A vanilla in a safe?
Hello, I'm finally here again with a new fragrance review, and today it's about "Trésor La Nuit Vanille Noire" by Lancôme. The La Nuit range is a fragrance series that was recommended to me here by a perfumer, well, actually she really talked and shouted at me so that I would finally describe this fragrance series here :D
If she's still here, I'm sure the perfumer I'm referring to will feel addressed, as the Trésor La Nuit fragrances usually attract her like a moth to a flame. So it's possible that she'll come fluttering in here too :D

But I have to admit that these fragrances are really great. You can like Trésor or not, but the La Nuit fragrances from the Trésor range are really fabulous, elegant and also very sexy fragrances, similar to the Alien fragrances. ... Wait, don't run away just because I mentioned Alien, you bastards!!! ... Hmph... maybe I should insult you more perfumed? You... uhh... flacons? Nah, I'm sure you'd like that too, because you really like everything that has to do with fragrances, so I'm sure you'd say the following about yourselves:

"Hi hi, I'm a fragrance!"
"I am a vanilla!"
"I am a beautiful bottle"
"I am a... Berliner?!"... :DDD

But well, back to Trésor and La Nuit. Well, you don't test a fragrance for a while and then you don't know any of the fragrances that have appeared on the shelves. Phew, I've really been out of fragrances for longer than I thought, who knows how many fragrances or flankers of good fragrance series I've missed or not yet described. A little longer and I certainly wouldn't have known the difference between EDT and EDP :D
But I'm here today, after all :)

The fragrance:
The fragrance seems to have the DNA of the previous Trésor La Nuit fragrances and starts accordingly sweet. Although not stated, I have the feeling of smelling fruity berries in the top note, but that may just be my impression. The sweetness definitely comes from the vanilla, because the honey seems to be more in the background and is actually barely noticeable, because after the top note you can't smell any honey at all.
A little later, the fragrance becomes slightly spicier, but the sweetness still predominates; after all, the vanilla is quite strong, but in a pleasant way so that it doesn't seem overwhelming. Incidentally, the fruity note at the beginning could also be rose, I don't know, as I said, the vanilla masks a lot, so I'm not entirely sure about some of the fragrance notes here.
Finally, a little later, you can smell the increasingly strong oud. This is kind of new to this range (at least for me, as I hadn't tried La Nuits in 2-3 years and only remember these fragrances as being purely sweet). Although I'm not an oud fan, I think that you can still enjoy the fragrance even if you're not an oud lover because, firstly, the other fragrance notes still radiate and thus create a good overall package, and secondly, the oud gains strength rather slowly and only becomes really strong in the late base. The specified leather notes are not particularly strong, but you can still clearly perceive them up close, and I also think that leather and oud in particular have become a good combination here.
In the base, the vanilla is the strongest fragrance note until it loses a little of its power after a few hours, making the oud, the second strongest fragrance note, seem more intense.
This is also my only point of criticism, as the strong oud was a little distracting, at least for me personally. The fragrance is nevertheless good, and those who like oud may even find this fragrance really good.

The sillage and the longevity:
The sillage is strong, so you can certainly smell the fragrance on you for a while. The longevity is also extremely good at 8-10 hours and even longer. Incidentally, you can smell the fragrance intensely on your clothes for days!

The bottle:
The bottle is the usual (upside down) pyramid shape with a bright, reddish fragrance liquid. Incidentally, I wouldn't spray the fragrance on white clothing. I didn't notice anything on my skin, but I definitely saw a slight pink discoloration on a white test strip.
In any case, you can still see a black bow on the neck of the bottle, which is a very nice detail and clearly enhances the bottle. All in all, the bottle is very pretty, but may take a little getting used to when handling.

Conclusion:
So, I think this Trésor is also convincing, although it is not suitable for all those who don't particularly like overly sweet fragrances, as it initially has quite a high "sugar content" despite the oud and leather. However, I have to say (I can't believe I'm saying this now!) that La Nuits is a little more elegant than the Alien fragrances and could therefore be tested by anyone who doesn't really like overly sweet fragrances. This flanker in particular comes across as more mature with its oud note, which is perhaps also a reason for testing it. Especially as this fragrance note can be smelled quite clearly and intensely later on.

The fragrance is very suitable for going out or for the evening in general and has become a pure fall and winter fragrance for me, as it smells really sweet (and later spicy-odorous) with a very high radiance and could quickly overwhelm on warm days.

The perfumer who showed me and recommended this fragrance series can also breathe a sigh of relief that I also gave it a good rating here, but at some point I'll find another flanker that's miserable, because that happens with pretty much all fragrance series :D
However, if I had to list all La Nuit fragrances in a ranking list, this fragrance would be at the bottom of my list :D

Anyway, I'm done with my comment, thanks for reading and have a nice evening. Hope to "see" you again soon :)

No, this is not an alien fragrance, so please read this! :D
Hey guys! Yes, I'm still here, and yes I know I haven't written anything lately, but I've just been busier. I'll probably be writing a little less often here for a while, but when I have more time again or have collected enough fragrance samples, I might start posting more regularly again, but probably not until next year (my Christmas blog is definitely coming :D). So, for now, let's talk about the fragrance here:

Well, where should I start? I could complain that you women don't actually like Mugler fragrances, then I'd call you idiots and, well, you know what I mean! d
Well, on the other hand, this is not about an alien fragrance, which you all detest... you idiots!!... but about the Angel range of this brand. You know, the range of fragrances that was quite intense, especially at the beginning with the EDT and EDP, which not everyone necessarily liked because it just smelled so different and unusual. Over the years, I have tried a few Angels, including some good and some less successful fragrances, as it happens.

And when I saw Elixir on the shelf, I thought that I could present a reasonably up-to-date fragrance here again. Of course, I tried the fragrance as soon as the store opened, when there were hardly any customers around, because I still have problems spraying certain women's fragrances on my arm in public. But in the morning it worked, so I took off my awesome Batman shoulder bag (you know I'm a nerd, so I had to mention Batman in a review again after all this time, he he), took off my jacket, rolled up my shirt and sprayed myself. Well, and this is my impression of it now:

The fragrance:
The first thing you notice is that the fragrance does not immediately begin with the typical Angel DNA. The top note, even though it already seems to smell opulent, is even softer here with a slightly fruity-berry sweetness, which comes from the pink pepper, which despite its name does not really smell like pepper and is not related to it.
In any case, you can soon smell the typical sweetness of jasmine, which is pleasantly fragrant.
What I like less is the ylang-ylang, which I don't like in any fragrance. Fortunately, it is only used discreetly here, but it is still a fragrance note that bothers me because, for me personally, it is one of the fragrance notes that I don't like at all...
In the base, the berry-fruity scent has long since disappeared again, now the typical, long-lasting sweet scent notes come in, above all the vanilla, which comes across a little less intensely here than in most other fragrances.
Ylang-ylang can still be smelled. The ylang-ylang initially becomes much more intense in the base, but this does not last so long (lucky :D), so that a little later you can only smell the ylang-ylang to some extent in the background, and the base actually consists almost exclusively of warm fragrance notes such as mainly vanilla.

The sillage and the longevity:
The sillage is quite strong, although there are much stronger Angel fragrances. I don't really have to write anything about the longevity here, as usual the fragrance easily lasts 8-10 hours, even longer on clothing.

The bottle:
The bottle is shaped like the famous Mugler star and looks wonderful and creative. This time it has a dark blue fragrance liquid. The last "prong" of the star on the bottle is again chrome-plated and has the spray head integrated so that no lid is necessary.
All in all, the design has hardly changed, but it doesn't have to, as I personally find the Angel bottles just as wonderfully designed as the Alien bottles.

Conclusion:
Well, I don't think the fragrance is as bad as you might think from the rather average reviews here on Parfumo, but everyone has slightly different tastes. Anyway, this fragrance seems to move a little more away from the original Angel DNA and takes a less spicy, more sweet-gourmand direction. Of course, one flaw that I could mention is the fact that the fragrance smells a little too generic and sweet from the heart note and especially from the base. By that I mean that the way it smells, you already know many fragrances. And without an intense Angel DNA, something is lost here in terms of recognizability, but well, I wouldn't necessarily say that the fragrance is therefore bad, it just perhaps belongs to the somewhat less successful Angel fragrances. Especially for me, because the ylang-ylang just annoys the hell out of me, but even that doesn't last, as the late base only smells sweet.

I think gourmand or sugary-sweet fans could definitely enjoy the fragrance if their expectations are not high enough. You simply have to try it for yourself. And I bet some of you still prefer to test this fragrance rather than the great Alien Goddess or Alien Hypersense (or Alien fragrances in general)... ufff... did I already call you ladies idiots? :DD

In any case, the fragrance is wearable from fall and winter, on warm days such fragrances are really oppressive. I would recommend wearing it in the evening or when going out, a fragrance like this every day at school/university/work might be a bit too exhausting for others :))

Well, that's it from me again, have a nice evening and I hope to write here more often again in the near future, see you then :)

Coffee in the barber store
Hello and welcome to a new fragrance review from me. Today I'm writing about the men's fragrance "Valentino Uomo - Green Stravaganza" from Valentino's "Born in Roma" fragrance range (which is also available for women, by the way).

It's been a long time since I've had Valentino fragrances under my nose, so I also tried the "normal" Valentino Uomo again. And then the memory of the fragrance came back: a beautiful, sweet and creamy coffee scent that smells great and is particularly suitable for fall and winter.

With the scent back in my head, I ventured into the new "Born in Roma" fragrances. Well, these fragrances are also a few years old and not really new, but I've had less to do with fragrances in recent years, especially the Valentino fragrances, as I've been more preoccupied with cats and video games and freak nerd stuff... or even trying to foist certain fragrances like the Alien series on the ladies here, unfortunately with rather poor success *sigh*,... maybe I should really only describe men's fragrances if nobody listens to me :D

Soo, at the moment I could only test the Green Stravaganza, as there were no testers of the other fragrances (again), but I hope that I will be able to try the other fragrances in the series, maybe also the women's fragrances, in time and describe them here.

Just from the look of the bottles alone, the fragrances draw you in really quickly to try them, which is probably why I came back to Valentino... so, as always, I'm a kind of bottle victim who simply likes good-looking or well-designed bottles and therefore always has to grumble, especially with the very simple bottles, especially with most niche fragrances :D

Right, now let's get to the fragrance!

The fragrance:
The fragrance is basically quite simple. At the beginning, it smells of citrusy notes, which is refreshing. After that, you can soon smell the coffee, although it doesn't smell as intense as you might expect from the "normal" Valentino Uomo. The coffee here also smells nice, but it is very short-lived and therefore fades quickly.
In the base, the coffee is finally overlaid by vetiver, which then remains the only main fragrance note until the end. The vetiver smells a little green, a little grassy, a little earthy and is therefore reminiscent of classic, barber-shop-like fragrances. The fragrance is also a little sweet in the background. All in all, the fragrance is nothing special because it has already been smelled in this form in many other fragrances, but it doesn't smell bad either.

The sillage and the longevity:
The sillage is average to weak, it won't stand out so well at a longer distance. The longevity is okay, six or seven hours is easily possible, even if the radiance will naturally become weaker later on.

The bottle:
The bottle has a slightly oval base and is "littered" with lots of small, pyramidal and pointed surfaces, which is a trademark of Valentino fragrances, so to speak. It looks great and even gives you a better grip. This fragrance has a color gradient from dark to light green, which looks very nice. At the top, the bottle ends in a dome, followed by the neck, which is also pyramid-shaped. The lid is black and cylindrical. On the front you can see a leather-like label with the brand name, here written in green letters on a black background to match the bottle. All in all, the bottle looks fantastic.

Conclusion:
Soo, my impression of this fragrance is that it smells quite nice. However, it also has something trivial about it, i.e. it doesn't smell anything special, especially not in a way that triggers that famous "want to have" effect. It's actually just another reasonably well-made "typical men's fragrance" that smells as if you've had a fresh shave (hence the term "barber store fragrance"), even if the vetiver makes it smell a little heavier at the end rather than really fresh.

Nevertheless, Green Stravaganza, which somehow means "green extravagance", is not a fragrance that is purely intended for colder days, but can certainly be used as an everyday, somewhat simple fragrance. Especially at work and so on. In my opinion, it is less suitable as a fragrance for going out, as there are much nicer fragrances for this, even from Valentino.

The fragrance isn't really bad, if that's what some people think based on the low Parfumo ratings, but it's nothing extraordinary either. You can give it a try, especially if you like Valentino fragrances in general, but there are still more beautiful fragrances.

And that's it for this fragrance here, thanks for reading and have a nice evening, see you all next time :)

Nobody listens to me... NOBODY, AAAARGHRGHG!!!
Hello fragrance fanatics, here I am again to tell you about an alien fragrance. Once again... Even if most of you will roll your eyes, I still think that this fragrance series is one of the scents that really works great on women. You are simply more seductive, come across as more gorgeous and sexier than usual and yes, make sure that you can approach men much more easily so that you can just be really nasty again :D
Oops, that slipped out again, the power of habit he he :))

But no matter how great I think the fragrances are and always describe them in detail here, nobody seems to wear Alien and I really doubt the intelligence of you ladies, he he. They are such seductive fragrances but no, I can't smell them anywhere. Every morning when I take public transportation to work, I smell all kinds of scents. And I think most of them are the typical classics like Armani for the guys, Gaultier for the ladies or wet dog for, well, dogs when it's raining... :D
But Alien? Nothing! Nada! Never ever! Whether it's an elegant older lady or a young bouncer with a short skirt, endless legs, great curves and... hey hey I could rave on forever and yes, I know I always have dirty thoughts, and you know that too, bah, so on with the text! Well, I couldn't smell alien on any lady or girl!

What am I getting at? I've been here on Parfumo for almost 10 years now. And in that time, according to my records, I have described exactly 17 Alien fragrances for you ladies (including this fragrance review here). 17 Alien comments!!!! SEVENTEEN!!! And I've almost always tried to convince you ladies to try these fragrances! But no one does! It's maddening, aaaaaaarghrghrg!!! Well, admittedly there are some aliens that are less successful, like Flora Futura, Sunessence or Mirage. But most of them simply smell nice, even if they are perhaps not exceptional. Nevertheless, they are really worth testing. Okay, the Alien Goddess from 2021 was just "okay and nice", but the Goddess Intense here from 2022, ufff, it really turned out great! Take a look at the fragrance description:

The fragrance:
As expected, the fragrance starts off very sweet, but also has a light, tart touch at the beginning, so it doesn't immediately smell like a typical Alien. Of course, the Alien DNA comes out quite quickly, but there is this unexpected scent in the top note, which is probably coconut. In any case, the top note smells beautiful and seductive as usual.
Jasmine, which is one of the main fragrance notes in almost all Aliens, is also intensely present here and, as always, smells beautiful and very sweet. The vanilla adds a further sweetness that also makes the fragrance more powdery.
Later on, the fragrance continues to be quite sweet and powdery. You can smell the jasmine very well and the intense vanilla even better. Coconut can also be detected, which gives the fragrance a nice change compared to most other Alien fragrances, but also makes the fragrance a little heavier than you are used to from an Alien. Unfortunately, you can't smell the jasmine tea at all, which I think is a shame.
In the base, the coconut becomes weaker again and eventually disappears completely. Then you can only smell the vanilla, which still smells very nice for a few hours. Overall, Goddess Intense is a very beautiful fragrance and also a huge improvement on the original Goddess.

The sillage and the longevity:
The sillage is good, so you can quickly overdose (if you ever wear it... hmpf!). The longevity is also extremely long lasting. On skin alone, the fragrance seems to last a good 10 hours, on clothes probably even 10 days or so :D

The bottle:
The bottle is again the usual and in my opinion great looking bottle. This time it has a golden coloration that is transparent. The golden accents have remained the same as usual. The upper, crystalline-looking area is colorless. As always, there is no lid, but due to the design of the bottle, there is no need for a lid. All in all, the bottle is very successful as always and looks more elegant than usual thanks to the golden coloring.

Conclusion:
Okay, first of all: The Alien Goddess is now available in three versions: The normal Goddess (2021), the Goddess Intense (2022) and the Supra Florale (2023), which I haven't seen yet though. Well, the normal Goddess is just okay, but the Goddess Intense is really great, really! No, then don't believe me!

Anyway, the fragrance here is a nice scent that is particularly suitable for going out, or even for leisure. Best on cooler days in spring, fall and winter. In summer, especially now during heat waves, I would recommend it less, as such strong fragrances can be very tiring.

And unlike the other flankers in the Alien range, which disappear from the market far too quickly, you can still find and test Goddess Intense in stores! And it's best to test the Alien from this year (i.e. from 2024) at the same time, that would be the Hypersense, which turned out even more beautiful and which none of you wanted to test anyway.
Honestly, why am I going to all this trouble to write all these comments about the aliens? You never test them anyway! Argh! Maybe I should just go back to threatening never to write again if you don't do as I say, but you don't believe me anyway...
Let's see what kind of alien comes out next year. Maybe I'll be able to convince you then, we'll see... but I don't believe it myself because... you're just incorrigible, crazy beasts, ha! Then just go and stink, hey hey :D

I think it's better to go out with a real alien lady than to wait until I meet one who likes to wear alien! And no, I'm not talking about some goo blobs with tentacles or something, but the alien ladies who look kind of hot and cute. Hm, Supergirl (boah I haven't mentioned her here in a while!) is such a cute alien lady (especially when she's played by Melissa Benoist!). Looks just like a human though, you say? Hmm... how about Mantis from the Guardians of the Galaxy video game then (not the one from the movies!)? Sure, with her two antennae on her head, big green eyes and purple skin color, she looks really alien-like and maybe even a bit insectoid, but somehow she also has a pretty-cute appearance, and above all, she's certainly a lot better than Parfumas, who are all witches anyway! Oops, I didn't mean to say that out loud... Hey hey... I shouldn't make fun of you ladies so often, you think? Then go test Alien, dammit, and I'll be a lot kinder to you! :D

Well then, that's it again. Have a nice evening, see you next time :)

Lemons that come out of the tap?
Hi guys, how are you? I'm not doing too well. I just don't like summer. Sure, you're considered weird if you don't like summer, but it's getting hotter every year. As I type this, it's one of the high points of another heatwave today (or yesterday, I wrote this on Saturday). It's around 32-33 degrees, but it feels like a few degrees more. A third of the day was still slightly cloudy, but the heat here is still stifling!

So, do you still like summer? YES?? Then you're really beyond help. I already had my doubts about you when I kept reading how much you liked fragrances like Black Death,... oh I meant Black Orchid of course. These doubts became stronger when most of you said that you also liked scents like coriander and ylang-ylang. But if you're also into hot days like that, well... then you're hopelessly crazy :D

Maybe the heat has just fried a few brain cells, who knows? But don't worry, there's a little solution to all this: Citrus Colognes! Yes, the effect only lasts a few minutes, but most of them only cost a little money and you can spray them on again and again and at least provide a short-term refreshment! Phew, that really sounded like advertising.

Anyway, one of these colognes is "Çeşme Limonu" by Eyüb Sabri Tuncer. As you might have guessed, limon means lemon in Turkish. Çeşme means well or spring. However, it is usually also used for tap, Çeşme suyu means tap water, for example. So "Çeşme Limonu" probably means well lemons, spring lemons... or also... er... tap water lemons? :)))
No... it probably means lemons from the town of Çeşme.... Yep, Çeşme is also a city in Turkey, and Çeşme lemons is probably the more likely translation :D
I couldn't find out whether the lemons from this city are somehow special, and my Turkish relatives were as stupid as me and had no idea... argh :DD

The only thing I can say about Çeşme is that it's a very popular vacation spot, even for locals. I was there myself many, many years ago and loved it, although it wasn't as developed back then as it is today.

But that's enough of my ranting, now I'll finally get to the fragrance description!

The fragrance:
The fragrance starts off quite interesting. Because although it smells nice and refreshing like lemons, I can't shake off the feeling that I'm also smelling a scent like tea, which I also find very pleasant. The fragrance also smells a little tart, as if you were smelling dried tea leaves, only mixed with lemons.
A little later, the tea scent seems to disappear, but the fragrance remains tart.
The fragrance remains tartly citrusy until the end, with the citrus scent becoming milder and slightly creamier towards the end. It is only very slightly sweet.
In the later base, the fragrance remains as described, but takes on a slightly classic note with the oakmoss, even if the oakmoss is relatively weak. All in all, a fine and above all very refreshing fragrance.

The sillage and the longevity:
The fragrance is extremely short-lived and I had the feeling that I could hardly smell anything after just 30 minutes, as it was then very close to the body. The fragrance's radiance was correspondingly weak.

The bottle:
There are several versions of the bottle. Most, especially larger bottles with tons of content are usually made of plastic. But there are also variants with glass bottles. The design of the bottles is now different to what you can see here on Parfumo. The bottle is cylindrical, has grooves and a label with a nice lemon/plant drawing on it. The lid is made of plastic and looks rather cheap. It's nothing special, but okay.

Conclusion:
So, of the Eyüp Sabri Tuncer colognes I've tried so far, this one is one of the nicest fragrances. Sure, I like citrus fragrances in general, but this one doesn't seem cheap or synthetic, it's just beautifully made.

It is of course best used in spring and summer, especially as a refresher that you can use extensively on hot days. No wonder that these colognes are also available in larger liters in real tubs, ufff :D In any case, almost ALL households in Turkey always have at least one cologne at hand, although this is not so much out of love for fragrances, but simply as a tradition and courtesy to offer colognes to guests, just like offering tea to all guests at all times and in all seasons.

Personally, I always think it's great when I'm visiting somewhere in Turkey, as it's always exciting to see what kind of cologne is on offer. On the other hand... it's always a lemon cologne 90% of the time, but at least it's always good in summer :))

Even today, on this really hot day, I sprayed the scent on several times and felt like I could breathe a little more air in this heat. Because it's extremely hot outside and it's a bit stuffy inside by now, but I still can't ventilate because it's still so hot and humid that all the heat would come in, ufff... did I say I hate summer? Hey hey! At least it's finally getting a bit cooler now!

Well, the day is almost done (which also means the weekend is almost over again *sigh*), so have a nice evening and see you next time :)
