The "rich" brother of D&G Light Blue Intense.
Since I was still looking for a nice summer fragrance, I ordered a sample of "Renaissance." As most summer scents tend to lean in a rather similar direction and based on the scent description, I didn't expect an absolutely unique DNA.
So I sprayed it on and IMMEDIATELY I thought of the good old D&G "Light Blue Intense," which I also have in my collection. Definitely, a very nice and absolutely authentic mint comes to the forefront in the opening, giving it a lovely start. Like many other users here, I also thought of Mojito. It is a really beautiful scent that definitely shows the usual Xerjoff quality. It smells extremely natural and not so synthetic, and also not as aquatic as the "little blue brother," but does that justify the almost fourfold price? Maybe. But for me personally, the two are just too similar for me to be willing to pay so much more for the full bottle. It's also a bit too linear for me. In the drydown, the citrus does settle a bit, and it becomes a little softer, but overall, Renaissance doesn't undergo a significant transformation. I would even almost claim that "untrained" noses wouldn't notice a big difference between the two colleagues. The mint is really noticeable at the beginning, but it recedes a bit over time. Instead, patchouli and amber come a bit more to the forefront. However, this is only true if you smell close to the skin.
Sillage and longevity are really good for a "freshie."
All in all, a really nice, fresh, and pleasant summer fragrance, but in my opinion, definitely not a "must-have." Would I buy the scent? Absolutely! For the price? Unfortunately no.

Perfume art on another level.
What can I say? After I first heard about the scent, I had a picture in my mind. A picture of what Andy Tauer is trying to describe with this composition and of the scent itself. I thought to myself, if it smells like it does in my head, this will surely be my new favorite in my collection.
So I ordered a sample, sprayed it on and... It was exactly what I had imagined in my mind - only 100 times better. It may sound strange, but every time I wear the scent, I almost get goosebumps because it is UNBELIEVABLY good. In my opinion, it fits every season and every occasion (except maybe for sports).
You probably don't need to say too much about the scent description. The name actually says everything you need to know. It is DUSTY DRY, almost mineral. But at the same time incredibly spicy and woody. But in an absolutely unobtrusive way.
I would almost compare the scent to an oriental sauna infusion. When the dry, hot air mixes with the aromas of the infusion, the stones, and the wood. Simply a masterpiece and probably the only scent in my collection that can compete with Alexandria II. Even people for whom perfume has no special meaning react "impressed" to this scent.
Sillage is good but not outstanding.
Price/performance in my opinion is already great. I just don't know anything comparable.
