essence of vagueness

The listing of notes for this one sounds simply gorgeous. But I find this to be a somewhat hairspray-ish mild vanilla/caramel scent. Where's the pimento? The benzoin? The heliotrope? I'm suspecting that either all those lovely notes cancel each other out, or I'm anosmic to something used in this one. Time to pass this along and see whether someone else gets something better out of it.

Clean AND gourmand?

My mother wore this fragrance when I was little, around the 2000s And whenever she drove to the night shift and said goodnight to me, this delicate cloud of powder also embraced me at night.

And that probably had a decisive influence on me, so now that she hasn't worn it for years, it had to move in here too.

I find it clean and gourmand at the same time. The vanilla is not unpleasantly dominant. Rather, it is a cozy embrace only in the drydown. It is a timelessly elegant fragrance that has not been harmed by time.

It will be bought again and again.

old love

This fragrance is so old. Probably every woman has worn it.

I loved wearing it as a teenager. Then it disappeared from my screen for years.
Until I got it from my late father for Christmas. So there's more to it, but that's another story.

I still find the fragrance very beautiful and pleasant. Soft flowers, powdery, creamy, clean. A great fragrance for everyday wear but also for going out.

It lasts quite well on me and the silage is also present.
What a great cheapie and compliments getter.

The clean scent of the 90s

Sometimes I have these retro fits, sometimes it goes wrong, sometimes it goes well, as in this case. For the fact that 23 ingredients are listed here and I'm getting dizzy again, it's not for me, I have autistic traits, Naomi Campbell smells creamy and clean. In the 90s I bought everything...everything that was advertised...I was like Alice in Wonderland, standing for hours in the Müller, which had an insane selection back then...I couldn't get past the 1st floor...at that time I didn't know about Parfumo or it didn't exist yet. I bought what smelled good or simply for image reasons. I never really got on with Christina, I had every fragrance by Naomi. Well, at some point I couldn't think of what I needed now, but I had to buy something :-) We know the "problem", the bottle has been sitting unopened in the cupboard for weeks now, completely against my habit...I was probably afraid...so today I bravely opened the packaging, smelled the atomizer, a habit of mine and thought...oops, not a typical 90s fragrance that is somehow over the top and no longer fits in with the times. A wonderful creamy soft cloud welcomes me I don't want to say balsamic or something...somehow it's an innocent creamy timid cleangirl scent...tends a bit towards My Name but nicer. Heliotrope, coconut and vanilla are what I notice most. I don't think the rare Queen of the Night was used here, this fragrance is too inexpensive for that. But it is timelessly beautiful.

The first is (sometimes) the best!

Naomi Signature, as her first fragrance is called, can still be found on the top order lists more than 25 years after its release. A creamy, soft, seductive fragrance with an irresistible vanilla note that was a novelty at the time. This fragrance could just as well have been created by Dior, because the vanilla note had it all.

Queen of the Night, which had already "embellished" Addict by Dior, is also represented here.

I am describing the vintage (older) version from 2002, not tipped, still beautiful, in the 100ml bottle (which unfortunately is not available to buy). Why the fragrance is not tipped after so long and so many years ?!

Every now and then I have treated myself to a spritz so that the fragrance has not tipped, because it is usually the fragrance on top that "tips" and not the actual fragrance in the bottle. That's why you should spray the fragrance on from time to time so that the fragrance remains "constant" and doesn't tilt. Just a tip from me on the side, doesn't only work with this fragrance :-)

But what does Naomi Signature smell like and what are the differences between old (vintage) and new?

The old fragrance starts with an explosion of different aromas, whether coconut, paprika or other spices: it "tingles" in the nose in a positive sense. Then you smell subtle, light floral nuances and fruit. The fruit is indefinable, but could also come from the peach and the cactus blossom (Queen of the Night), which only opens its flowers once or twice a year in the dead of night (which is native to the Caribbean).

I can also smell fine bourbon vanilla, which gives the fragrance its "cuddle factor". Once sprayed on, a long fragrance journey begins that stretches endlessly, sprayed on to stay. The juice of the bottle is dark beige, while the current version I also have is light beige.

I think the color already shows that reformulations have taken place here too. While the old version of Signature was only wearable at night, the current one has become a "friendly" fragrance suitable for everyday use, where you no longer offend.

I doubt whether all 23 ingredients are still in it as they used to be. The fragrance is still beautiful. For romantic candlelight dinners, however, I would still prefer the vintage version. Because on a cold winter's night, with candlelight, dimmed lights and Toni Braxton's song "The Heat", the Vintage Signature definitely goes best with candlelight and an open fire.
