Apples and chestnuts
Take
Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette and
Emporio Armani - Stronger with You Intensely, smashed them together, rebottle with a cool sort of a wine corkscrew as a cap, and sell it for an affordable price.
This is basically what we have here. Yes its less dynamic, more "cheap" selling in the opening, and a bit generic. But it works really well.
Jacques Huclier created a really nice woody amber scent with some nutty-fruity elements. Strong cedar smell, some amberwoods, a chestnut accord, and an Apple pie that turns this an appealing offering but yet, a generic one too.
No need to be afraid. Huclier is know for his brilliant A*Men line and the less interesting but popular Gucci Guilty line. In here, he picked the mass appealing note du jour (Chestnut) and the classic BB "apple-pie" accord, and mixed them with a high dose of dry woods and akigalawood to make it more modern.
In the end, a very pleasing and satisfactory experience. When this came out, Stronger with You was already popular and i thought that this was not worth it, but now, after all the fuzz, i returned to it and found a good composition overall.
And the price and performance are really good too! For less than 30€ for the 50ml bottle and with a nice 6-8h of longevity. A true gem that flows under the radar mainly because its a Tommy Hilfiger. Who cares about them, right?
Dont expect a masterpiece but a sexy masculine scent that can be worn all year, even in summer nights for drinks.
Tommy, you convinced me at once.

A perfect companion
This is my favorite version of the Bleu line. It has everything. Its fresh, woody, slightly aromatic, slightly spicy, alluring for romantic situations, sexy for a date, perfect for office, masculine overall.
Its great for summer to winter. I mean, its really the perfect masculine. It can be worn everytime, everywhere, and i'll fit the occasion.
Jacques Polge did another great job with this one. I'm a fan of Chanel's masculine fragrances, but this is without a doubt, the more versatile one. He nailed it.
Yes, the EDP gets all the praises but i find this a bit superior for being fresher and sexier to me. The EDP is rounded, more sweet and maybe a bit more alluring but to me, this is better executed.
The longevity is good, the projection is great in the first 2/3h.
Besides the "hate" that fragheads have with this one, i find it quite unique and just a swiss army knife for all occasions. Its one of those that i always love to wear and have in my collection.

Beast mode pineapple juice
I'm not a fan of the now hyped niche brands and the rise of arabic brands, but Im not against their existence. People that like beast mode scents, have plenty of choices nowadays. I'm more into dynamic French compositions with aromatics, woods and spices.
Creed is a brand that i really like due to their great rounded and well blended scents, but their prices are crazy for me. I dont play those prices for a fragrance, no matter how good they are. But that's just my perspective.
Nishane is an example of a brand that have powerful blends but with a row finish. Fan your flames is a beast mode coconut with tobacco that i dont care. I sold my bottle cause its very static and pushy. Not my thing.
This one, surprised me in a way. There's an obvious resemblance to Aventus but different enough to be a stand alone composition. Aventus is dynamic, super fresh, well blended, with a smoky birch note, a great bergamot, a addictive blackcurrant and a soft aura overall.
This is just straight to pineapple juice with a high dose of moss in the background. Yes, it has bergamot too. The grapefruit give that bitter quality and there's patchouli and cedar in the middle, which round things up. But the moss and pineapple are so strong that the other notes have a minor role here.
The smell is static and dont change during the lifetime of the fragrance. And talking about longevity, this is beast mode. 5 sprays are enough to smell like pineapple and green moss for 12+ hours. I usually overspray fragrances but this one, with 8-10 sprays, it's super strong and headache inducing.
Overall, Aventus is miles better that this in terms of composition, but in longevity and price point, this is much better. The smell is likeable, dont get me wrong. And in fact, is probably the best from the brand, but its a bit synthetic and not rounded enough, specially in the first 2h, where the fragrance hás a strong projection.
Overall, i like it very much but i still prefer Aventus for a more dynamic and quality fragrance.

Plastic Grapefruit
I have this beauty for 6 years. I wore a full splash bottle and, a few years ago, i bought a backup spray bottle.
This is a very interesting, unique and long lasting fresh citrusy scent. Created by Alain Astori in 93, right before acquatic classic like L'eau D'Issey or ADG, and after Cool Water, New West and Kenzo Pour Homme.
This is the more different One of the bunch. And, because it came after the mega success of Drakkar Noir, the brand had high hopes for this release. It ends up that it didnt sell well and right in the turn of the century, they discontinued it.
It opens up with a grapefruit with the sulphuric smell that came from Blackcurrant. Sweet and sour. It seems like a plastic that had fruits on the fridge for quite a while and they became stuck on the plastic.
Weird but great. Its very linear but super unique and refreshing. I guess calone is there too to provide the endless freshness.
Longevity is good (6-8h), and the price is great. But its became harder to find last years.
I'm a fan of this one and Im glad i bought a spray bottle because i would miss this one after i finished my splash bottle.
Overall, recomended!

Italian's summer vibe
I don't know why i never reviewed this yet but here it is.
Uomo? created in the late 90's by the great Olivier Cresp, is a fantastic value for the money you pay. I think the brand is discontinuing this (or they did it already). You find a bottle of 75ml for less than 20€!
This is a complex scent. Nothing cheap or trendy. It's a soapy musk with citruses and some light sweetness. It opens up with the kumquat and Rosewood. The same rosewood you'll find in Égoiste but in a completely different scent. Its sweet, lightly rosey and citrusy. The Kumquat is the key to give this citrus sweetness glow to the fragrance.
As it dries down, the soapy qualities became more pronounced and a more aromatic cinnamon note appears. It's not as dry or sweet as in other compositions. Here it is fresher (the hedione is floating somewhere here) and gives the light sweet alluring aspect to the fragrance.
It's like a very fresh soapy scent with woody-spicy elements and a light citrus smell in the air. Very unique, alluring, masculine, versatile and great for the spring and summer! A fragrance that has good performance (i own a vintage bottle with the big black nozzle in the sprayer) and a bargain price. A must have in my opinion.
