More than just sweet
I expected a one note sweet scent but it's really complex. Like an expensive caramel dripping with honey if you told me this was what Cleopatra smelled like I would believe you. The vanilla is strong but not overpowering in my opinion. But if you are sensitive to vanilla I wouldn't recommend this one cause it is there on a the forefront.
It smells like Irish Springs bar soap
I haven't lived with my dad in a very long time but this smells exactly like how he smelled after getting out of the shower and using the Irish Springs bar soap. I actually had to google what that soap was made from to compare the notes and what I got online was it does have a floral woody smell which I guess yeah this perfume does too but thats so incredibly vague that a million perfumes could fit that profile.
Anyway it is a fresh clean (in my opinion soapy) scent which i'm sure is lovely if you aren't thinking about your dad.
No Blood Just Fruit
I was hoping for more of a blood note but I didn't get anything remotely metallic. The clove comes through a bit but it is thoroughly a fruity almost wine smell. It's lovely but I wish I'd gotten some mineral or metallic element so I feel like I have to dock it somewhere if only for that. It makes me want to wear it to a wine tasting or fruit picking at a berry farm. I was hoping for more of a ritual scent (not that I do rituals but I also don't do berry picking) Overall I think this is the perfect scent for someone just missed the mark a bit for me.
Like eating an offering
I've tried a lot of graveyard scents and I get a lot more citrus than graveyard. Makes me feel like I'm eating the offerings left for someone. The yuzu and orange are really bright when first sprayed but once it's settled I do get some of the earth scent. I really enjoy it but the citrus notes are really over powering. Or maybe I sprayed too much idk. This is a solid 4, I'll certainly wear the sample I got again but I don't think I'd get a full bottle.
And the crowd goes mild
I like weird odd scents and Swamp Fairy has been on my list for a minute. Unfortunately all I am really getting is just floral and patchouli and nothing really stands out about it. There is also something vaguely powdery behind it which I think just throws the whole thing off. If it was weird and bad I could recommend it cause it was odd. If it was weird and good thats also easy to recommend but instead it's just weird and there. Can't offer a solid 3 star perfume to someone when you have others, especially in the same brand, that stand out more.
