Oriental Dream
I've been trying Aaron Terence Hughes fragrances and I've had the chance to try quite a few, this one was one of the ones I'd say are worth a review online to get more people to purchase.

It's quite resinous and reminds me a bit of Amouage Interlude Man in that quality. It's very performant and the Oud is extremely apperent in all points of its time on the skin. The longevity is around 12 hours on my skin (most fragrances don't even last 5) and the projection is amazing, like most aaron terence hughes fragrances. It projects every well for at least 6 hours then it becomes more moderate but it's still wayy ahead of anything else on the market since even on the likes of Ombre Nomade the projection after 4 hours starts to be non existent; this is not the case here.

The rose is not strong at all, and you really get the fruitiness from the dates and from the rasberry. Those fruity notes make the more strong type of Oud more palatable and its quite enjoyable even for people who are not big on oud. This also uses true oud and not a synthetic or molecule variant which makes it an amazing value for money since its extremely hard to find actual oud fragrance on this market at the moment.

In terms of similarity, it's quite similar to ombre nomade and amouage interlude man, I'd say its a strong mix of the two with a much more apperent oud note and without the leather. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who thinks they'd like the notes or if they would like to get into more oriental perfumery.

A better cherry fragrance?
So this is my first ever bottle of a cherry fragrance. I had tried the Tom Ford line of cherry formulations (Lost Cherry, Cherry Smoke, etc) and I was never really a fan of them. Mostly because the cherry note was simply gone after 2 hours of wearing. Generally speaking, they're always in a bad spot of them being too weak and not bold enough to be date fragrances and yet not subtle enough to be an everyday wear. It's just something you might throw on on an evening at best.

However, Aaron's interpretation completely changed my view on cherry focused formulations. First off, the cherry note lasts from the first moment of spraying to its far dry down. The opening is a little harsh but after a few minutes when it settles down it's extremely nice. The scent profile of this scent is very dark and spicy, probably because of the Thai Oud on the base of the formulation, along with the almonds and dark chocolate which are extremely apparent in this formulation. If you like cherry fragrances as a scent profile and you always wanted them being "darker" and stronger and more bold, this is definitely for you. However do keep in mind this does have Oud in its formulation so it may be challenging for some people. However this is a very beginner oud formulation and from my experience most people seem to like the way it smells.

Now for performance, as usual with Aaron's work, it's extremely long lasting and extremely projecting. I had a spray on my arm yesterday at around the afternoon part of the day, and the thing is still on my arm and its not even a skin scent yet. In terms of projection, it's very airy and there's a wall of fragrance around you. I wouldn't say its absolutely room filling but 6ft projection is good enough for most people. Especially with the type of scent this is.

Overall, if you like the scent profile and Oud/Spice type scents this is definitely for you.

Impressed!
In my collection I have probably almost all popular oud fragrances on the market either as full bottles or as decants. Luna was the latest addition to my collection and I am beyond impressed with the fragrance.

In terms of smell, it's a rose/oud combo with heavy Incense and a leathery accord to it's profile. The oud is real, and you can tell so right from the get go. It's not harsh but it's extremely dark and sort of metallic and resinous on the dry down. The rose is extremely sweet and very appealing, even to myself which I don't really like rose in fragrances. This is probably due to the fact that he's using real roses instead of a molecule which honestly is really rare to see in modern perfumery. The leather accord is not too harsh, it's just in the back adding depth and character to the formulation. There's also vanilla absolute in the formulation but I would definitely not say it's vanilla heavy by any stretch of the imagination.

Now for performance/projection, its Aaron Terence Hughes, so you already know this is going to be extremely projecting and performant in every regard. It lasts at the very least 17 hours on my skin and the thing doesn't stop projecting. One spray and it was enough to be smelt from the other side of my house so be careful with the trigger. Just one to two sprays is enough. If you want a comparison, the projection is comparable to the likes of Ombre Nomade or Interlude Man, arguably even superior since the projection life of the fragrance lasts for most of it's time on your skin.

In terms of presentation, you're getting a very simple and nice box with an elegant presentation, and a really nice simplistic bottle. It has a metal magnetic cap and I am definitely a fan of the crystals on top. The atomizer is the best I've ever seen, I think it's the same one Thameem uses.

But to summerise, if you're a fan of oud and rose and you like middle eastern vibe perfumery, you will absolutely love this. If you're new into oud, or generally said type of perfumery definitely try to either decant it or buy a sample bottle. It's definitely not for everyone and it may be challenging for someone new into those types of notes to properly appreciate.

(Summary of scores out of 10)
Scent: 9.5/10
Projection: 11/10
Presentation: 8.7/10
