Wow...just wow!
Greetings, dear perfumas and perfumos !

After reviewing my first fragrance from Casamorati's XerJoffs range earlier, I thought I'd continue with this equally wonderful scent from the same house. I've been meaning to do this review for a while now and it's finally the turn of the hype-beast Tony Iommi Monkey Special !

As you can probably tell from my headline, I'm really taken with this wonderful XerJoff creation.
XerJoff has really outdone himself again with this fragrance! The Monkey Special is one of those fragrances where after the first spray I thought to myself "This is exactly the scent I've always dreamed of"...if you know what I mean.

I particularly like the opening of this fragrance. Sweet passion fruit and a good load of rum, really "boozy" at the beginning. This "booziness" at the beginning almost gives the fragrance a sweet, gourmand note. This red thread remains subtle but persists until the base of caramel, vanilla and tonka bean.
And it is precisely this "booziness" that initially gives the Monkey Special a slight resemblance to Parfums de Marly's "Oajan".
Later on, the fragrance becomes really rough, darker, dirtier - a rock star fragrance - but at the very highest level. A really beautiful, dark patchouli with plenty of leathery notes. Plus the really beautiful, sweet, warm base...this fragrance is simply gorgeous.

The Monkey Special definitely makes its wearer stand out from the crowd. It also gives you that bad boy character. Another really spectacular creation by XerJoff, a true masterpiece that definitely comes close to other masterpieces like Naxos. What I also find quite nice is that it has a goth vibe with these almost dark, dirty patchouli notes and in my opinion is also a fragrance that I could imagine on a vampire. I don't know why, but somehow I just love these dark, gloomy vampire fragrances.

Longevity and sillage are very strong. VERY STRONG. Only 2-4 sprays are enough to leave a sick cloud of scent behind you. Nevertheless, in my opinion, this is a fragrance that you can definitely take a few more sprays of, as it is strong and sexy, but I wouldn't describe it as obtrusive in a negative sense, only in a positive one ;)

The bottle and packaging are even more striking, even by XerJoff standards. The beautiful box made of black leather, plus the insanely beautiful bottle in silver-grey/metallic with the elaborate decorations - simply top! Anyone who gives this less than 9 is really beyond help.

Also a price-performance monster. Yes, it's not cheap. Especially not the 100 ml version, which I also own for the proud price of 395 euros, BUT you get something for your money. Starting with the packaging, to the noble bottle par excellence, to the fragrance, which is not only OUTSTANDING but also a true H/S monster.

I can only recommend this fragrance! More than lives up to the hype!

More gourmand is really not possible!
Greetings, dear perfumas and perfumos!

Today I have chosen another fragrance from the wonderful Italian house of XerJoff, but for a change a fragrance from the Casamorati range, starting with Italica.

I chose this fragrance as the first in the Casamorati range for a reason, as it is rated far too poorly here in my opinion. But more on that later.
Casamorati used to be a prestigious old Italian fragrance label, founded in 1888, which was then taken over by XerJoff. The typical XerJoff lids have of course been adopted with a touch of modern adaptation, but the shape of the bottle is different from that of the usual XerJoff fragrances, namely still in the old Casamorati style with the typical clay shape of the past.

Now we come to the actual fragrance. This is really as described by many users (myself included), from "syrup as perfume" to "gourmand his father".

The fragrance is really strong. Positively fierce. From the first time I sprayed it, I was in love with this fragrance. It's paradise, the land of milk and honey in a bottle. It really is so strongly gourmand that it's relatively difficult for me to make out all the fragrance notes, only a few individual ones such as almonds, milk, honey and caramel/toffee can definitely be detected. And the whole thing is of course created with the typical high quality of Xerjoff, using only the best and most exquisite ingredients. As I said, I can't really add much to the fragrance itself, as it is really gourmand-sweet. But in a unique way, there is certainly no fragrance on the market that is more gourmand than Italica from XerJoff's Casamorati range.
The perfumos among you who are big fans of gourmand fragrances (like me) are certainly well served here. However, if this fragrance is too sweet for you, you might prefer Lira (also from the Casamorati range) or Naxos, for example.

Longevity and sillage are really strong. The fragrance lasts at least 10-15 hours and you are left with a nice thick and sweet cloud of scent.

For me personally one of the most beautiful fragrances ever, it is definitely one of my absolute favorites. I'm not one for top 10s or top 10 XerJoffs or anything like that, because I think you always leave out beautiful fragrances that definitely deserve it, but Italica is one of those fragrances where I have to make an exception.

As usual with XerJoff, the bottle and packaging are an absolute 10/10!

Nostalgia in a bottle
Greetings, dear perfumas and perfumos!

After a short break, I continue today with a review of one of my absolute favorites in the classic/retro category: good old Jaguar For Men.

Jaguar For Men is - as the name suggests - made for the male Jaguar owner as he is in the book: professionally successful, with both feet on the ground and in a suit.

It starts slightly citrusy, but the wonderful masculine green and woody notes quickly dominate. Pine and patchouli are particularly noticeable. Later, amber in combination with tobacco provide a warming base. For me, a really very successful fragrance.
However, I am also a little biased towards this fragrance, as it brings back a lot of childhood memories for me because my father used to wear it a lot. He still uses it from time to time, but it used to be one of his signature fragrances. That's why this fragrance is like a kind of nostalgia in a bottle for me, as in my headline; for me, the fragrance will always symbolize safety, security and warmth.

Plus the really beautiful bottle...yes, it's one of the "simpler" varieties, but sometimes less is more. And it's particularly fitting for a company like Jaguar - why involve frills or even kitsch when you can keep it simple and classic? A pretty silver lid and then this really beautiful Slytherin green with the Jaguar on it...what more could you want? :)

Durability and sillage are okay, should easily last an average working day, especially with a few more sprays ;)

Price / performance also top, because you can get it for well under 20 euros on Amazon and Co. Highly recommended!

Lattafa can do that better
Greetings, dear perfumas and perfumos!
After taking a rather long break from writing reviews by my standards, it's time for me to get a little more active again and really hit the keys! :)

This time again a review about a fragrance from Lattafa, a brand that has always or at least mostly satisfied me.
Unfortunately, this is not really the case with both the "normal" Musamam and the Musamam White Intense.

Musamam White Intense is a slightly creamy fragrance with a sweet, chewing gum-like character. Ideal for spring and summer, as it is a sweet fragrance but still has a certain lightness. I can't clearly make out coconut, it's probably the ingredient that gives the fragrance its creaminess.

The longevity and sillage are good, Lattafa usually does a good job here - guaranteed to last 8h +, so at least a normal working day.

But as already indicated above :

Unfortunately, the fragrance did not convince me. It's not as if I don't like it at all, but I have some fragrances from Lattafa - including some that go in the same direction - such as "Afeef", "Mughal Fort" or the "Khamrahs", but for me these fragrances are not only better realized, but also seem to me to be of much better quality.
I have to say that I am used to better quality from Lattafa so far, Lattafa is clearly better at that.

The cousin of Habit Rouge
Greetings, my dear perfumas and perfumos!

Now that I've had a break from writing reviews for a few days, I felt like giving my opinion on a fragrance again today. Today it's the turn of the EdT from L'Instant pour Homme de Guerlain.
Like its "cousin" Habit Rouge, this EdT is a real classic. Like Habit Rouge, it is available as an EdP and is not the same version with a higher fragrance content as is the case with some other fragrances.

So let's get to the fragrance first :

In contrast to the EdP, it starts much spicier and, in my opinion, also has a slight touch of Habit Rouge at the beginning, with this spicy, slightly sour citrus. There's also an additional spicy-fresh note at the beginning that's a little hard to describe; it's somehow reminiscent of cucumber, cucumber water or a summery cucumber salad. However, please don't take this the wrong way - it definitely doesn't smell unpleasant and this note really disappears very quickly - similar to Habit Rouge, where the slightly cleaning agent-like citric note disappears very quickly at the beginning and becomes much more pleasant.

Later on, the fragrance also takes on a similarity to the EdP, but has its own character. It definitely becomes sweeter and minimally powdery and gourmand, but really rather subtle. There is also a certain light citrusiness. The EdP is similar, but is sweeter and more gourmand than the EdT, although the EdT comes very close to the EdP after about 1-2 hours.
But it's also good when the EdT and EdP of a fragrance have their own character, as this makes both the collection and its wearer a little more versatile.
Both also have very slight similarities with Habit Rouge, which is why I like to call them cousins. You can clearly recognize the signature of the famous fragrance house.

Longevity and sillage are ok, definitely 5-6 hours on the skin. Could be a little better in my opinion, but hey, it's not an eau de parfum, parfum, extrait de parfum etc.. Yes, there are one or two EdTs on the market with very good performance, such as A* by Mugler or Sauvage by Dior, but in most cases the eau de toilettes are somewhat weaker in terms of longevity and sillage. Speaking of which, the sillage is also rather mediocre in my opinion, unless you spray more on naturally. But even then, it should wear off considerably after a few hours. As with the EdP or Habit Rouge, this is not a loud fragrance that wants to stand out or attract attention - you will be noticed, albeit in an elegant and discreet way. It gives its wearer a serious aura.
But I think that's perfectly fine. Makes it ideal for work or for meeting friends/family and going out for a relaxed meal. Also suitable for leisure time. Furthermore, you can wear L'Instant pour Homme all year round without any problems.

So, now the final question: Is it better to get the EdT or EdP?
This decision is of course ultimately up to each of you, although personally - if I had to choose just one of the two - I would go for the EdP, as it is of course much better in terms of performance without the slightly curious opening of the EdT.
