takes you to... well maybe to Marseille (the city). There is a hidden edginess to this fragrance.
It also evokes the feeling of a laundrette, where they use detergent different from your own.
If you can't decide if you want to go to the beach or to the forest, do as I do: spray one arm with Monocle Scent One: Hinoki and the other with Marseille and you can switch between the two instantaneously. Magic!

The least of all Quentins
I grew tired of the Bisch DNA, which now you find everywhere and that i'm not a fan of.

However, he pulled off a photorealistic Marseille soap here, which makes it perfect for after the shower and being home, cozy and feeling clean.

The bottle is a big MEH, and the performance is what it is, making the price a bit too high, but definitely worth as a clean scent profile in any collection.

Pink office soap
On my skin this smells like an exact rendition of the pink Gojo soap you find in office bathrooms. I get neroli and orange blossoms interlaced with synthetic cleanliness, almost like the aroma of sun dried laundry but it still smells closer to detergent in my opinion. Not exactly unpleasant, but if I wanted to smell that way I could wash my hands with the pink soap instead and get practically the same effect. Although I think the smell is clean this is not a safe blind buy, please test it for yourself. I've heard it's a particularly accurate rendition of soap from the Marseille, because the perfumer grew up there. This fragrance is not that avant-garde compared to most of CDG's offerings, I find Serpentine to be much more conceptually interesting. I really wanted to like this, but if I were to own a full bottle this would be something I rarely wear unless I were to use it as a clothing spray.

If you like this fragrance, I’m begging you to stop reading any other reviews of it. This is the only scent that was ruined for me by others

A very natural and artisanal "baby soft" soap lathered on warm skin. A sudsy yet milky embrace. Lukewarm soapy water splashes everywhere.

Interesting take on soapiness. Not the green Marseilles soap cubes (the real stuff !), more liquid Marseilles soap. Good performance.

My nose said: "grape soda? baby powder?" But then soap emerges. I can picture the block. A good portrait, photorealistic once it solidifies.

Stiffened salt & soda linen withstands every Mistral. Orange blossom pure steam blows dust and clouds soap-clear from the land.*

Smells a bit like motel hand soap, but has its charm the more you wear it.

Vacation. That's how laundromats and laundry services smell in Spain. And the laundry too. I wouldn't want to wear it, but it makes me so happy.
