Way better than the rating suggest
This was my first venture into the MFK realm and it's an odd first fragrance to pick considering the hype on BR540, Oud Satin Mood and others or some well known fragrances as Petit Matin, Pluriel Masculin and others however, I found 'l'Homme à la Rose' with a nice discount and it looked interesting enough so I went for it.

L'Homme à la Rose is, as anyone would imagine a floral with rose front and center but it doesn't feel as feminine as one might expect, the rose is done in a tasteful and classy way and the addition of grapefruit brings some brightness that's very welcome and plays great with the rose. There's also something green about this fragrance that makes it more versatile and wearable making it an ultimate office fragrance or daytime formal event.

Presentation is top notch, the bottle looks amazing, there's a stonewash finish to the cap, the box gives a premium feel and the sprayer is what you'd expect on this price range.

So far this is my favorite MFK frag although considering I've only tried Aqua Celestia, Gentle Fluidity Silver and BR540 it isn't saying much but there's something about this one that sets it apart. It's debonair, smooth, classy, just... good.

old school is cool
Bois du Portugal certainly has an older style, a more mature and classy take on fragrance and it succeeds in everything it does. Forget your Invictus type of fragrance, this isn't your typical generic fresh aquatic with some sweet elements to appeal to a younger and hip audience. This one is different, this is for someone who wants to create an impression that will last.

BdP follows all the tropes you expect from a Fougere, it uses a lovely citrus opening as a bait and once it hooks you it sends you through a journey of lavender, vetiver, patchouli and woods that will leave you in awe. It's a timeless piece of perfumery cause it certainly has all the elements of a dated fragrance but it feels modern, it feels actual, it's just... timeless (there's no other word to describe it).

To me this may be one of the best Creed fragrances out there, this based on my batch 19R01.

I don't get why this is rated so poorly
I recall trying this fragrance at a store about 3 years ago, before the quarantine and I really enjoyed it, perhaps not enough to purchase at full retail but it did left a good impression. 3 years later I recalled it and somehow a needed to have it and I wouldn't stop at anything to get it but it seems to be either discontinued or just hard to get anyhow, I got it from a discounter (not too discounted) and what happened after these years? Well it's just as good.

It's all about the cedar here as you can expect (Cedro is spanish for Cedar) and it's done right. It's not a ground breaking fragrance by any means or a sexy bomb but it's a solid elegant fragrance that's great for office wear or night out, cooler afternoons and formal events. Performance here is solid so all good with this scent, very glad I purchased it.

A scent of its own
Isn’t it funny how Aventus went from being a niche blockbuster to being a category? With such success no wonder some many houses are putting their own versions of it: straight up clones, inspirations and in some cases fragrances that just remind you of Aventus while doing their own thing, that’s where I’d put fragrances like Hacivat, Cedrat Boise, Elysium, etc…. So where does Scent of Peace fit? in none of these. I see barely a connection between SoP and this genre of fragrances, perhaps they both work on the same occasions but fragrance wise, not similar at all, not to me, at least not on my skin.

The fragrance is very linear (on my skin), you get a blast of pineapple and bergamot (to me it feels more like lemon but let’s stick to the official notes) but juniper is the strongest or at least what punches followed by the wood. It’s fresh, clean, sweet, playful and versatile, great for signature scent. Performance is very good, expect 9 hours with solid projection.

Love the presentation however, my Scent of Peace came with no bowtie, is that normal? I never gave Bond No.9 a chance but they are winning me over, they have my attention now.

the Nuit d'Issey line is on a winning streak
After the first wearing my thoughts are: This is basically Nuit d'Issey with a 'blue fragrance' opening. I know it sounds bad but allow me to elaborate.

The opening for Bois Arctic is very nice, it's citrusy sweet kind of the kind of fruity sweet you'd expect from a blue fragrance with some green notes sprinkled here and there with a darker and more resinous feel on the background. As it starts to dry-down you get closer, just like being on a nice field covered with flowers with some dark woods ahead and every step gets you closer and closer to those dark woods. By then you realize the dry-down resembles Noir Argent which is a good thing right? however you still get traces of those fruity sweetness and citrusy notes from the top softening the experience and adding versatility to it.

I won't comment on the performance just yet but this is certainly a beautiful composition, I would've loved to get more of that tobacco, I didn't feel it and I'd hope to get something that drifted apart from Noir Argent a bit more, not because it's bad but because I already own Noir Argent.
