Memories Come Alive
Now I finally had the luck to receive a sample of this beautiful scent. The description immediately appealed to me, but I was skeptical about its similarity to Cuero Mujer. I had once bought a miniature of that and found it absolutely terrible. Now I am sure it must have gone off. I also learned it was very old and more suited for a display case. The leathery note could still be detected a bit, but otherwise it was just bitter, sour, musty, and piercing.
I really like Bottega Veneta Eau Legere. Perhaps also because this scent immediately brings back memories of my little toy poodle, whom I received as a gift from my parents when I was a young girl. He was a particularly sweet and affectionate animal, and I loved him very much. When the dog was slowly growing up, I went for the first time to a dog groomer with my friend, and it smelled exactly like the Eau Legere there. The lady must have worn a very similar perfume, which I liked right away. However, I associated the initial leather scent with the leather collars she also sold there. Back then, I didn’t know that there were perfumes with leather notes. During subsequent visits, it smelled the same again, and I could still perceive that scent on my dog's fur after the visits.
I particularly remember one specific day in summer. My friend and I were again at the dog groomer, and afterwards we went for a walk in the adjacent forest. The dog always ran without a leash because he never ran away and was very loyal and affectionate. But this time it was different. Suddenly, a horde of soldiers in green uniforms marched towards us, and my dog panicked and took off. I called out desperately and ran after him, but he was simply nowhere to be found. Completely distraught, we eventually went home. My father, who was also very attached to the dog, immediately drove with me to the forest, and we searched everything again, but unfortunately without success. I was heartbroken and, of course, couldn’t sleep. That night, my father went outside every two hours in the hope that the dog might have found his way back. And then indeed, around 5 a.m., I heard a patter and saw my very relieved father come through the door. I was overjoyed and took the totally exhausted and fortunately uninjured dog in my arms.

I have unfortunately strayed very far from the topic, but I still find it so amazing how a dog can find its way back over so many kilometers in the dark and through so many streets and turns.

But now back to the scent: I find it very interesting because, on the one hand, it has a scent progression for me; at the beginning, the leather is very dominant, then it diminishes a bit, and it becomes sweeter, fresher, and woodier. On the other hand, it still forms a kind of unity overall and remains present without significantly weakening.

This scent will definitely always remain in my collection, not least because of the association with my dog back then.

The Divine Paradise Garden
I must now also express my positive thoughts on this fragrance, as I am quite surprised by the many discouraging comments. This once again proves that scents can indeed develop extremely differently on the skin, of course aside from personal tastes. I came to this perfume through a sample that was included with my blind order of Nuxe Prodigieuse. I found that scent quite dreadful, however.

I actually don't have what you would call a "fragrance skin." I find that many scents unfortunately don't last particularly well on my skin and develop differently than I expected. But here, the perfume seems to create a favorable symbiosis with my skin. It smells very fine, elegant, and anything but musty or like stagnant water. As already mentioned here, it clearly stands out from the other fragrances in the line, such as sur le Nil, which I also like. I can distinctly smell the woodiness and salty seawater here. I really enjoy both, but often woody scents are too harsh for me. Here, however, it is very soft and rather feminine, perhaps due to the magnolia and the slight sweetness of the Madonna lily; I also really like the sunscreen component.

The longevity is fine for me at almost 8 hours, and the sillage is not too abundant but completely sufficient. The scent gives me a sense of well-being, and I find it clean and delicately caressing. I would want to wear it both in summer and winter. In any case, I am happy to have found this beautiful fragrance, as I was just looking for such a warm, softly creamy scent.
