Hello, I'm finally here again with a new fragrance review, and today it's about "Trésor La Nuit Vanille Noire" by Lancôme. The La Nuit range is a fragrance series that was recommended to me here by a perfumer, well, actually she really talked and shouted at me so that I would finally describe this fragrance series here :D
If she's still here, I'm sure the perfumer I'm referring to will feel addressed, as the Trésor La Nuit fragrances usually attract her like a moth to a flame. So it's possible that she'll come fluttering in here too :D
But I have to admit that these fragrances are really great. You can like Trésor or not, but the La Nuit fragrances from the Trésor range are really fabulous, elegant and also very sexy fragrances, similar to the Alien fragrances. ... Wait, don't run away just because I mentioned Alien, you bastards!!! ... Hmph... maybe I should insult you more perfumed? You... uhh... flacons? Nah, I'm sure you'd like that too, because you really like everything that has to do with fragrances, so I'm sure you'd say the following about yourselves:
"Hi hi, I'm a fragrance!"
"I am a vanilla!"
"I am a beautiful bottle"
"I am a... Berliner?!"... :DDD
But well, back to Trésor and La Nuit. Well, you don't test a fragrance for a while and then you don't know any of the fragrances that have appeared on the shelves. Phew, I've really been out of fragrances for longer than I thought, who knows how many fragrances or flankers of good fragrance series I've missed or not yet described. A little longer and I certainly wouldn't have known the difference between EDT and EDP :D
But I'm here today, after all :)
The fragrance:
The fragrance seems to have the DNA of the previous Trésor La Nuit fragrances and starts accordingly sweet. Although not stated, I have the feeling of smelling fruity berries in the top note, but that may just be my impression. The sweetness definitely comes from the vanilla, because the honey seems to be more in the background and is actually barely noticeable, because after the top note you can't smell any honey at all.
A little later, the fragrance becomes slightly spicier, but the sweetness still predominates; after all, the vanilla is quite strong, but in a pleasant way so that it doesn't seem overwhelming. Incidentally, the fruity note at the beginning could also be rose, I don't know, as I said, the vanilla masks a lot, so I'm not entirely sure about some of the fragrance notes here.
Finally, a little later, you can smell the increasingly strong oud. This is kind of new to this range (at least for me, as I hadn't tried La Nuits in 2-3 years and only remember these fragrances as being purely sweet). Although I'm not an oud fan, I think that you can still enjoy the fragrance even if you're not an oud lover because, firstly, the other fragrance notes still radiate and thus create a good overall package, and secondly, the oud gains strength rather slowly and only becomes really strong in the late base. The specified leather notes are not particularly strong, but you can still clearly perceive them up close, and I also think that leather and oud in particular have become a good combination here.
In the base, the vanilla is the strongest fragrance note until it loses a little of its power after a few hours, making the oud, the second strongest fragrance note, seem more intense.
This is also my only point of criticism, as the strong oud was a little distracting, at least for me personally. The fragrance is nevertheless good, and those who like oud may even find this fragrance really good.
The sillage and the longevity:
The sillage is strong, so you can certainly smell the fragrance on you for a while. The longevity is also extremely good at 8-10 hours and even longer. Incidentally, you can smell the fragrance intensely on your clothes for days!
The bottle:
The bottle is the usual (upside down) pyramid shape with a bright, reddish fragrance liquid. Incidentally, I wouldn't spray the fragrance on white clothing. I didn't notice anything on my skin, but I definitely saw a slight pink discoloration on a white test strip.
In any case, you can still see a black bow on the neck of the bottle, which is a very nice detail and clearly enhances the bottle. All in all, the bottle is very pretty, but may take a little getting used to when handling.
Conclusion:
So, I think this Trésor is also convincing, although it is not suitable for all those who don't particularly like overly sweet fragrances, as it initially has quite a high "sugar content" despite the oud and leather. However, I have to say (I can't believe I'm saying this now!) that La Nuits is a little more elegant than the Alien fragrances and could therefore be tested by anyone who doesn't really like overly sweet fragrances. This flanker in particular comes across as more mature with its oud note, which is perhaps also a reason for testing it. Especially as this fragrance note can be smelled quite clearly and intensely later on.
The fragrance is very suitable for going out or for the evening in general and has become a pure fall and winter fragrance for me, as it smells really sweet (and later spicy-odorous) with a very high radiance and could quickly overwhelm on warm days.
The perfumer who showed me and recommended this fragrance series can also breathe a sigh of relief that I also gave it a good rating here, but at some point I'll find another flanker that's miserable, because that happens with pretty much all fragrance series :D
However, if I had to list all La Nuit fragrances in a ranking list, this fragrance would be at the bottom of my list :D
Anyway, I'm done with my comment, thanks for reading and have a nice evening. Hope to "see" you again soon :)
