Vega…on the second try a solid 10!
Sometimes I wonder how I could have labeled fragrances as musty, outdated, and "grandma scent" during my first testing about 5 years ago.
Probably, many fragrances need to mature for you to gather "fragrance experience."
With the "old" Guerlain scents, this happens to me all the time. Stamped as "yuck" years ago, I am now, after retesting in recent times, completely taken with these masterpieces of perfumery.
And now, Vega!
What a beautiful fragrance!
Warm spicy floral accords make this scent an absolute feel-good fragrance for me. My wrist keeps wandering to my nose, and a delighted smile spreads after a deep breath.
Very nice. And…for an EdT…folks…this has sillage and longevity…for hours.
Vega…for me a great treasure and shining star!

Cinéma...the scent of most compliments!
Cinéma has been with me for years.
At some point, I received the shower gel as a gift, which then prompted me to get the EdP.
Every time I wore it, compliments poured in. It’s probably also due to my skin; it seems to love this scent.
A female colleague was blown away when I wore it...she tried it on herself and was disappointed. On her, it didn’t smell good.
I don’t know what it’s due to.
I hadn’t had it in my collection for several years. The last bottle unfortunately tipped over.
Now I’ve had it for about 4 weeks, and it’s starting again.
Wore it today and immediately got: Oh, you smell really good today! What is that?
A super beautiful, fresh mandarin scent with warm vanilla in the dry down. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to please.

Engagement...not for me!
Betrothal starts off quite floral...which I personally do not like at all.
Somehow, the scent at first reminds me of a fruity-floral bubblegum fragrance.
This lasts for about 2 hours, until the beautiful base emerges and transforms everything that was somewhat reluctantly endured until then into something positive.
The base is phenomenal, I must say, just like with all the Grossmith fragrances I have tested so far. And yet, there is also a faint floral accord here that I would describe as cloyingly old-fashioned, which spoils my enjoyment of wearing this scent further.
In short...we are not a match!
There will be no engagement for me.

My "I'm-At-Home" Fragrance
Actually, this fragrance was an impulse buy. I originally wanted to buy "Bijan Woman" and then they sold me this scent in a perfumery in Kassel. And then also the extrait. 7.5 ml at a crazy price.
I have never regretted it. The impulse buy turned out to be a lucky purchase. "DNA" has nothing to do with "Bijan Woman" at all; they are two different fragrance directions and I love them both.
"DNA" is a dark, heavy floral scent. At first, however, it always reminds me of a sweet blackberry, followed by a colorful bouquet of flowers, which is joined by woody notes. There is always a hint of something sweet and lovely. Some may find it too much, but for my nose, it is just right.

Something is not right here...more
About 10 years ago, I received a gift voucher from my brother for a local perfumery for my birthday. My first choice was a fragrance from Diesel. Luckily, I had it sprayed on my arm. Just 10 minutes after the purchase, it was clear that the scent was not for me. So I promptly returned to the perfumery to return or exchange it. But what did I actually want? A fragrance with as many natural essences as possible, no synthetic scent. I was then presented with “Eau du Soir” and I was thrilled...at first. I took it home and used it. A lovely chypre, but somehow I just couldn't really warm up to it. It felt a bit too “old-fashioned,” “grandma-like.”
Four years ago, I auctioned it off on a well-known platform and forgot about it.
Chypres were just too old-fashioned for me...I thought back then!
Then came “Parfumo.” All fragrance directions were tested. “Sweet scents” quickly weren't for me, with a few exceptions. I liked this one, then that one, but somehow, I just couldn't reach my goal.
I keep realizing that the fragrances from my youth left a lasting impression. The wonderful “Rochas” and many drugstore scents.
And eventually, after testing 1000 perfumes, I became aware that I had a preference for chypres.
And so they moved in with me: “Madame Rochas,” “Chanel No. 19,” “Calèche,” “Scherrer,” etc.
And one was still missing: “Eau du Soir.”
Then it came, just before Christmas. Why did I ever give it away?
Well, then came the big disappointment. A modern “Eau du Soir,” same packaging, but unfortunately also seemingly reformulated in recent years. Where has the powerful, expressive “Eau du Soir” gone?
What I now have on my skin is a watery shadow of a truly great fragrance. Oh, if only I had kept my “old” bottle.
You can still sense it, but that's about it. Really a shame!
