The Mauboussin Homme had been tempting me for some time and had been on my watch list for a while. When a few euros were still missing for free shipping, the time had finally come.

As I already have a soft spot for lavender thanks to my first love, Le Mâle Eau de Toilette, I can only say that if you love lavender, you've come to the right place. In my mind's eye, I can see a lavender field in France stretching to the horizon. Sage and rosemary resonate in the background, rounding off the whole thing for me. It reminds me a little of the essential oils in a humidifier, which soothingly caress the nose. I don't notice the other notes in the pyramid. A beautiful and underrated fragrance that flies under the radar. But DNA is not for milquetoasts. It is a somewhat more mature DNA, I would say.

The only thing I'm still skeptical about is the H|S. Let's see how it matures.

The scenery is a highway somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I'm rolling through the countryside on my Harley wearing a black Niten jacket. My long beard is blowing in the wind. Arriving at a biker bar, I expertly fold down the stand with my cowboy boot and enter the scene.

As soon as I open the door, a wave of smoke and alcohol blows into my face. Heavy air hangs in the room and metal booms out of the jukebox. After a while, other smells join in. Various woods from the old dark interior, spices that must have come from the cows and musk from the other bikers, some of whom are leaning drunkenly against the bar, others who are standing around playing pool or fighting over a disagreement. The whole thing blends into a smell that truly screams masculinity.

A smell that hangs in your clothes and spreads even though you left the bar hours ago.

I've never felt more like a man than today.

I'm in the Azores. The log cabin is on the cliff and I'm sitting on the terrace with a glass of lemon water. The wind blows along the cliffs and carries the cool sea air to me, mixing with the flowers and my lemon water to create a wonderful mixture. I feel carefree and light. Like a bird spreading its wings and taking the leap off the cliff.

That's what this fragrance represents to me when I close my eyes and apply Missoni Wave. Trying to draw similarities to other fragrances is completely out of place. It does its own thing.

H|S are also above average and can stand up to far more expensive fragrances, also in terms of quality.

Conclusion: My go to summer fragrance. P|L unbeatable

Do you perhaps know those scented vanilla cigarillos that you can buy? This direction actually describes it quite well. A strong spicy tobacco note that hits you right at the beginning. There is also a noticeable sweetness that could be a little less for my taste. Nevertheless, it is a great fragrance that knows how to convince. The course is relatively constant without many highs and lows. However, this is not a bad thing as the scent doesn't come across as cheap or monotonous.

Leisure, work or evening event, it fits. The H|S were slightly above average for me, but perhaps it needs a little more time to develop even more.

Conclusion: A great fragrance, at a great price. Recommendation for anyone looking for a sweet tobacco fragrance for little money.

Sometimes it's the little things that you wouldn't expect that surprise you the most. I knew that the Galatea didn't have the best reviews. However, as it was very reasonably priced, I added it to my shopping cart. What could possibly go wrong, I thought to myself.

Arrived and unpacked. The first sniff, the surprise. I find it special and very appealing. It's exactly to my taste and I think it's great. This mixture of fruity, smoky leather, with an underlying herbaceousness, makes it special for me. In addition to its role model, Godolphin, which I definitely still have to test, it has a Tuscan Leather Eau de Parfum DNA with its own twist for me. Towards the end of the fragrance, the smoky vanilla notes predominate

The H|S is in the upper average and quite ok. What more could you want for the price. Actually wearable all year round, well maybe not necessarily at 30°C. Fits well for leisure, office and evening program.

Conclusion: I don't understand why it has such a below-average reputation. A real surprise for me and a great piece.
