Lovely - Unique - Masterpiece
This fragrance has a special place in my heart. I used to wear it before I became a fraghead, so basically on a daily basis during colder months. Cypress is star of the show here and the note I pick up the most and also the main reason I love it so much. When my collection started to grove I got rid of the old 100ml bottle as I thought there are much better fragrances to explore. That might be true but it does not change the fact that this is a superb masculine and unique scent worth having in my rotation. This week I stumbled upon a bottle for very good price and guess what? It still is that good old Eau Des Baux in all it’s beauty and will be getting heavy use again. Sometimes you just can’t get rid of old habbits, maybe you just forget them for few years. I highly recommend this fragrance, especially for the price you can get it for these days.

PS: I do not find it that similar to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. It’s also worth mentioning this fragrance was originally released a year prior to TV :)

Everlasting evergreen
Imagine this: 71 year old man with a cancer, his women and 38 and a 37 years old pals sitting in a room...different tastes and opinions on life, politics, relationships, fragrances, you name it...

We've never came to a consensus on basically anything ...but...we all enjoyed Evernia.

Is that enough?

Class in a bottle
At the beginning of my fragrance journey I stumled upon Habit Rouge EDT and found it very oldschool and oldmanish and did not change my opinion ever since. That fragrance just does not do it for me.

I took a gamble and bought Rouge Privé and what a nice surprise it was! If I should make a change to the note pyramid, it would be moving the leather to the middle notes. Opening is very nice citrus with ginger and it lasts almost an hour. After that I already start to pick up nicely done and quite promiment leather with hints of iris and orange blossom. Drydown comes in about 2 hours time after application and you get the famous harmonic guerlinade in all its beauty. At this stage it starts to sit close the to skin, but lasts for another 6+ hours. This is how transitions in a fragrance should be made. It never feels like a loud fragrance but I believe it was never ment to be like that. This is classy fragrance for a confident and well dressed gentleman doing his own thing, who does not need to anounce his entrence with his fragrance.

Except the hot sunny days it can serve you throughout the whole year and it can get you covered on multiple occasions. Even though I decided to not keep this fragrance in my collection, I really appreciate the quality and masterful blend achieved and rate it 8,5/10! Maybe I will purchase it again in the near future as I found the smell kind of addicting as it made me comming back to it quite often during my testing. I highly recommend to sample it to anybody that find the notes listed interesting.

8.1.2024 update: I had to buy it again and now it probably stays in the collection :)

Modern, stable, awesome!
Very nice woodsy, dry, stable and modern composition. The comparison with Ganymede is a bit misleading, though. Just because both fragrances use this new Akigalawood ingredient (some people are anosmic to it )does not mean they are the same fragrances. While I did not really enjoy Ganymede due to that suede accord, I find Bois Imperial very attractive and highly wearable. I detect quite strong cedar wood vibe and I absolutely love it. In fact I was searching for fragrance like this for quite some time now. The vibe is similar, but if you would compare both fragrances side by side, you’d quickly realize how much they differ. I believe, that just because you love Ganymede does not automatically mean that you will love Bois Imperial and vice versa. At least that was the case for me.

Do not expect this to be heavy and thick fragrance with massive projection. Instead you will get long lasting, airy yet noticable scent with high versatility / wearability.

One comparison comes to mind: think about what Dior did with their Dior Homme Original vs 2020. If someone told me that this is modern reinterpretation of Gucci Pour Homme, I’d not be surprised at all. I’m curious what these new molecules entering the fragrance market will bring us in the future.

Overall I really enjoy this one and highly recommend you to try it out. Value for money is fantastic as well as the fragrance itself. Signature scent worthy material! Bravo Mr. Bisch!

WARNING: Flammable!
So far the only fragrance out of my everchanging 60+ bottle collection that gets me compliments every time I wear it and I feel like I’m on fire.
It might not be a pinnacle of parfumery, but it seems it was designed to be adored by the masses and it does it very well! Easy dumb reach, easy wear experience, easy compliment getter, easy to like & easy to hate by snobs :) Performance is very good. Every collection needs a scent like this.
