Smelling summer tea fragrances and collecting plants in video games
Hello and welcome to my review of "Green Tea Citron Freesia" by Elizabeth Arden. I like this fragrance range because it's nice and light, often reasonably priced and often fragrant for the price. The downside is that there are a lot of flankers, most of which quickly disappear from the market. The good news here is that Citron Freesia is still easy to get, at least online (as of September 2025), as the fragrance is only two years old, but it is sure to disappear soon, as a new fragrance is released every year.
Soo,... yes I know, it's the beginning of September, summer is coming to an end, which means that the heatwaves should (finally!) be over. And maybe by now some of you have even started looking around for autumnal scents that smell like pumpkins and stuff, hey hey.
But tea fragrances always work, kind of like how you could always drink tea, so today I'm introducing this fresh, light fragrance and yes, maybe it will appeal to you and you'll be less sad that summer is coming to an end, although of course I'm more looking forward to finally having autumn again and therefore Halloween soon :)
Soo,... in the fragrance list I read, among other things, reseda... okay, my botanical knowledge is notoriously poor, but honestly... what the hell is that again? Reseda? I've never heard of it... it sounds to me like a magical, alchemical ingredient from a fantasy video game... :DDD Seriously... it's like I'm running around in a game like the Elder Scrolls series collecting various plants to make magical potions with. And these games have fantasy plants as well as real ones (like this nirnwort that even makes a humming sound :D). Incidentally, through these games, especially in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, I also learned about some real plants 20 years ago, such as the aconite, whose name and appearance I found fascinating, then searched for it online and saw that this plant actually exists (and is of course extremely poisonous... :D).
But well, before I bore everyone any more, I'll come back to the scent, but of course still don't know what a reseda is or what it smells like.
From the middle section onwards, the citrusy notes become weaker and weaker, so that the floral-sweet scents become even more noticeable. However, citrus notes are still present in the background and contribute to the overall summery impression. The middle section is generally quite floral, after all, there are freesias (I assume it's the freesias... boah I really need a fragrance library with pure plant fragrances!!!! :D) and you generally have such a floral perception. The great thing is that it smells fresh and beautiful, because I often find some floral fragrances very stuffy and dry. Fortunately, this is not the case here. Then there is the pepper, which sounds unusual, but it doesn't smell particularly strong here and you shouldn't think that it would somehow tingle in your nose, no, the pepper is subtle and therefore fits in with the rest of the fragrance, giving it a small but subtle spicy change.
Towards the end, the scent continues to smell sweet and floral, but the flowers are now weaker and the citrusy notes seem stronger again, at least when you smell close to the skin. And so the fragrance slowly comes to an end.
It is light and easy, of course it is also a summer fragrance and therefore also good to use on very hot days. You can wear it in your free time as well as at work or school/university. It is even suitable for going out or meeting friends, as it is light and, as I said, should not overwhelm anyone even in the heat. And when it's no longer summer, you can spray such fragrances on yourself from time to time if you just want to chill at home and have something nice in your nose.
If you like tea scents, you could definitely try this fragrance, but I have to say that the tea note is rather small and you can "only" smell green tea. In general, it's a nice fragrance that you don't necessarily have to have, but for little money you can get something quite useful for everyday summer. However, I also think that there are or were even nicer tea fragrances from Elizabeth Arden.
And with that I'm done again and wish you all a nice evening, see you next time :)

The fragrance:
The fragrance starts very fresh with citrusy notes, where you can easily smell lemons and bergamots. There is also a hint of mandarin, but this is quickly lost in the top note, as the other fragrance notes simply radiate more strongly. This is joined by the typical green tea scent, which is present in every fragrance from this range (of course, it is the Green Tea range). Here, the green tea is medium strong. A sweet, floral scent quickly comes to mind, I'm guessing violets here, or maybe it's jasmine, hmm I always have my difficulties with floral scents, especially when they are rather weak and there are many other scents present (maybe you could give me tips on which scents are particularly good for smelling violets and which are good for smelling jasmine? :) Soo,... in the fragrance list I read, among other things, reseda... okay, my botanical knowledge is notoriously poor, but honestly... what the hell is that again? The sillage and the durability:
Yes, you can already guess that a fragrance like this might not have a very high sillage. And unfortunately, that's actually the case. You might be able to smell the fragrance on yourself for a short time, which is nice, but everyone else has to get pretty close. The longevity is also rather short, but there are worse things here. Citron Freesia lasts for 3-4 hours, which is okay for a summery fragrance. The bottle:
The bottle has had the same shape as all Green Tea fragrances for years, i.e. rectangular with a slightly oval base and narrow with a large lid. In addition to the green tea leaf (which can be seen in all Green Tea fragrances), this fragrance also has oranges and freesias printed on the bottle. This time, the lid comes in a matching orange-yellow color. All in all, a little plain, but still quite nice. Conclusion:
Soo,... yes the fragrance is not bad. As I said earlier, Citron Freesia smells nice and summery with citrusy, floral and sweet scents without being heavy or stuffy. If I were to rank the Green Tea fragrances, it would be at the top of the list, as I think the combination with mandarin and lemon and the later sweet scents is a success. It is light and easy, of course it is also a summer fragrance and therefore also good to use on very hot days. You can wear it in your free time as well as at work or school/university. It is even suitable for going out or meeting friends, as it is light and, as I said, should not overwhelm anyone even in the heat. The man who swung his whip
There was once a man who loved to crack his whip
He preferred to do this in exotic places, especially among many people
He always made people scream and everyone wanted to grab him
He was also dressed in leather, but certainly didn't smell of cedar
...
All right, the rhyme is certainly not the best, but you dirty bastards must be thinking of something naughty, aren't you? Sure, I'm talking about leather, whips and screaming... But we're talking about... Indiana Jones!!! Ha! You didn't expect that, did you? But how did I come up with him?
Well, please, you know I like things like Star Wars, Batman and Indiana Jones! What else should I think of when the word "Petra" appears in the fragrance name? And the fragrance is also from a series called "Trade Route Collection"? Petra is not a woman's name here, but this ancient rock city in Jordan where, according to the movie, the 700-year-old knight with the Holy Grail is waiting for you :D
You don't believe that? Recently, a tomb was actually discovered in Petra where a chalice was even unearthed that looks extremely similar to the chalice in the movie! Well? NA? If that's not a reason to watch "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" now, hey hey :D
In any case, the Trade Route Collection, of which I am describing the Legacy of Petra fragrance here, was inspired by the goods from the Silk Road that were then traded mainly in the London docks. According to the manufacturer's description, the rock city of Petra is about rocks and mountains that are warmed by the rising sun. Oh and Indiana Jones is unfortunately not mentioned at all... *sigh* :DD
But let's get to the scent!
A little later, the scent remains spicy and sweet, as well as soft due to the resins. I also notice a tea-like scent, namely tea that has been flavored with fennel like some of my friends here do with black tea. This scent is very faint, but you can smell it if you smell it very close to your skin. The sweet notes smell like amber, which is perhaps this "belambre", if that has anything to do with amber. The liquorice becomes weaker and weaker as the fragrance progresses and is gradually replaced by resinous and sweeter notes.
In the end, the fragrance smells mainly sweet with resinous notes, but above all vanilla. This is okay, but I find that the ending is a little less spectacular, as it smells nice, but like many other vanilla fragrances.
In terms of seasons, the fragrance clearly belongs in the fall and winter. It may not start out heavy, but the end could be overwhelming on warmer days, at least if you overdose. Otherwise, I think you could use it both during the day and for going out, although it's obviously not a party fragrance.
The fragrance is not a must-have for me now... although... the name does mention "Petra" and that always makes me think of Indiana Jones... oh no... I'd rather get the golden idol from the first movie and maybe the Sankara stones from the second movie, he he... uff... what you always spend money on, apart from that you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?... :DD
Anyway, that's it again for today. I wish you all a nice evening, see you :)

According to the manufacturer's description, the rock city of Petra is about rocks and mountains that are warmed by the rising sun. Oh and Indiana Jones is unfortunately not mentioned at all... *sigh* :DD
But let's get to the scent!
The fragrance:
The fragrance begins sweetly spicy with a gentle and soft background. You can clearly smell fennel, dark sweet licorice and myrrh. In the background I smell rosy-floral notes, could that be rockrose? To be honest, I don't even know what rockrose is or what it smells like :D A little later, the scent remains spicy and sweet, as well as soft due to the resins. In the end, the fragrance smells mainly sweet with resinous notes, but above all vanilla. This is okay, but I find that the ending is a little less spectacular, as it smells nice, but like many other vanilla fragrances.
The sillage and the longevity:
The radiance is good, but not as strong as you might think. Nevertheless, you will easily be noticed. The longevity is easily 10 hours, but for a large part of this time you can almost only smell myrrh and vanilla. The bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and filled with an amber-colored fragrance liquid. On the front you can see a beautiful label with a pattern in the style of a mosaic picture. As always, the brand name and fragrance name can be seen on the label. The lid consists of a cylinder at the bottom and a sphere at the top. In contrast to most Penhaligon's fragrances, the lid doesn't have a bow this time, instead a cord has been wrapped around it that ends in a tassel. This is also nice, but I personally like the bows better. Nevertheless, all in all a beautiful bottle. Conclusion:
Hm, okay, so I don't really know whether this collection was inspired more by the ancient places of the time or by the goods from these places, but with the rock city of Petra as inspiration, I was also expecting rocky or at least mineral notes. Well, even if these scents are not present, the fragrance is by no means a disappointment, because it smells quite nice with its spicy-resinous and sweet scents, provided you like this scent. In terms of seasons, the fragrance clearly belongs in the fall and winter. It may not start out heavy, but the end could be overwhelming on warmer days, at least if you overdose. Otherwise, I think you could use it both during the day and for going out, although it's obviously not a party fragrance.

Anyway, that's it again for today. I wish you all a nice evening, see you :)

A fragrance mix please!
Hey guys! I'm still here, and as I said before I'm trying to write a bit more often again, but I've just been busy or dying because of the heat, like yesterday or last Sunday... and this is just the beginning, in a few days we will probably have to endure a longer lasting heat wave... "Summer is finally nice and warm!"???? Just go away with such sayings, uffff :D
So, today it's about an Alyson Oldoini fragrance, a fragrance brand that I saw in a hiking package a long, long time ago and that is probably less well known, I suppose. I have now tried the fragrance "Diafana Skin". And you know what? The composition of the fragrance somehow reminds me of my childhood or youth and the creation of mixed music cassettes... Huh? You're probably wondering now? Well, let me explain it to you.
Since my whole family is totally into music, we had a lot of music cassettes,... yes... cassettes! No CDs or even digital files... As I said, that was just THEN :D ... You still know cassettes, don't you? At this point you have to say "yes" so that I don't feel so old *sigh*.
Anyway, I'm sure it's the same for you that you don't want to listen to just one singer all the time, you'd rather have mixtapes instead, right? Well, and if you had a lot of cassettes like we did, you also put together a lot of cassettes yourself, with your favorite songs and stuff, and noooo, back then it wasn't like today on the computer, where you can copy MP3 files to a USB stick or a player in seconds (I know, for most people that's out now, because they'd rather just have Spotify :D), no, you had to do the whole thing in "real time". If a song was six minutes long, you had to wait six minutes for the whole thing to be copied onto the blank cassette. So creating a 90-minute cassette also took... 90 minutes, ufff... Everything used to be better? Hey hey, when it comes to certain things, I'm glad we live in a digital age :D
And you clueless young things now know what mixtapes are and also understand what these "Awesome Mix" tapes of Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy are supposed to be, yes, I had to mention something about comics and superheroes :DD
Well, why did I come up with that of all things?
Well, you know, with this fragrance I had the feeling that the scent doesn't really have a direction and doesn't really smell like anything in particular, but seems to have something of every scent in it. Whether soft powdery iris, leather, coconut, oud, flowers, aldehydes, incense, vanilla, amber, saffron, fruits... somehow there's just something of everything in it,... like a mixed cassette... (or also... a delicious mixed bag, hmmm.... that would be good now, you know that too, don't you? OR?!!!), or in this case... a mixed bottle :DD
Somehow the beginning reminds me of a mix of Chanel No5 and Prada Infusion d'Iris. However, this impression doesn't last too long, so the fragrance then becomes sweeter and more floral with a faint fruity background that makes it difficult to identify the individual fragrance notes.
Because all the fragrances are quite weak, or in other words, none of them really stand out. You may be able to detect some rose, but otherwise it seems as if most of the fragrances are simply too mixed together.
Later, leathery notes are added, some faint incense, then a little oud... well, somehow there seems to be a bit of everything, which is not a bad thing, of course, but it makes it difficult to identify individual fragrance notes, at least for me. Roughly speaking, however, you can at least smell the powdery notes and the aldehydes throughout the fragrance.
As described, it simply smells of many fragrances, which is not so bad in itself, but somehow you can't do much with the fragrance. It's not bad, but it's also not something that I absolutely have to have or that I wouldn't miss if it no longer existed. It's a casual leisure fragrance for me, but I wouldn't wear it on hot summer days like the last few days, it's too heavy and stuffy for that.
Well, as I said, the fragrance is like a mixtape for me... I wonder if there are mix fragrances? d
On the other hand, you can layer fragrances, like the Jo Malone fragrances, for example, but somehow I imagine it would be funny if you could go into a fragrance store and say: "Hello. I'd like some Allure Homme Sport, a little Prada Candy, maybe Guerlain's Robe Noir and Shalimar, a little Chanel No5... oh and please add something niche" :DD
Hey hey hey, have a nice evening, see you then :)

(or also... a delicious mixed bag, hmmm.... that would be good now, you know that too, don't you? OR?!!!), or in this case... a mixed bottle :DD
The fragrance:
The fragrance begins mainly with iris and also smells quite clean with a very light, sweetish background. The fragrance pyramid says iris root, but to me it definitely smells like iris (because to me an iris root smells kind of carrot-like). There are also aldehydes, although they are not that strong. Somehow the beginning reminds me of a mix of Chanel No5 and Prada Infusion d'Iris. However, this impression doesn't last too long, so the fragrance then becomes sweeter and more floral with a faint fruity background that makes it difficult to identify the individual fragrance notes.

Roughly speaking, however, you can at least smell the powdery notes and the aldehydes throughout the fragrance.
The sillage and the durability:
The sillage is weak, so it will only be easy to smell at the beginning and will hardly be noticeable later if you are not close enough to someone. The longevity is quite okay. I would say the fragrance stays on the skin for about six hours, depending on the dosage, despite the weak sillage. The bottle:
The bottle... wasn't there a photo of the bottle here on Parfumo? Anyway, the bottle is rectangular and angular. It is silver or chrome-plated, whereby you can see the glass of the bottle on the sides and thus also the yellowish fragrance liquid. The spray head has been integrated into the bottle without a lid. All in all, everything looks good. Conclusion:
Well, I found the fragrance a little difficult to describe, as it jumped from one scent to the next at times, before ending up mainly powdery, sometimes stuffy and with aldehydes on a path that it stayed on to some extent. As described, it simply smells of many fragrances, which is not so bad in itself, but somehow you can't do much with the fragrance. It's not bad, but it's also not something that I absolutely have to have or that I wouldn't miss if it no longer existed. A bird on your décolleté
Hello fragrance fanatics and welcome to a new commentary from me. Yes, it was time for me to write here again, I've had other things to do lately. But now I've once again stuck my nose into things that don't concern me... I meant I've been sniffing a new fragrance to be able to present something to you here again, hey hey.
Today I'm talking about the Gaultier fragrance "La Belle Paradise Garden". The term "paradise garden" is not meant in a religious sense, as the Gaultier website states that Gaultier's garden has been transformed into an imaginative garden with lush plants and wild creatures. This was the inspiration for the fragrance, which is supposed to exude untamed femininity (miaurrrrrrr?? :D).
Well, as advertising copy goes, I'd rather look at the breezily dressed models presenting this fragrance with their curves and well... yes, I like that sort of thing, and at least I admit it, so stop complaining and read on, man man man he he.
All right, let's see how exotic or animalic the scent smells!
A little later, you can also smell the ginger quite well, but the woody fragrance notes less so. And the lotus mentioned? Well, I have no idea... anyone who still knows me here knows that I'm an absolute loser when it comes to flowers, and when I think of lotus I probably think more of the car brand than the plant, not to mention the fact that I don't even know what a lotus looks like! Have a look at the pictures... hmm... remotely reminiscent of an artichoke... OR? I'm telling you, I have no idea about plants :D
So I can only say that the fragrance also has a floral component, but I can't describe this component in more detail.
In the end, it's mainly vanilla and ylang that remain, so the scent is sweet and softly powdery with a dash of stickiness (yes yes, I really don't like ylang and yes, admittedly, the ylang is not particularly strong in the base here and therefore even bearable, especially because the sweet scents shine through much more strongly... there are far worse scents with ylang-ylang, so I don't think this one is bad at all... :D).
But the main thing is that a fragrance should smell good on you, and this one smells good. Although I am not a fan of ylang-ylang, as described above, this fragrance is fortunately not too strong, so that you can enjoy the beautiful sweet and softer scents more. The ylang-ylang at least gives the fragrance a more exotic touch, because if you only smelled vanilla and powdery notes with a few flowers, the name Paradise Garden would seem all the more inappropriate.
What I should mention positively is that the fragrance hardly came across as synthetic to me and therefore doesn't come across as "quick and cheap", even if you shouldn't expect anything really high-quality.
You can definitely use the fragrance for going out. Although it radiates well, I don't think the fragrance is too heavy, so it could even be used well on not too hot summer days... if you don't overdo it with the dosage :)
Well, that's it from me again. I hope it won't take me too long to write something here again. Well, we'll see. Have a nice evening and see you then :)

All right, let's see how exotic or animalic the scent smells!
The fragrance:
The fragrance begins beautifully sweet with vanilla and an almond-like scent, which is probably the almond, of course, or the heliotrope, which also exudes an almond-like scent. The fragrance is also powdery and soft. It stays like this for a while before the ylang-ylang in particular begins to take effect and exudes a rather heavy, floral scent, which I often find a little stuffy. And it's no different here either, I don't like the scent of the ylang-ylang and I think this perfume would have been far better without this flower, but that's just my opinion and I think the ylang-ylang probably won't bother some of you at all. The sillage and the longevity:
The radiance of the fragrance is quite strong and it stays that way for a while. Therefore, the fragrance will be very easy to smell on you without having to get very close. As a result, the longevity is also quite good, so that it can still be smelled well on the skin after more than eight hours (but then of course with a lower sillage). The bottle:
The bottle is turquoise and shows the female body, although you can only see the torso with breasts and bottom,... well... that's all you need, I mean why a head or face when you have the most important features "at hand"... he he he okay I'm already quiet :D Anyway, this fragrance also has a more modern female body than the Classic series, which tends to focus on more realistic curves. I think the modern version is somehow better, but that's a matter of taste. I also like the flower and bird of paradise decorations on the neckline. All in all, a beautiful and handy bottle. Conclusion:
So, first of all, let's start with one thing: the fragrance is not that special. By that I don't mean that it smells bad, but that for me personally it has less of a recognizable feature... of course, this is very difficult today, as there are literally hundreds of thousands of fragrances and how can each fragrance be unique?

Got a cold again? Drink tea with ginger in it!
Hey hey, here I am again with a new fragrance review. Many people know that I like tea fragrances, which is why I have also tried many Green Tea fragrances from Elizabeth Arden. The White Tea fragrances are also a great range, which has now also produced quite a few fragrances.
I recently tried "Ginger Lily". It's a tea with ginger that people always recommend to me when I have a cold. Yes, it can be annoying, especially from younger people, to get recommendations that I've known for decades and have already given them advice for colds (you know, young people don't know anything anymore... Ask them who Ghandi or something was! Or Michael Jackson. Or what a CD was! Or how to do the simplest daily tasks WITHOUT having seen a tutorial on Tiktok :DDD). And then they want to give me advice and have no idea themselves, mu ha ha ha :))
Honestly, I already know what to do when I have a cold: Suck kilos of throat lozenges, slurp down liters of chicken soup and do one of the following depending on the number of consecutive sneezes:
sneeze 1 x: Stay in bed
2 x sneezes: Get a sick note immediately for no less than 2 weeks
sneeze 3 times: Whine and complain until girlfriend (if available) or mom takes care of you, ha ha :D
Uff... okay, I actually sometimes sneeze 5-6 times in a row, but strangely enough I never sneeze when I eat pepper :D
Anyway, back to the scent. So here we have a tea fragrance with ginger. Well, I'm not a big fan of ginger, but I don't think the scent of ginger is bad. It's just that the taste is so-so, depending on the meal. And I prefer to drink teas without ginger... and WITHOUT milk, that had to be said again, because tea + milk = Börks! :D
Okay, now for the fragrance description!
The tea can be smelled, but it is relatively weak. To me, the scent just seems "tea-like" rather than being able to say with certainty that it really is white tea or mate or any other particular tea. The ginger also only seems to be hinted at, as it seems extremely faint, at least to me.
Over time, some fragrance notes come through better, but still remain close to the skin. I can still smell tea in the base, some musk, faint citrusy notes and that's it for the most part. Tonka bean is only hinted at, which is kind of a shame, as tonka bean is a beautiful fragrance note and cedar hardly seems to be present either. The mix in general is quite nice, but as already mentioned several times, everything turned out relatively weak in terms of radiance.
As a result, the longevity seems relatively short with only a few hours of persistence.
Its freshness makes it a nice spring and summer fragrance, but due to the aforementioned weak radiance, the fragrance is more for yourself, as you will hardly stand out with it. But that doesn't matter, because sometimes you just want to enjoy a fragrance yourself and White Tea Ginger Lily is perfect for that.
If you want to try a slightly stronger (and sweeter, spicier) ginger tea fragrance, I would recommend "Five o'clock au gingembre" by Serge Lutens.
Well, I would have tested another nice tea fragrance, which I always like to do, because I like tea in general, but WITHOUT milk, oops I probably mentioned that at the beginning, but honestly, how can you put MILK in tea, aaaargh! :D
But I love coffee with milk, he he :DDD
Well then, have a nice evening, see you next time :)

Okay, now for the fragrance description!
The fragrance:
Hm, somehow the fragrance starts almost exactly like the normal (i.e. very first) White Tea fragrance. That is to say, I smell citrusy notes, especially a mandarin, all of which are unfortunately extremely weak and quite close to the body.
The mix in general is quite nice, but as already mentioned several times, everything turned out relatively weak in terms of radiance.
The sillage and the longevity:
The sillage is once again the absolute biggest point of criticism here, as the fragrance is really weak on the skin, i.e. it is quite close to the body and can therefore best be perceived by yourself, but even that is only good if you smell close to the sprayed area. As a result, the longevity seems relatively short with only a few hours of persistence.
The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and narrow and has a white color gradient from top to bottom. The fragrance name is written in red letters at the bottom. The neck of the bottle is bronze-colored and a rectangular, white lid sits on top. It's all quite simple, but nice to look at. The bottle also sits comfortably in the hand. Conclusion:
Soo... in itself we have a nice fragrance here, which smells pleasantly of tea, citrus and ginger and you also don't smell anything synthetic. Unfortunately, the fragrance is generally extremely weak in terms of radiance, so it's best to fill it into a small sprayer so that you can spray it on every now and then if you want to smell more of the fragrance and are on the go.
