Fragrance Inspiration at the Right Time
I too am one of the lucky winners of a sample of this fragrance, which came at just the right time as I am currently preparing for potential new employers. This included a visit to the hairdresser as well as a shopping tour with a good consultant. It was during this outing that the fragrance was first put to use and thoroughly tested. In fact, it not only bravely lasted throughout the day but also delighted me each time I frequently changed my outfits, as it gently rose from my arms, wrists, and hair. This leads me to the conviction that it is absolutely suitable for upcoming client contacts, as it does not overwhelm my counterpart but gently envelops me, giving me a sense of polished elegance and self-confidence. For me, it is like pearl earrings for a business outfit and will certainly accompany me successfully.

In the Warm Car
I still remember exactly how a few years ago in the summer I was shopping with my daughter at the drugstore in the next town and half-heartedly sprayed this fragrance on my arm. But then - back in the parked warm car, there was a "fragrance explosion"! At the latest, the tuberose and vanilla that I love led me to leave my daughter waiting and rush back into the store to buy a bottle right away, something I had never done before, as I usually take a moment to think before buying a fragrance. In the meantime, I also found a sweet little travel size and the matching body lotion. The bottle actually always sits on the coat rack in case I feel like having a "fragrance explosion" in the car again. Still, I don't fear that I will overwhelm my surroundings, as it remains close to the skin.

The Treasure from the Flea Market
once again in search of something completely different… (beautiful old porcelain, nice costume jewelry) my steps halt at a stand where a group of rather "battered" fragrances is sitting in a corner.
A conversation develops with the stand owner, who reveals herself to be a passionate lover of "old" scents. Finally, I impulsively exclaim, "welcome to the club" and am pleased with the nice contact and exchange of experiences with a kindred spirit.
Suddenly, she pulls out one of the already repacked fragrance bottles: azuree, an "old" scent. Together with a few other fragrances, it becomes my prize that I proudly carry home.
Once there, I study the comments and also test the fragrance, and I am now sure I own the vintage version.
A classic chypre and the leather note is absolutely penetrating.
Perhaps I should offer a decant to all those who mourn this version.

And somehow it is a rose after all…
Years ago, during a hospital stay, my roommate told me her fragrance when I asked, which stuck in my memory: L Ombre dans l Eau.
Now I received a sample with a purchase from the Souk.
The first impression: wow, is it fresh and green (almost startling)! But it in no way resembles any fragrance that has been among my favorites so far.
But the screeching green quickly fades, and then something remains that someone here once called “Weleda Wild Rose Aura.”
And maybe that’s exactly what fascinates me about this scent. The contrasts, the extraordinary, and the quietly blooming rose hidden away.
Finally, the ultimate test; throughout the entire workday, I carefully dabbed it on my forearm from time to time. Should I invest in a fragrance that might turn out to be an expensive mistake again?
And again - first green and fresh but without the usual Eau de Cologne or citrus notes. And where I miss the strength and longevity, the wild (?) rose actually cuddles up on my arm and accompanies me throughout the day.
By the afternoon of that day, my decision is made, and the joy over the confirmation from my Souk partner to send me the fragrance as quickly as possible reconciles me with all the adversities of the day.

What lasts long will finally be good or Love at second sight?
At some point, I fancied that I needed to treat myself to something very special for my birthday - a Guerlain - Samsara.
I researched, ordered the red bottle from an online retailer, he delivered the modern version, a quick spray, disappointment spreads, the product goes back.
My frustration lands in the forum and I promptly receive many helpful responses.
Someone on eBay finds a (vintage?) version of eau de toilette for me. However, I’m not too thrilled - it moves on through the souk to a true enthusiast (thanks for that!).
A very old miniature from eBay is pretty, but it contains more colored water, there’s nothing left to smell.
I make one last attempt, order the eau de parfum of the modern version from the cheapest retailer, and this time I start testing without high expectations.
The nice SabriNoir also sent me a sample of her Extrait as a birthday gift, which I cherish and have tested quite cautiously so far.
So: as it looks, I can indeed live with the modern “bee bottle.”
My initial disappointment surely stems from the fact that Samsara is in an exclusive and high-priced circle and I had expected a “bomb” similar to my 80s treasures.
But no, it doesn’t need to be that way! Suddenly, I realize that I want it just like this and not otherwise. Blooming in secrecy, discreet, classic, suitable for many occasions (not just for the opera, even daily to the office depending on the dosage).
No one screams here, no one pushes to the forefront. As a (deterring) comparison, I always have my sister-in-law, who throws waves of diva or Paloma Picasso at me during family celebrations.
With Samsara, I suddenly have the scent for many special occasions - the important job interview where I want to boost my self-confidence - the company party among my predominantly male colleagues (when I want to go beyond the “freshly showered image”).
And I read the previous comments and can absolutely agree with them - I feel exactly the same about this fragrance. I found it late, but why shouldn’t it be forever?
