Summer fragrance 2024
I came across the & Other Stories fragrances a while ago because they are affordable and were partly created by Jérôme Epinette, who is best known for some Byredo fragrances.
The fragrance starts off so beautifully summery and fruity. When I smelled it for the first time, an old memory immediately came to mind: being on a horse farm as a child and drinking a cool fruit punch. I certainly hadn't thought about that moment for over a decade, but suddenly it was so clear in my mind's eye.
After the tangy grapefruit has made its first big entrance and slowly drifts away, pineapple and pear join in. I have to admit, I wasn't a big fan of pineapple at first. I only really associated it with Aventus - and I don't like it. So at first I was a little unsure whether I would like the fragrance beyond the top note or whether it was just a brief reminder at the beginning.
But I actually learned to love pineapple through Sicilian Sunrise. The fruit combination is like enjoying a cool lemonade on a hot summer's day. There are those summer moments when your clothes stick to you, it's stiflingly hot and the heat is suffocating. Then there are others where you're sitting in partial shade, it's warm but at the same time there's a cool, refreshing breeze. Sicilian Sunrise is just such a breeze in a beautiful summer moment. Or a delicious, cool lemonade. Take your pick!
It doesn't disappoint me in the drydown either: the fruitiness decreases significantly, but I find the amber combination irresistible and reminds me more of a noble drydown, which I would rather prescribe in the niche.
I am a fan of Sicilian Sunrise. It's been a faithful companion this summer and I'm already looking forward to spraying it on at home on cooler days and reminiscing about the beautiful summer moments.

Rain showers in spring
You sounded so beautiful. A Delina in a
Soft robe of roses.
With less force, but with more rose.
I think every person goes through some frustrating stages in their own fragrance career: For example, you read the scent notes of a perfume and are completely blown away. "It's just made for me!" Reviews are read and if the euphoria is too high, the thought quickly arises "I must like it, maybe I should just order it blind." (is there actually a synonym for blind order/ blindbuy?)
Luckily, I only bought one bottle from a nice perfumer.
Because my idea of a softer Delina, whose scent heralds spring and makes me feel light - that was my expectation.
I have to say - I really like the opening. The lychee and the pear play their fruity notes on a bed of roses in a fresh and lively way.
But the closer the fragrance gets to drydown on my skin, the more disappointed I am - it smells wet and cool to me. And not in a refreshing way, but rather as if I had accidentally stepped into the rain and my wet clothes were sticking to my skin and I was cold. Where has the beautiful spring day gone?
Delina La Rosée and I don't go together. Nevertheless, I believe that it could herald the spring day I've been longing for in someone else.

Cool days - clear head
Oh, Ebony Wood. I haven't smelled another one like you yet.
Now that winter is setting in, I have euphorically brought out all my beautiful gourmands again and enjoyed them very much.
But sometimes my dear sweet vanilla fragrances are a little too much for me.
Because here comes the question I often ask myself: How do I choose my fragrance for the day?
There are definitely fragrances that simply suit certain seasons. Citrusy aquatic scents in summer, fragrances that smell of freshly baked pastries for winter. But it's not that easy for me. I also choose fragrances according to my mood.
And this is where it can sometimes get complicated, because especially when I have stressful days, I sometimes can't stand heavy fragrances; they stress me even more during the day.
But Ebony Wood makes my decision easy. Because even though it is clearly an autumnal and wintry fragrance for me, it is not heavy or stressful. It is simply there and gives me a wonderful spiciness throughout the day that is slightly sweet, but not overpowering.
The fragrance progression is linear, which for me is also a positive aspect. You know what you have as soon as you spray it on. And accordingly, I perceive it as unisex.
If you get the chance, you should definitely smell it!
