Pineapple Candy in the Cedar Forest
Actually, I wanted to make fewer blind purchases, as my goal is to have a collection as small as possible with scents that I truly love instead of buying everything that isn't nailed down. That's why my collection is quite small, but it also saves money.
Sometimes, however, the bottle is so beautiful that it really draws you in... and this one is almost impossible to test in person before buying, and even online in Europe, it isn't often seen. Especially in the 50ml bottle, which I prefer for various reasons.
Well, after eyeing it for a few years and then forgetting about it, I finally found it in 50ml at an acceptable price; it's also the cheapest that Bond has in their range, at least regarding the MSRP.
Upon arrival, I really like the bottle; the packaging, etc. is nice in Bond style.
Sprayed on... The first thing that definitely comes through is the pineapple, a bit sweet, a bit sour (but not unpleasant, more like sour Haribo).
However, the sweet, fizzy, fruity pineapple fades significantly after just a few minutes, and what remains I would describe as cedar, juniper berries, musk, and moss. I really liked the pineapple so much...
About an hour later, I smell it again, and lo and behold... The pineapple is back! But a bit softer, clean like freshly washed; I think it smells somewhat like pouring a pineapple soda over cedar wood. Not bad, light, very wearable in summer, a bit different from the very woody/piney scent I perceived before. It stays that way and becomes softer over time until it disappears.
Longevity and sillage are good; you get several hours out of it.
I don't want to say much about the similarity to Aventus; my experience with Aventus after multiple tests was not particularly good; I never really perceived pineapple there. This is different here, no smokiness, definitely a bit more relaxed, but not necessarily juvenile.
So overall, a successful blind purchase. I wanted to stop doing that...

Glacier Cloud
A fragrance from Iceland that is supposedly made with glacier water and adorned with a piece of volcanic rock. I would say the marketing team did a good job; it convinced me to make a blind purchase. Additionally, I couldn't imagine anything bad about the notes, and in general, I think it's safer to buy "harmless" fragrances blindly than something extravagant.
The bottle is quite nice; I find the piece of volcanic rock very appealing, definitely earns points from me. Otherwise, it's relatively simple and elegant, something many manufacturers do quite well. Unfortunately, the sprayer is not great, not 100% tight when spraying and gives a bit too much stream, not a nice mist.
Now to the main point: The scent.
The notes are very simple and direct, and so is the fragrance. You get a few citrus notes in the opening, very aquatic, with a bit of musk to soothe it all even more. Refreshing, but also harmless and nothing special; I think you can find a similar scent in some designer or "cheap" fragrances.
The scent fades very quickly and becomes a soft cloud on the skin (probably the cashmere wood and musk), gentle spices in the background, definitely nothing piercing (not listed as notes here, I would classify it as pepper/pink pepper). Still fresh and pleasant here. Citrus is gone after what feels like just a few minutes.
Overall, a good refreshment, nice for summer. In my opinion, it's one for moments when you don't want to make a strong presence with a perfume, but rather wear a refreshment for yourself.
The longevity and sillage are, by the way, subpar, making it well-suited for events where you want to hold back. I think you won't clash with it anywhere, but you also rarely stand out positively.
Positively put: You can always spray it on without hesitation!
