Impact Intense Tommy Hilfiger 2021

Take Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette and Emporio Armani - Stronger with You Intensely, smashed them together, rebottle with a cool sort of a wine corkscrew as a cap, and sell it for an affordable price.

This is basically what we have here. Yes its less dynamic, more "cheap" selling in the opening, and a bit generic. But it works really well.

Jacques Huclier created a really nice woody amber scent with some nutty-fruity elements. Strong cedar smell, some amberwoods, a chestnut accord, and an Apple pie that turns this an appealing offering but yet, a generic one too.

No need to be afraid. Huclier is know for his brilliant A*Men line and the less interesting but popular Gucci Guilty line. In here, he picked the mass appealing note du jour (Chestnut) and the classic BB "apple-pie" accord, and mixed them with a high dose of dry woods and akigalawood to make it more modern.

In the end, a very pleasing and satisfactory experience. When this came out, Stronger with You was already popular and i thought that this was not worth it, but now, after all the fuzz, i returned to it and found a good composition overall.

And the price and performance are really good too! For less than 30€ for the 50ml bottle and with a nice 6-8h of longevity. A true gem that flows under the radar mainly because its a Tommy Hilfiger. Who cares about them, right?

Dont expect a masterpiece but a sexy masculine scent that can be worn all year, even in summer nights for drinks.

This is the exact same scent as Raghba Wood Intense. But this one is a skin scent where Raghba Wood Intense is really much better in terms of silage and performance and even has a better scent profile. After 30 minutes of applying THI you can barely smell the scent. I cannot detect anything except woody notes. It is very week and it has absolutely no silage. I'd prefer Raghba Wood Intense much more and it is much cheaper and stays much longer.

First spray you get fruit, as it dries down it becomes more sweet and for me chestnut is upfront, but also has some spicy essence. After about an hour you get the wood a lot of cedar you know the hint of pencil shavings. Some say this is very sweet, sorry on me this is a well balanced non linear fragrance. It also is there in the morning, a skin scent, but still there. I would recommend this for cooler weather, climate controlled conditions and could even be a signature scent. Blind buy? Go for it!

This smells exactly like the Impact but with added vanilla sweetness and chestnut. So, it is like having a vanilla apple chestnut pie in a wooden cupboard. Gets very sweet with the drydown. Nothing groundbreaking. Again, very long lasting because of the synthetic wood note and vanilla apple. I wouldn't buy because of the apple note which smells cheap to my nose (this is very individual).

How did this trend designer manage to practically escape the perfume influencer hype and slip under the radar of the Sauvage EdT review army?
Did I miss something? Is Hilfiger no longer a trendy label? Is it too expensive, or do I have to bend too far down in the drugstore? Is it due to the absence of a well-known model and the rather inconspicuous marketing?
OK, the bottle with the wobbly T-shaped cap - presumably inspired by a bollard for hooking a boat line to convey a nautical flair along with the color play - is likely to divide opinions, but it shouldn't be a reason for the wallflower status of this fragrance, especially since its glass part feels quite heavy and smooth in the hand.

So is it about the scent itself?

Impact Intense starts woody, sweet, and resinous, with a barely hinted incense note. The latter is not listed in the pyramid anyway. Chestnut with a toffee-like sweetness is also a note that comes to mind. The apple that the community swears by, on the other hand, eludes me - apart from a delicate fruitiness - like candied fruit - practically completely. Therefore, I find no trace of "Layton | Parfums de Marly," but rather a full dose of "Emporio Armani - Stronger With You Intensely | Giorgio Armani." And that's in the best sense, because what I don't like about SWYI, Hilfiger does right. Fruit and incense create a contrasting framework for SWYI's caramel sweetness, making the scent deeper, more complex, and more interesting. Projection and sillage are still in the top league; unlike SWYI, I don't have to have Impact Intense surgically removed by a dermatologist to apply another fragrance. And to return to Layton once more (although I see hardly any parallels here, as I said): Impact Intense does not convey that cheeky-narcissistic Andrew-Tate aura of the PdM flagship. Restraint is no longer in demand in times of social media staging, and I will now suggest that this is the reason why Hilfiger's creation does not resonate with the Layton/Sauvage clientele. And not least because of this, I like it extraordinarily well. With it, I feel comfortable both at home by the fireplace and in the office. Sweet chestnut, candied fruit, and a bit of incense create a wonderfully late autumn atmosphere. The gourmand side grounds Hilfiger sufficiently with masculine woody notes, so that, for those who care, the fragrance can also earn a few compliments. Not really similar, because less sweet, but pursuing a similar concept in their woody-resinous spiciness, I immediately think of the also appreciated Au Coeur du Désert and № 02 - L'Air du Désert Marocain Eau de Toilette Intense as alternatives. Or rather Impact Intense as an alternative to the Tauers. Because while the latter are hard to wear and I quickly get tired of them, Hilfiger can be worn practically anywhere and doesn't annoy me even after prolonged wear.
Craftsmanship may be at best solid, but I find myself in this composition so much that I give it a 9, even at the risk of having to duck away under the critical eyes of my fellow perfume aficionados.
My unconditional recommendation for everyone who likes SWYI but would prefer it in something more mature and wearable. Definitely its best flanker, even if it doesn't come from Armani.
