Fresh mint kick with a fruity tonka base
I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. A release that is announced without much advance marketing and suddenly thrown onto the market - is it just a case of jumping on the hype and milking the cash cow because the predecessor was a complete success? Is it perhaps an immature copy?

Definitely not. Le Mâle Elixir Absolu goes its own way and manages to position itself as an independent fragrance, despite its DNA as a "flanker of the flanker".

The opening impresses with an incredibly fresh and intense mint note - even if mint is not officially listed, it immediately stands out. For me, it's the strongest mint opening I've experienced so far in the Le Mâle range. It's almost reminiscent of sniffing a menthol stick: clear, refreshing and invigorating. After that, the nose was free for the first time.

After around 10-15 minutes, the mint fades slightly into the background, allowing a fruity tonka base to emerge. I only notice the plum, which is listed here, relatively late. It provides the decisive addictive factor and supports the tonka bean with a pleasant fruity note that rounds off the fragrance. The lavender gradually shimmers through and lends the composition an elegant structure. Despite being marketed as Elixir Absolu, the fragrance is by no means heavy, intrusive or overly sweet - a successful balancing act. Its big brother is definitely sweeter.

The development of the fragrance is relatively straightforward, but all the more impressive for its persistence: the composition of mint, lavender, peacock and tonka remains present for hours. The whole thing projects extraordinarily strongly and spreads pure joie de vivre. A single spritz effortlessly fills the room and radiates positive vibes - ideal for days that need an energetic upgrade.

There is also nothing to complain about in terms of durability: The fragrance easily lasts until the next day, and the intensity picks up again as body temperature rises.

Thanks to its freshness, Le Mâle Elixir Absolu is versatile. With a moderate dosage, it is even suitable for summer. Whether as an everyday fragrance, signature fragrance, party companion or going out fragrance - it always cuts a fine figure. Only for very formal occasions could the blonde rascal appear a little too casual, as it conveys a relaxed, playful attitude.

All in all, this second "golden torso" in no way has to hide behind its successful predecessor. It goes its own, authentic way and offers enough differentiation so that collectors of both fragrances need not fear redundancy. The price of 160 bows for 120 ml is of course steep. We are still talking about a designer here. However, it also delivers and will probably leave very few people disappointed once the purchase price has been digested and paid exclusively in the JPG webshop.

Le Mâle Elixir Absolu skillfully continues the success story of the elixirs and opens up refreshing new realms.
